Haha, I used to watch this show when I was really little, and I was in love with it! But Now that I'm watching it, i'm cringing.... Poor animation, spider-man isnt allowed to punch anyone, and the storylines and dialogue are so badly written and edited its tough to watch. Ah well, nostalgia trumps all, I'm still watching.

In my opinion the 90's spider man is better than the toon from the 60's and "spiderman and his amazing friends" because while the latter both seemed comical and fun, the spider man of the 90's was darker and more serious, and was interesting to watch unfold.

The plot of almost episode goes like this:

Spiderman/ Peter Parker coincidently sees the new villian commit a crime.

Spiderman fights villian using his powers and loses.

Spiderman fights villian and wins using ingenuity or secret weapon.

You can find this same plot in lots of other movies and tv shows too. I think it's the "magic formula."

Although you are a little harsh in the way you put it, I do agree that the cartoon did much more justice to the characters then the movie.

For example, Venom was an awesome rival on this show..but he died like a wuss in the movie, not to mention he referred to himself as "I" rather then "we".

Also..if you watch the cartoon you can notice that Parker should be more of a handsome muscular type..not a skinny crying annoyance like Tobey Mcguire.

exactly, peter parker was only really a wuss like tobey maguire early on. through spiderman he learned to be cool and confident, and he showed real maturity. tobey maguire exudes none of these qualities.

and his voice is pathetic....to me THIS is the definitive voice of spiderman.
