the ability to learn stuff without actually trying to meaning he supernaturally learns how things work

with that power he reverse engineers another superpowerd human(thus killing them) and after learning how their powers work he copies their dna(he does not absorb dna he copies dna)

and so thats how he gains powers he also seems to have a form of empathic mimicry (accordin to wikipedia)
