The Model S Tesla is a whole lot faster than the Karma, costs less, has a whole lot more room and is well ahead in controls, and, believe it or not, has the same 300 mile driving range as the Karma. So exactly what is the purpose of designing a car like this? This technology no longer , like the Volt, makes any sense.
@weaklingv2 That goes against the whole point of having an electric car you moron. And for the record this car looks 100x nicer than that hideous muscle car you mentioned, especially on the inside. This car actually has luxury in it unlike a suped up mustang with a few plastic buttons and cheap leather.
@EliteSlayer542 If i can recall, the similarly sleek and faster Maserati Quattroporte $134,200, Aston Martin Rapide $199,950(better looking) and Porsche Panamera $132,600 are all reasonable alternatives to the $80k prius with some leather. Grow a pair and get a gasoline car.
@weaklingv2 So your saying that if this car was exactly the same, except if it ran on gasoline, you'd buy it? Because no matter how you look at it, its still a 80k luxury car that just so happens to be electric.
@EliteSlayer542 no, what i am saying is this car is not worth $80k, it is probably paying for the badge. it is no doubt luxurious but claiming sporty with a car slower than a Tesla roadster and a top speed of 125! If they said it was a slow hybrid with a full battery charge distance of 50 miles and dropped the price 40,000 dollars than it would be reasonable. The convenience of a gas engine oversees any hybrid right now if you aren't a tree hugger. The Audi S4 is better in every way.
@weaklingv2 I see your point, and this car is not sporty. Its more like a luxury family sedan, and without a doubt the price will drop to mid 60 grand. I see it competing with a 5 series BMW and Audi a6 with a couple of improvements.
And, BTW, the Tesla's speed of 125mph is way faster than anyone could possibly need. (unless you live near the autobahn or go to tracks). Keep it mind the tesla can jump to 60 in 3.7 seconds!
Anyway, check out it the Tesla model S. Its way better than this Fisker.
@EliteSlayer542 Well, i guess the model S is way better no doubt, seats 5 adults, 2 children, 0-60 in 5.3, and a price tag of $45 grand is really good. There is a full electric car i would buy. im Namen von Obama! Beste Qualität zu arbeiten!

@leighhigh777 the karma is way more unique and the rear of the tesla looks so dreary

87 Thousand dollars, This is why the Tesla S will win in the market. Find a way to come down under 50 and people will buy.

Gas Turbine is more efficient as a generator. Heat management is possible.

I'd rather have a 2011 Shelby gt500 that costs much less, 550hp ans less than 20mpg.

lol this car is a joke. 0-60 in 6 seconds? 50 miles in electric mode? 100 mpg? $80,000+???
lololol The new tesla model s has a 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, has a range of 300 miles per electric charge, equivalent of 300 mpg and cost about $49,000.
And did i mention its FULLY ELECTRIC?
And the tesla looks waaaay cooler, has WAY more hood space(cause the engine's in the trunk) and has a much cooler interior.

Damm the car is not a hybrid unless the drivetrain uses both electrons and hydrocarbons.
