  • Top ten moments at the cutout rack at Woolworths: James Gang rides Again-$1.

  • Saw Joe in Cincinnati this year and it was magical.

  • mikecyote@yahoo.com

Why may you ask about funks and the number? Prey tell Mr. Cyote sir. Because he wrote so many songs that were Funky He just numbered them 1 thru .....

  • I wish I could see Walsh play like that again, wow!

  • Walsh is probably the best guitarist out there (in my opinion).........that guitar solo is sick!!

  • One thing about Walsh and The Colonel, unlike many great instrumentalists, they've written a few toe tappers that will be around for many years.

  • Steve Cropper = legend

  • fucking idiots this isnt funk-49

  • @henson793 3:42 fucking idiot

  • @henson793 Hey, henson...all you needed to do was to start listening at 3:42 instead of gettin' all irate.

  • Met Duck Dunn and Steve Cropper one night when they played the Peabody in Memphis. My boss is a friend and we had a beer with them during intermission. Way Cool!

  • Dont have a pony tail if you dont have hair on the top of your head, fellas. If your gonna do that then wear one of those visors with the fake hair coming outta the top.

  • I want to see Joe Walsh & Warren Haynes Jam!Talk about underrated guitarists!

  • @1313FLYROD Joe Walsh and Warren Haynes to my knowledge are never underrated. just under appreciated.

  • @1313FLYROD i am not a fan of warren Haynes he does not deserve to walk in the same room as Joe Walsh. I mean The James Gang Blows Government Mule all to hell!

  • @1313FLYROD warren haynes is unreal

  • :34 "What about those people?!?" Hysterical the way Joe phrased and emphasized that.

  • WOW!!!!

  • Walsh is still the man!

  • Joe Walsh, right on Mr..... you rock like Cleveland does....

  • Gotta love Joe Walsh.. What an incredible performer & entertainer, both as solo artist and as a part of Eagles, one of the absolute best bands in the world ever. You guys are legendary.

  • Who could say anything negative about this performance? I mean, really?!

  • Joe Walsh is great, but Steve Cropper is a bigger living legend......

  • Comment removed

  • That brain dead mutherfucker plays the shit out of that guitar. Walsh is easily one of the top ten all time best, he is a living legend. At least he is in my book.

  • Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass (was in Blues Bros. movie) but also a Stax band member. Who is the guitarist?

  • @DrRonFast The Colonel Steve Cropper, also of Stax, Blues Brothers and MGs fame

  • cropper

  • Loved talkin' to Joe on Howard Stern in the early 90's:

    /watch?v=35LDs_k7uZo

  • Nice shoes!!!

  • man, i should have spent more of my youth learning to play guitar and less time playing video games.

  • I was listening to funk and this cat showed up.Ive never heard of him before.I like him. This man got skills!

  • WHAT WHAT WHATWHAT WHAT ?

  • haha wut a lame ass crowd.... i would be so drunk jus jammmin!!

  • Ah, Joe. Funny as fuck, top entertainer, top player and by god, what a pickup band he's got going here.

Him and Steve playing about. How on earth is Duck keeping a straight face?

  • PHIL X PHIL X PHIL X PHIL X

  • Blues brothers meets joe walsh... loving it!

  • Come on tards you cannot even get the names right, it's Page not "Paige" and Walsh not "Walsch" now go back to playing with your belly buttons.

  • Steve Cropper! Duck Dunn! We're not worthy!

  • Man, turn Joe's guitar up!

  • this is Hot Smoke and Sasafrass by Bubble Puppy

  • Love it! Joe kickin' ass (as usual) Duck Dunne & Steve Cropper......man, what's not to like? Is Joe running for President again? Anyone heard? (LOL) Joe is the Man!

  • @kneapoe51 Joe has my vote!!!! Joe F'ING Walsh ROCKS!!!!

  • Don't compair artists, just listen to the ones you like and move on. Save your bitchin' for the kitchen.

  • @PoppaBlue59 I HEARD THAT! FAT THUMBS UP!

  • @PoppaBlue59 well said ,that man..

  • @PoppaBlue59 Compair sounds like an airline where you ride for free !

  • HEY!! Here's an idea. Why don't you stop the pointless and childish debate over who is better, and just enjoy the f*cking music?? We don't care about your half-assed opinion.

    Thank you.

  • paige is bd over rated he sucked live

  • I am so glad that Joe was able to make bank with the Eggles over the years. He's a national treasure, seniour axeman.

  • OH YEAH BABY...... THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!

  • 29 People were so dazed and in awe that they accidentally hit the wrong button

  • go to the searcg bar, click the space button then enter... its badass

  • Jimmy Page is no comparison to Joe Walsh live, Page was a studio musician and sucked horribly live, he was sloppy and did unrecognizable ramblings on stage, Walsh nailed his stuff every time.

  • Joe Walsh playing with Booker T and the MGs ...... fantastic!!

  • badass intro!

  • whos is that other guitar player?

  • When will artist wake up and go back to the old rock and blues. It has to be in people still!! They would make a killing if they exsist!! The age range of listener would be so wide! Show your faces if your out there!! DONT LET ROCK DIE!!

  • i hate it when people say gibson are better than fender

  • @archynelson i hate when people care about guitars more than music

  • @themythofcreationism shut up dick jam its got nothing to do with you

  • One of the few players who can make playing the Blues ironic and funny-and still be giving it respect...{lol?}

  • @KDR16fly- woh woh woh, joe walsh is the man but you cannot say he's better than PAIGE! joe walsh would smack you in the face for saying that, next your gonna say zeps over rated.

  • @kooljeffy Sure you can say that. Technically he plays more advanced songs, and with more emotion.

It's like Gary Moore. He got insulted when people compared him to Jimmy Page.

  • @Karius7 Ya i meen and everyone has different styles they played jimmy is great in his own right and same with joe. its a never ending debate

  • @Karius7

Another example is when people compared Gary Moore to Greeny... He didnt like it even know I think personally that Moore is a better guitarist than peter green

  • @Karius7 you can SAY that , and I can say you're full of SHIT. Gary Moore = YAWN

  • @Karius7

two different cats....Pete Townsend thinks the world of Joe. Pagey is Pagey. They all stand out as grats, but Joe is just one of the best American "gunslingers".

anyway, the blues at the front of this with Steve Cropper is off-the-hook !!

  • @kooljeffy joe walsch is better than paige

  • @rockfan01234 learn to spell artists names , and realize that better depends on what you like to listen to . I find it amazing that so many folks don't understand that .

  • @kooljeffy He is a cleaner guitarist and not sloppy like Jimmy. I love Zeppelin but if it wasn't for Robert Plant they would be nothing !!

  • @KDR16fly Actually they all made that band. Bonzo is the best rock drummer in history, John Paul Jones is a great bassist and songwriter, and say what you want about Jimmy, he came up with some cool shit. And Plant's the man, too.

  • @kooljeffy Damnit, both are great. Walsh is underrated.

Don't forget that Page's #1 Les Paul was sold to him by Joe. That guitar was very important for rock.

I like both for what they did.

  • @kooljeffy can u even spell pAGE?.

  • @kooljeffy settling this. no guitarist is greater then the other due to there DRASTIC difference in styles. its not about skill at all, its about the style you like.

  • 2:53 Joe wanted to play funky, but the other keep on bluesing!

  • One of best cuts I have ever herd, and he is better than Jimmy Page !!

  • Steve, Duck and Joe... I just shit down both legs.

  • @coal4life Can't take you anywhere...here wipe it up...

  • I'm pretty sure that's Steven Seagal.

  • 5:12-6:00...drummer is feeeeelin it! NICE!!

  • The drummer is all like;

    "Any time Joe"

And Joe is all like "No you got this".

    What a tease

  • i suddenly felt good.

  • About 100,000 times better than Jimmy Page.

  • nice shoes joe haha, oh man joe is the man

  • Holy Be g sus ...thats Steve Cropper playin the blues with Joe He was the guitarist with Booker T and the MGs.

  • @TheStampedehero 'The Colonel' is in my opinion, is one of the top five guitarists of all time. I've seen him play numerous times at the annual Rhythm & Blues fest here in Newport, RI...He's absolutely brilliant!. I would have never known who he was w/out The Blues Brothers, and thanks to that I got into Booker T... Two guitar legends up there on that stage.

  • @TheStampedehero

    And the Blues Brothers.

  • The Blues Brothers Band migrated to Joe Walsh.... I totally understand why. Joe actually had a cameo in the origial blues brothers, Joe is the Funkiest man alive.... I unnerstand. God bless them. God Bless Joe Walsh, he wrote this song for me.

  • more like I can't quit you baby by Led Zeppelin in the beginning ahaha

  • the band from the movie the blues brothers huh? seen this video alot, and i barely noticed...

  • Jessica Biel at 3:50 ?

  • "Never had a song dedicated to them"........a man of the people, for the people, sustained (no guitar-pun intended) by the people. He's a most UNDERRATED genius! Go Joe!

  • Well hell! STEVE CROPPER from Booker T and The MGs!

  • Joe Walsh is one of, if not THE greatest guitarist of all time!

  • Jack Cassidy on Bass..

  • @ChynaRider Actually that's Donald Duck Dunn on bass.

  • @Tattdgoose yeah well tell DDD he needs to learn this tune (Funk #49) he obviously doesn't know it, but his musicianship gets him thru..still he plays it wrong..

  • @Tattdgoose Its Booker T & the MG's as the whole backing band

  • whos that playing the drums hes killin it in that solo

  • @asthepalacesburn1000 I'm pretty sure it's Willie Hall. Joe has the original Booker T and the MG's backin him. AWSOME!!

  • @asthepalacesburn1000 Steve Potts, I believe he still is playing some with Booker T and the MGs.

  • thats not funk#49 its 48

  • "I'd like to dedicate this song to everyone who's never had a song dedicated to them." Darn, I thought I was the first one to make that up....

  • Nice rhythm section there Mr. Walsh!

  • Uhhuh-----Sneaky 'lil sob's ain't they--LOL lov'n it!! =D

  • This video should be called 'Steve Cropper Featuring Joe Walsh'

  • @zapwatt Booker T and the MG's feat. Joe

  • Joe Walsh is a smart, funny Irish-American who plays great guitar.

  • The tones on those 2 guitars are just straight fukin bitchin'. Damn that sounds sweet.

  • if the 'DUDE' WAS A MUSICIAN IT WOULD BE BIG JW

  • @ mattenukombaka

I remember Denis Leary saying that. He also said:

"One word for Axl Rose: SOAP! Okay?!?"

  • Best performance ever.

  • Joe Walsh & James Gang . My idol forever.

  • for the love of music___who is that time monster on the drums ?__after this, wear the snare like a hat__tor up

  • a) this is blues, not funk b) Is Joe Walsh semi-retarded?

  • @MrDrummerguy33 Funk49 starts arround 3:40, before that it IS a blues jam

  • @MrDrummerguy33 He was an alcoholic in his younger day's, it's messed him up quite a bit. Not retarded though.

  • WTF Jump you lame ass fans its Joe Fuckin Walsh

  • @RuggedHawaiian The people not going insane, to be with JW playing Funk 49, are same people that would not know Joplin, Lennon, Hendrix, Morrison if they would walk up to them. Have you checked out [the older stuff] Nazareth, Rush, Yes, Uriah Heap, Cream? Rock on Rugged and Joe Walsh. When I was about 3 years old, 44 now, we lost some of the most talented musicians of our era in short order, treasure the ones that remain.

  • Play that shit like you own it...

  • ‎"I got two words for Don Henley: Joe Fuckin' Walsh, okay?" - Denis Leary (1990s MTV commercial)

  • is that donald "duck" dunn -> the bass player?and its steve cropper?2nd guitar player

  • @nohitwonder oh yeah.

  • @nohitwonder yes and yes

  • @nohitwonder Yep. Sure is!

  • 28 people don't know what real music is!

  • 6:51 is that morgen freemn ?

  • Fuckin' Joe ! Hey !

  • 28 people are married to Joe Walsh's ex groupies

  • Thats also Steve Cropper! You shouldn't have forgotten him! He's one of the most influential session guitarists ever, he recorded all the Stax records back in the days ...

  • @amberden4

    wat guitar center

  • I want his shoes .

  • everybody say he's cool

  • wouldn't ya love to be that loose playin guitar! I could listen to that all day long. Nice....

  • i aint no homo (least not flaming) but i love joe walsh

35+ year bromance and we sleep in separate rooms but

(actually i sleep on the couch mostly - long story) joe you da man

  • do not get on here and talk about SRV he will always be the best. get your ears ckeck

  • Joe Walsh is an Irishman with the humor and a great player.

  • Rofl. Who spiked his lemonade? Lmao

  • Joe Walsh with Booker T and the MG's awesome

  • When I was 18, I played at a party and someone said I sounded like a hybrid of Joe Walsh and Stevie Ray. I said "Stevie who"?

I took it as a compliment, but today I know it was a better compliment than I realized then. Joe is every bit a rocker as Stevie was the bluesman.

  • @nolobede haha joe walsh loves the blues and smokes it :3

  • @MainganDbz Yupp, I agree, but SRV smokes a bigger blues blunt. He's slightly out of Joes reach... barely though. But Joe rocks better than SRV.

  • @nolobede with out a doubt man

  • @nolobede Joe does rock better...but didn't SRV do the guitar on Bowie's "Putting Out Fire (With Gasoline)" because THAT was some badass guitar...

  • @darkmike333

...I'm trying to think... When did SRV do anything less than "bad ass guitar"?

  • the 70's were way too cool. and i was a teenager.

  • @bigtoe1111 damn your old! JK. The 70's was a music revalation!

  • They must have grabbed the drummer out of the audience as a last-minute replacement -- he's playing something very different from Funk #49. No cowbell solo! That sucks!

  • I love how around 2:20 the talk with there guitars♥ the faces they make are great I love you guys rock on for ever and always!♥

  • I love how around 2:20 the talk with there guitars♥ the faces they make are great I love you guys rock on for ever and always!♥

  • Nice live version...good vibe!!!

  • Most guitarists come with a huge pedalboard racked with all sorts of crazy effects, not Joe. He has a boss Super Overdrive and Digital Delay. Not to mention the occasional wah.

  • Love his face at 2:45 !

  • lyrics start at 4:00

  • lyrics start at 4:30 if anybody wants to know :).... sorry its 400
