I don't particularly like FOX, but I do have to say that this is one of the better sports opening themes I've heard. I'm not sure why FOX decided to use their NFL theme as their generic "all sports" theme. I guess it was better known, but it takes personality away from their other sports broadcasts.

I think for the 2011 Daytona 500, out of respect for Dale Sr., Jr. needs to drive the 3 car. Also, Fox needs to go back to the format they used for the 2001 500, including the graphics and theme music, starting grid music and all other aspects of it, from the Running Order ticker to the starting grid graphics to the crew that worked the race in 2001. Having watched the 2001 race, I think the production was much better and way cooler.

I was around 4 or 5 in the early 2000's and I loved NASCAR. I stopped watching in 2007 when the car of tomorrow (wing) was put in placeand Toyota was brought in. This is an AMERICAN SPORT and rednecks actually care what the mamufactor is! This was my first full year of watching it again and NASCAR in 1990's and early 2000's was much more entertaining to watch and follow. The Car Of Tommorow makes everything more even than it was in those times and the only thing it benefitted was safety.

When they started that contest for naming the golpher a few years ago, I thought they'd just name it, add a few more slightly lulzy animations of him dodging cars when it cuts to the golpher cam, and leave it alone, not make an absurd, time-filling (rather than doing actual interviews, which people would like to see in a pre-race show) series out of it!

I know. Listening to this brings back so many memories of 2001-2002. When I watched the SPEED Channel for NASCAR TV, I would hear this everywhere. My favorite part about them using this was Winston Cup drivers promoting the channel (i.e. "I'm Mark Martin & I feel the Need For Speed"). Hopefully, FOX Sports will bring this back for their NASCAR broadcasts.
