Those are just reference to get you started, you would have to try it yourself and go from there. tuning depends heavily on other factor like weather condition, fuel, and glow plug, etc.
Hey man I got a MGT8.0 also man, but the truck is giving me a hell of trouble with the tuning. Would yoou please give me somegood advise in how to tune my truck as good as your truck is running. Please man I am asking for your help!!
You need to sealed the carb, and check your fuel tubing for air leak, you also need to use good fuel (Byron's or O'Donnell) otherwise the tuning will be all over the place. Tune by ears and not by engine temperature as well. If the above factory default needles setting is way too rich then you can try my needle settings and see if it helps: High End - 2 1/2 to 2 1/3 turns out, Low End - 5 to 5 1/4 turns out, Metering - 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out. Idle - 1.2mm.
The nova head actualy helps with performance alowing a cooler engine thus being able to run a little leaner.....I put coper springs all the way around on mine also i like it nice vid btw
Were you able to use the original servo saver that came with your mgt when you installed that spectrum servo?

Set all your needles to factory default first:
High End Needle - 3 turns out
Low End Needle - 5 1/2 turns (Carb must be at full open when doing this adjustment)
Metering Screw - 1 turn out. ( Do while carb is still at full open),
That should bring head about even with the back of the carb housing. Once set, do not change!
Idle setting - 1.2mm

hows the nova cooling head? i heard some people say that they make performance worse.
jmey107 2 years ago
dropped 40' degree with the Nova cooling head so now the engine is running at 180~190 constantly instead of 220~230.
ben805 2 years ago
but has performance declined?
jmey107 2 years ago
nova head is must have upgrade, DO NOT tune by the engine temperature with the nova head on, you would need to tune by ears.
