My budgies from years ago had babies.... I was like 7 at the time and was freaking out because there were white eggs in their cage... The pet story we bought them from forgot to mention that they were not all female.... Hence, unexpected babies...
@AllAboutBudgies did you put the bedding in the nest box for the budgies....i was told they like to put the bedding in themselves.... i just bought some budgies i have some questions can ou leave me your meail address
@689321546 Although some female budgies will lay on the floor It is required if your going to breed them that you provide them with a nest box. I recommend you visit my budgie website link is in my channel page. I have a page dedicated to breeding budgies
If u feel u got a pair ready to breed when they kissing just start giving them lots of boiled rice spinach and calcium chunk of salt and clay . U will see how fast they start laying eggs.
Makes you wonder how their dinosaurian ancestors incubated their egg, you know, considering how massive they were. Obviously sitting on them was out of the question for all but the smaller species. Must've had to put them under leaves and soil to keep them warm. My sister's budgie, btw, has lost none of the dinosaur attitude, I swear. The thing acts like a miniature T-Rex, biting everything in sight (whereas my Juliet was by far the sweetest creature i have ever seen) :P Personality: they got it
The animal mother instinct is just amazing, the parent pushed the baby and some of her eggs underneath to keep them warm, it's great to see videos like this, thanks to youtube and you for uploading it.
@heckmayster2 Its bedding.. It works better than wooden shavings. Shavings are more dangerous than the eco friendly recycled bedding that I use. I think you are out of YOUR mind. Ignorance is bliss and so are you.
Budgies dont breed in nests they have caves. BUT never forget there can be a lot of complication which can happen. If you dont even know how they grew up I think its not a good idea to let them have babys yet. Read a lot about it and start just after it!
@dubstepISbetter Thank you for commenting and watching. I think that before you take the task of breeding budgies, its best if you do all the research possible about the care of budgies. I suggest you go to my website. budgies101.weebly.com You will find the answers to your questions here.
You mentioned in one of your responses that you have a lot of expirience with budgies and tiels... I got two tiels from my friend and they are really crazy... It seems as if they are terrifyed of any type of human contact! The female, Cher, always flies around the cage and a lot of the time gets out whenever I go in to change their water. And her mate, Sunny, bites anything that moves...HARD! I also have two budgies and I was wondering if it was normal for the female to mount the male...
@cuteziegirl Tiels are prone to night frights and are very unstable. My first tiel came from a home where he was starved and abused.. He always seem terrified when I would change its water and always came at me as thought he wanted to bite me. My handfed tiels didn't have that issue they did have night frights, A way to reduce night frights is to introduce a night light. Sounds dumb but it works.
@AllAboutBudgies Thanks for the advice. I have a fish tank in my room aswell, would leaving that light on at night work well enough? Because a couple nights I have left it on and the next morning my tiels seemed more mellow...
@winkiedinkielive Thank you for posting, I did hand feed it. I tried saving it, but he was born a day late and was considerably pale. I have had a lot of experience with budgies and cockatiels, so much experience that I knew he wasn't going to make it. They now have 5 healthy chicks that are about to fledge. I will post a video soon so check back . Thank you.
@Spring1234777 Ive done it with 90% success. I have hand fed a newly hatched parakeet and cockatiel. Its very hard and takes a lot of energy and determination. A newly hatched parakeet has to be fed every two hours that means no sleep for the first two weeks
omg never seen them that small before! how small!

You shouldn't bother them when they are so tiny. It can damage their eyes (even if they are closed).

@winkiedinkielive ive heard that the chances of successfully hand raising a baby that young are extremely low
