  • uhh married with children anyone lol

  • Getting Your Degree On Line in todays hectic world in the only way to go. My Daughter done over half of hew college courses online making it a lot easier to get her Degree. So I agree with them getting your degree online is the only way to go.

    computersciencec..com

  • @losesweight what did she get her degree in?

  • What gives? Not much discussion on the new book "You Have A College Degree, Now What?" Not sure why though.

  • Earning an online degree is a best way to improve and enhance you academically. People who are involved in job and other responsibilities don't have enough time to join regular courses. Online mode of education gives you an advantage to earn online degree right from home comfort with flexible time schedule.

  • I'm doing the WGU IT program and I have to say it's awesome. My employer of over 10,000 pays almost half the tuition, and since 9 of my classes include certifications I get emails from AVPs from work congratulating me on the progress. So it IS accepted.

It IS online, except for the proctored tests. No one would value a degree that is earned with no accountability.

And someone complained about phone calls? I talk to my mentor once every two weeks for 15 minutes get over it.

  • @kymatt19 Yeah I think the fact that our objective and performance assessments are proctored is awesome. No one can say that we cheated our way through school. I am in the business IT program and I think WGU is the best online school out there. Next term I will have more than enough money leftover to buy books, supplies, a new computer and even pay bills and that sort of thing. I love the course mentors and the faculty and staff at WGU. They really do want us to succeed. WGU is awesome.

  • Do not listen to people who are not students. With the exception of necessary live clinicals for in class requirements for certification in teaching degrees, it is ALL online. You do go to a local college and take some of the finals with a proctor. That is just to assure you do not cheat. But they are free for the first 3 attempts, $60 for the 4th attempt. If you live in Utah or Arizona you can get addtional financial aid as that is where the "PHYSICAL" WGU is located.

  • I am more than half way done with my bachelors in business management. I took 62 credits this year. If you know the material you can test right through. You can take as many credits as you can fit and pass into any 6 month period/semester. Yearly costs $5800. Masters is $3700 per semester/6 months. I will be finishing with a masters from WGU in about 2 1/2 years. A bachelors and masters in about 3 1/2 years. And its accredited as well.

  • It's not all online they want to talk to you on the phone so much I can't even get a strait awnser so I can get enrolled and start taking classes on my time.

  • any MSN students here?

  • Good thing that you are not an HR manager cochranexyz. I wonder which accrediting body covers your school? Post that here and then we can talk.

  • great tips and information

  • Great video to encourage anyone to take a degree online

  • WGU is making my dreams come true! You will love it too. Yep it's all about the kids!

This school allows moms the opportunity to still be a great mom and earn a degree.

  • I'm near wrapping my MBA at WGU. This very flexible program is the only way I would be able to accomplish this.

  • So would you say you are happy with your decision in WGU? And would you recommend it to others?

  • Hopefully, the people in the spot are NOT in the Theater Arts program at WGU!

I love WGU and I am in my final few months of my BS in Business Management program. I appreciate that I was able to make use of my previous classes as well as my work experience. This is a great program for the person who is wanting to complete their programs, but maintain their regular life and work.

  • I am in my third term getting my BS in accounting. This ad is cute and corny at the same time. I am so happy that I found WGU. It has given me the opportunity to resume my education in my spare time, what little there is.

  • I am in the Bachelor of Arts in Social Science (5-12) program, and I absolutely love it. WGU has an excellent competency-based program of studies. Highly recommended and they are accredited by many different accrediting agencies. NCATE accreditation is the most important.

  • It's a year later... Do you still love WGU and would you recommend it to others? I am considering enrolling in WGU and I just want some honest opinion from people who have finished their degrees.

  • @chinesemusicDJ Definately give WGU a try. It's a great school and it's very affordable. I attend WGU right now, and I am VERY happy with it. I would certainly recommend it to strangers. I have recommended WGU to everyone that I have met that expressed a desire to return to school.

  • @cpalme5 How much is tuition and what program are you in? I'm 21 and right now I am working part-time at a daycare and want to eventually be either a preschool teacher or elementary teacher. And do they accept credits from other colleges?

  • I am in my first semester at WGU in the Math Education 5-9 program. I am a foster mom of two girls 6 & 8 at the moment, I work full time, my husband travels with work and I am ver involved in church. I somehow find time to get through my online school work and still make the grades! I would never be able to do this at a traditional school....Give it a try!

  • Yes, the video is goofball, but I'm very pleased with WGU. I was unsure about online degrees, but love my teaching program. There are pros and cons to online programs, of course. If you are going into teaching GO FOR IT. You won't get a better education from a traditional program. Excellent. I've been in the K-8 program for 2 semesters, with a toddler at home.

  • I think the video is a great complement to the other media WGU uses to promote the university. I started at WGU in November working on my BS in Business Management. I am happy I made that choice.

  • I just graduated from WGU's BA Mathematics 5-12 program. It was affordable, rigorous, and great preparation for teaching high school level math. It took me two years and I'm REALLY happy I did it!

Unfortunately, this web ad is super corny. Don't let it dissuade you from checking out WGU's programs. With their competency-based credit system, you really can make the most of the knowledge you've acquired on your own.

  • I love the video...especially the mom on the skateboard! Nice touch :)

I am entering my fourth term at WGU, and will be doing my demonstration teaching in the fall. I have loved the flexibility offered by WGU, allowing me to earn my BA, while still being home with my two young kids.

  • Good luck to everyone starting DT on Monday... I start around the 15th. I am a nervous wreck!

  • I'm in my third year with WGU and it has been a positive experience thus far. As a stay at home mom of 3, a traditional college would not have met my needs. Thanks to WGU, I'm looking forward to graduating next year!

  • I have been working on my Bachelor's in Math Education (5th-12th) from this college since May of last year. As a military spouse who is constantly changing her location, it has been a god-send. They have a high accreditation, it's a great program, you can obtain certification in most states.

I have a wonderful mentor who helps guide my progress and if I get stuck, I get referred to a professional teacher who can further assist me with that particular subject.

  • I will be starting my student teaching on Monday. If it weren't for WGU I would not have been able to fulfill my dream of teaching. WGU rocks!

  • I'm beginning DT on Monday, too. No way could I be in this position with 3 kids and a husband had I needed to attend a traditional 'bricks-and-mortar' school.

  • This video explains how school should be. WGU lets you login and learn when its easy for you to do so. With the excellent mentors and support team at WGU, you're sure to succeed.

  • I think it's great! It really gives people the reasons WGU is a goo way to go. The learning resources are great. I've learned a lot and didn't have to worry about what I already know. It just made the assignments easier.

  • I love the video - It is all the reasons I am going to WGU. I am almost done with my Masters and love the whole experience. Cost, flexibility, and I have been surprised at how much I realy have learned - Who knew, I thought I already knew it all!

  • Great idea to advertise here! I started my degree in business managment with WGU in Feb. of this year. I work a full-time job, have two small business from home as well as a family. A flexible school schedule and the ability to work at my own pace has been excellent for me. Above all, WGU is afforadable! I have had a great experience thus far.

  • this is pretty cool. i started my MBA at WGU in june, and it's going really well.

  • Go Western Governors University online! I can get my degree and still have a life. EXCELLENT!

  • Short to the point, good commercial. I am totally gonna sign up.

  • I love WGU. I started in October. Great video.
