tristandc, you're sadly mistaken. I know the people who went on this trip overseas, and I can tell you that it was God's love that motivated them so. No one was denied medical help based on religious preference, nor was anyone pressured to "convert". So check your judgemental attitude... these people left their comfortable homes (and raised tens of thousands of dollars worth of medical supplies) to help those less fortunate. When, I ask you, was the last time *you* went to Transnistria?

Well... To begin with, they're not communist, they have a free market system. Also, they do have a president but not a dictator.. there are free elections/free speech/freedom to worship (as you see- not that its doing them any good). They do not forbid opposition parties in Transnistria. Of course, there are abuses and there is probably plenty of graft as well. I just hope this poor people aren't being pressured out of Evangelism to get medical care.

The USA and EU now agree that transnistria "is not a free country", and their elections have never been ratified by any monitoring organisation other than Russia's. Go figure.

Also I'd use the term free market very loosely in this context, virtually all industry and commerce that's been privatised has been sold to Sheriff, a company owned by the 'president's' son. Again, go figure lol.

So if you make conclusions based on the holiday manifestation with red flags or any symbol of EXURSS remaining on the country you wrong.
