Are those betta fry? I was feeding my with microworms only, and at the end they didn't develop ventral fins and had swimming anomaly. So after that i never used microworms as primary food, but artemia.
@sdgsdf45 No, you can't, because microworms need air to live. Once in the water they will drown and die quickly, and rot at the bottom of the tank. That will kill your fry VERY fast. You have to feed just what the fry will eat in a few minutes, because they won't eat dead worms once they drown. Breeding bettas is not easy, it takes a lot of work and commitment. No shortcuts!
Actually microworms live for up to 24 hours in water. At least, that's what I've read. Although it looked like that you had a lot of microworms at the bottom, so much that the fish got confused which to pick :p
god damn them frys are huge.. good job.. how do you feed the micro worms?? you guy told me to use Qtips but i was wondering do i wet it first or just scoop the micros.
I had 2 spawns, one blue and one white, in the tank together. So yeah, the white thing is a white fry. Unfortunately none of them lived...I'm still learning!
oh my goodness, i'm totes jelly. i've got about two week old fry, but as they were unexpected i have no microworms. hoping they make even just a little longer!
Do adult bettas eat microworms? My white female refused daphnia, pellets, and flake food, and she seems to be perfectly healthy. I checked on Bettatalk to try and find a diagnosis, but I've found nothing... I keep her in a five-gallon aquarium, planted nicely, and a very gentle filter.
today my second betta made lot of foam on top of tank soon means im gona have some more babys,BUT I STILL CANT FIND MICROWORMS NOWHERE,EVEN BBS...WHAT ELSE U BETTABREEDERS RECOMEND TO ME.the only one thing i can have now is yolk eggs.
well u could get a bucket of water put some lettice in it for a few days and feed em the lettice.... cant remember what its called but its some kind of natural food i think
I am saying to greypaw300 that no, that is not infusia, that is micro worms which can be seen with the naked eye when infusia can not. It can only bee seen as cloudy water. no idea what infusia fry are.......

sorry, I have very limited internet access right now and I'm posting this from my phone! Find a website called Betta Breeders-they are all experienced breeders and wonderful people, they will be glad to help you! Warning-they can get a bit silly....

I am feeding BBS now, the fry are doing great! They are small for their age but many betta breedersin my area are noticing the same thing, nobody knows why. Must be something in the water, lol!
awesome! I thought microworms were only fed to the fry for only a couple of days after they hatch. I guess I was wrong. What species were the parents? VT, CT or HM?
They are, I got bad information. The ones that are small are some CT but mostly HM. But since I switched to BBS they are growing, so hopefully they will be big enough to go to their new homes soon!
good to hear you have chosen to feed them BBS as they are much more nutritional and will bring out the full potential of your bettas. Your doing great, keep up the good work!
nicely-shot video, you can actually see the fry grabbing the worms!

infusia is microscopic.
They are not eating infusia in this vid.
They are eating micro worms. They do like to eat infusia until they grow big enough to eat micro worms.
No need to flat out attack me on the first comment, but look it up dude.
