  • really? so there is no protection other than Termidor? How about borate preventative foaming which does not let termites to touch the wood at the first place?

  • She forgot to mention that before laying a poly barrier. You need to make sure you remove any celulose debris, ( Wood, Cardboard, Paper, etc.. ) If you don't do this then the barrier can just create a safe haven for the termites and before long you have a huge problem. A single termite colony can destroy a solid 1ft of a 2X4 in a single day. Termidor is the best stuff out when used properly and the only way you can get it is being a Certified Operator. So check Kudzo and call a Pro.

  • CTC is an idiot, There are NO SECRETS in the termite industry, other than the real secret is we all work hard to make money. Go ahead and do it yourself and see what happens. Not all termite companies are a rip off, so take your book and shove it moron.

  • The only secret in termite work is that baiting systems are the best method of ripping your client off.

The Big companies that insist on only using baiting systems that they know will ultimately fail to stop concealed termite entry should be given the flick and made accountable to the ACCC for lying to their clients and telling them that chemical zones are illegal. This is whats happening here in Australia any way.

  • theres nothing wrong with someone trying to solve the problem themselves to save some money slick ,what company do you work for ?

  • It is my privilege to help homeowners understand termites and the threat they impose on your home.Checkout my You Tube Channel for more info on my handbook that also teaches you how not to be ripped off by a termite company. For the do-it-yourselfer I offer easy solutions using pesticide free remedies in my eBook TOP SECRETS OF THE TERMITE INDUSTRY.

  • well its time to sell a dehu in the crawl space

  • forget ur plastic you need to have good ventilation so that there is no moisture. all the plastic will do is creat another concealed area that can not be inspected.

  • so then you sell them a dehumifer

  • Yep he is right, the plastic in the crawl space just creates moisture and termites love it

  • plastic does not CAUSE moisture. Any moisture trapped below the plastic barrier is rising out of the soil below.

If no vapor barrier, than that HUMIDITY or DAMPNESS WILL enter the wooden structure above. GOTUBE114 is correct in his statement.

DECKA, I have NO clue of what you are trying to say. But in the video above, it is a dirt floor crawlspace. There is no construction preparation in this type of crawl.

  • that plastic in the crawl space will create moisture between the plastic and the soil i think the crawl space aka the sub floor should be kept clear of everythng

  • Actually the plastic helps reduce rising damp in crawlspace. Moisture makes the wood structure wet whis is a conducive condition for wood rot, termites and mold. If grade moisture is excessive then the cause of it should be addressed.

  • I thought rising damp only occurred through brick and stone walls or footings by capillary action when a damp course has not been laid down during construction.
