I'm recently getting in to Batman, so I picked up the first four issues of Batman and Robin. I haven't received them yet thanks to my living nowhere near a damn comic book store. -_- Do you have an suggestions on what Batman stuff to jump into or pretty much any other comics, Geekmontreal? I would like a response. Thanks. =D
Batman reborn should be good i just bought it ugh i am hoping they do mabey a show becasue i like the story mabey when it grows more then another batman and robin made by nolan since dick and daimean are kickass batman and robin he could bring that dark vibe.
I disagree that he needed to "Redeem" himself from his other Batman title. The Black Glove/RIP was an amazing work of Pulp Fiction. B&R is just following up on that vibe.
The only arc I liked from that title was the one where they where on that island. They had all the different Batman's from around the world, and the Black Glove was murdering them one by one. For the most part. Most of Morrison's idea's where unique, but they story beats where out of whack. And not easy to follow. But hey, that's just me.
Is Batman and Robin like Grant Morrison's ussall ape shit stuff? Cause as much as I love the guy, I don't think I can handle another one of his bizzaro stories for at least a little while.
ok so you like spider-man single, so why doesnt he GET A DIVORCE like a fucking regular creature on earth? people dont just disappear because you dump them - because that would be too lovely. Justification of that balls move will NOT BE TOLERATED! whew!
At least DC lets their heroes get older and have more then one fucking story! (Marvel does to0, but not as much/well)
I agree with you. BND was God awful. I do like a more youthful single character. I'm not making excuses for Marvel, but I believe they want him him to be more relatable to a youthful audenice. By making him a divorced, or widowed. It would make him "older" in a sense. I'm not agreeing with anything Marvel did regarding BND, but I'm enjoying the new Spider-Man status quo.
good review and I have to agree American Son is much better than the previous arc Spiderman had. As for Dark Avengers or Secret Six I think Six is better Simone knows how to write a real Villain team.
Wow. saar1707 got really pissed off over a funny book. I usually expect that from gamers not comic book readers. I did pick up Batman and Robin. And I have to say it is going in my pull list.
At any rate, Amazing Spider-Man was my favorite issue of the week; the best part of the issue was the Peter and Gwen's moment. I agree with Mighty Avengers being an actual Avengers book. Anyways, a good video.
Coin toss between Amazing and Batman. If you're refusing to read Batman, I implore you. Give it a go. Mighty Avengers had a hell of line though! Richards is Pym's bitch!
Actually, I did read, and like Batman & Robin; the book was good set up issue. You know, I was not much of a Spider-Man comic reader, because I always found him to be either annoying, or not witty enough; but, I do respect the character. Brand New Day actually made me pick up issues every month. I really like Slot's Mighty Avengers! Although, I always find Pym to be a pseudo-hero, he seems to only care for glory and redemption. That being said, Pym is slowly becoming an interesting character.
Bendis doing the best dialog in comics? LOL you don't know what the fuck you are talking about! every one on NA sound the same DA was shit from the first moment where the only thing Dakun said in the first 4 issues was "rrrrr"
Marvel boy didn't say anything! Ms.marvel talk like a whore, he don't know what to let Buckey say in NA he write spiderman like a fucking stupid teen etc etc etc!!!!
Cheez! Calm down, saar1707 He is just giving an opinion. Like it or now, Bendis can do some good dialogues. Of course, Dark Avengers and New Avengers are not that great, and the books need to find a focus, but you do not have to berate the reviewer for his opinions.
I agree on the cool moments for both books. For Bendis, every issue is well written, some clever dialogues, and promising moments, but it just does not seem interesting enough. Honestly, I think we need a new writer for the Avengers books. I love Bendis' writing, but he is more suitable for street-level characters. I would not mind an ongoing Luke Cage series, hell, I would not mind another Heroes for Hire series!
I think Bendis works best when he writes a lead Female solo book. Alais, Spider-Woman, and Deena Pilgram. You know what I would really love. (And this is out of left field.) Luke Cage and Iron Fist in a lead movie, set in the seventies, and directed by Quieten Taratino.
Yeah, his Alias series was extremely well done, but who is Deena Pilgram? Is she from Powers? Marvel does need more leading female characters. Incidentally, when is the Spider-Woman issue suppose to come out? Yeah, I can see that movie idea, but it would be pretty weird. You know what would be an awesome movie, if they do a Criminal film. Bette yet, if they redo the X-Men films, the right way. An even better example, a much better Daredevil film; God, what an awful film.
I heard a lot of excellent comments about Powers, maybe I should put that as my summer read. At least Daredevil was not as bad as Punisher: War Zone...
You know, I didn't mind the new Punisher flick. It wasn't anywhere near as good to the very first original film. But at least it standard shoot'em up action film. Jigsaw wasn't that bad, but his insane brother was fucking awfully. The main actor did an okay job. Afleck was just fucking brutal, Elektra sucked horribly, Michael Green has the voice for Kingpin but wasn't scary enough, and Bullseye came off as annoying. Between the two I have to go with Punisher.
The actor playing Castle was pretty descent, I actually felt the terminal intensity from him.I hope that they try to make Punisher as a t.v. series on H.B.O. There are a few series that need to be fresh out more as an ongoing. For an example, have you ever read Preacher? Very dense book, but they are going to adapted it into a movie, instead of the original idea of television adaptation. I too thought most of the characters were just shitty mirrors, but let's hope for a successful probable reboot.
I thought they were making Preacher into HBO series? That rumor was a while back now. Maybe that fizzled out. They're a ton of Adult books they should make into a HBO series. Walking Dead, Powers, Scalped, and many others. They really should be concentrating on making better TV than movies. Especially since comics come out monthly.
The show suppose to come on a few years ago, but either they decided to let it go, or, like you said, it just "fizzled out." Luckily, they are planning on making a Powers t.v. series for FX (Bendis announced the series at New York Comic Con), but you are so right about focusing on T.V. series than movies.I would love, love an ongoing Walking Dead series! There have not been a ongoing Zombie T.V. series, ever!
No problem. Also, I did a little bit of research for the Preacher T.V. Series. According to HBO, they did not pick up the series because it would have been too controversial due to the religion elements. I unequivocally agree, but only to a certain extent, because, let's face it, I think we had seen more extreme controversial elements.
Be that as it may. Bendis is probably one of the most paid in the comic book industry. His books are always in the top ten selling list. The thing he is known for is his dialog. I'm laughing that I got you so riled up. Really I am. Calm down. At the end of the day their just comics. You do have some points on your end. However, I think the jokes coming out of Spidey in NA are funny. Ms. Marvel is a villain. So yeah, she talks like a whore.

I hope Grant stays on Batman and Robin for as long as he can. Kinda reminds me of Marvel's Ultimate line.

It's bizzare, but it makes sense. His new take on villains works incredibly well. Give it a go. You won't be disappointed.
