the reason the microwave failed is they have a high start-up around 2000 watts. using that car alternator sends out around 500 or 1000 watts depending on the model rpms etc. but if you used a big inverter off the battery's it could start the microwave.
Pure hillbilly, I love it!!!! Now I can build me an emergency generator for the house. Noise I ain't worried about. If it stops running ether it's outa gas or someone took of with it.
DUDE ! dude, this is such a great video, not just the alternator, I have seen those before, but the conversion of the bus, thats fantastic. I have dreams myself of doing such a thing.
haha, that's pretty damn neat. Me and my dad did something similar when we were out at a ranch and a wiring problem killed the truck. We took apart an old vacuum cleaner and hooked up the motor to the alternator of the truck to charge the battery back up.. fun times lol
The lawnmower engine runs the alternator, which can then be hooked to any battery through the battery cables. From the battery an inverter converts the 12V DC into 110V AC
Considering that mower has 4 hp on it then may you can add more alternator (windblue) to it and more batteries so that you run your lawnerator short times to just charge batteries. this is more efficient use of your gas on your lawnerator
The engine almost gets over powered by that alternator when there's a heavy load on the batterys... I've almost stalled the mower a few times - I doubt it's got enough power to run 2 alternators.
I might add a separate battery bank down the road, I could also put an isolator in my bus to charge them while driving. That way I can run off the batteries longer.

I would think that you would have no problem running two of those off that same engine and get twice the input.

@Edricofifrit how did you power the motor?
frofro9997 1 year ago
@frofro9997 110VAC, there was plenty of that, just no battery charger or anything

tthe noise! no good!

the price! 37 bucks... plus most generators are noisy. I did end up buying a coleman powermate generator, but still use this to jump start cars.

You have this hooked up to a battery right? or just running it striaght from the altenator lol
