Though I too love the Alan Menken and Howard Ashman/Stephen Schwartz music, I think this particular medley was supposed to concentrate on just some of the early *early* disney classics. You're right, about the 1950s and 60's or so.

But I thought the performance was fantastic :D Reminded me of walking through Disneyland.

I'm proud to say I played in the Waialua High School band while under the direction of Mr. Ison.

I think it's safe to say he brought the band program to new heights while he taught there. I remember doing a number of Disney compositions while playing there.

"Candle On the Water" is from Pete's Dragon. That year, we did an entire Disney theme for our marching band. I was one half of a duet that backed up a singer for that number. Ah, the memories!
