FF8 we have eyes on me. FF9 we got melodies of life. Now, we have THIS. Gosh, why Squaresoft make so many masterpieces? That's because that's squaresoft, not enix. Oh, forgot One-winged Angel from FF7. Those songs are the true entities of the FF franchise. Aside from the FF7 one, the others will always make you cry whenever you listen to it.
I hope down the track, a HD remake of FFX will be made. I've tried to discard all bias and look at this game in the most objective manner as possible and I cannot seem to tear away from the opinion that FFX is the most complete and dare I say it, perfect game that I have ever come across. Every aspect that is, the music, art, the story and its development, characters, gaming qualities all contemplate each other and melds into a undeniably beautiful combination that exudes clarity, flow and....

@pj1231 ...I have for the people who made FFX is boundless and inexpressible and I'm sure most people who have come to play and love FFX will agree with my sentiments. I was originally going to post "FFX is the perfect game" but found that while listening to "Suteki da ne", 5 words were not sufficient enough to express my opinion. Sorry for my selfishness. @pj1231 While FFX is probably my favorite game ever I can find a couple things wrong with it, mainly the combat. Some Charatcers are way OP Rikku, Wakka, Tidus, While some fall to the sidelines really fast such as Auron, Kihmari, and Lulu once Yuna learns black magic. I hope the buff Kihmaris and Aurons ODs, Rebalance the sphere grid so every character is more viable and make Steal and Use less abusable.
@xxANBUxx Fair point you got there but personally, I found that having other characters learn different parts of the sphere grid, for e.g. Yuna learning black magic, it really helped me in conquering much harder enemies like the ones in the monster arena, dark aeons or Penance. Just knowing that other characters can utilise certain skills, magic and so on, opens up the strategy a bit more. I agree with you totally on the fact that Rikku, wakka and Tidus are OP and other issues you raised.
@xxANBUxx My team after Luca was ALWAYS: Tidus, Auron and Wakka. And i have them learn Magic even though their obviously not as strong as Yuna and Lulu. After getting the Airship, my main 3 become severely overpowered because I had a LOT of time on my hands back then. I see what you mean by the need to make the characters more viable.
@pj1231 A remake of FFX was already announced o.O, lol cant believe you didnt hear about it. it was announced at TGS 2011. Its coming out on PS3 and Vita and its in the early stages when they announced it. but that was kinda awhile ago. So all we gotta do is wait =] a couple more months till they come out with a video.
You know My biggest regret of this game is that I've never beat it. I was at the final boss but because It was my first RPG and my inexperience with it, I just quit and wanted to start over. unfortunatly I never got to it. ever since then, I've played one FF game after another trying to make up for giving up and now I think I'm going to buy a ps2 and this game again to try again and make up for not trying hard enough.

This was my first fantasy so I may sound a bit biased. Out of all the Final Fantasy games, there is no other game like this. This has the most beautiful landscape, and the most beautiful characters. Not only their look but their development. Tidus' hatred towards Jecht, Yuna's becoming more assertive, Wakka opening his mind a little bit, Lulu moving past the pain of losses, Rikku just wanted her cousin to live, Auron fulfilling a promise, & Kimahri facing his past.
@stevo6456 I would actually prefer complete transformations of the Fantasies before VII with 3D models and voice actors. V and VI have been deserving for quite a while.
i think the reason they dont do that is because they weren't very widely available in the US, so no one would really buy it, i mean, FF is already one of the least popular franchises at this point. V and VI never really went down as cult classics, thats why they are remaking X, and they throw references to VII in countless titles (kingdom hearts games anyone)

Yes everything up front about the game was as good as it could have been, but in truth, the game's story is like that of the world, at the time it was made. Sin, the worst thing to happen to the planet-Global Clmate Change, or War, or any of the big events that were happening, or all of them. This game was a reflection of the real world. That's what makes it last for me. And it's perfect. ;)
@lando0092 There are many reasons this game is successful. The reason I loved it was because there was not a single bad character, and not one that was better than another. I adored all of them and felt as if I had to help them through their burden (even though I just fight for them) and I needed to see them find closure one way or another.
@justa16thnote yes you sound biased man, but who cares? It's a Final Fantasy, maybe the last REAL Final Fantasy, so enjoy it and love it. For me the best one is FFIX, but I've to admit, every FF I've played so far was wonderful (except XII & XIII)
1)Cloud, Cecil, Squall, and Terra were also Insecure teenagers/young adults. I'm sure one of those is a favorite of yours.
2)Lulu went from bitch to compassionate. Kimahri; reserved to involved. Wakka; dumbass to informed dumbass. Rikku never needed to develop. She was herself the whole time.

Technically Yevon WAS the final boss. And after getting my ass kicked in the monster dome i was glad Yevon was easy to beat. (Just Zombie him and sit back x3)
@Ghostgirl777 Yevon was just to end the story. Yevon was easy for a reason: it's power came from the Aeon it possessed. Without an aeon it is what it is: a worthless bug (with a lot of HP). Jecht was the true final boss. It closed Auron's story of fulfilling a promise, it closed Yuna's story of defeating (what controlled) Sin and, more importantly, it closed Tidus' story which was defeating the darkness his father put in his mind while at the same time embracing him.
@justa16thnote 'YU YEVON' Was the final boss. And if you beat him it cut to the only real ending this final fantasy needed. It was real heartwarming to see Tidus and Yuna reunite or Yuna get her closure in FFX-2, but this game was entirely the best only because of itself. Now stop your bitching, sure your understanding of the importance of Jecht as a end-game boss is good, but it was only after they all end their stories completely that the final battle can really begin. And Yu Yevon was it.
@lando0092 Sad as it is that Yu Yevon was a joke, impossible to lose on, but still, It had to be Jecht to tie the loose end stories up, then Yu Yevon to tie the main story up. That's why Yu Yevon should be seen as the final boss, and since in chronological order he is x3.
Yes, Yu Yevon is the literally the final boss. Good for you. The epic final battle is with Jecht and every epic final battle in FF has been the last one of the game. Chaos, Mateus, CoD, Zemus, ExDeath, Kefka, Sephiroth, and Vayne were the final bosses to end the character's stories along with the game but Ultimecia, Ozma, and Yu Yevon were sort of 'out of nowhere' bosses. Yu Yevon to a lesser degree.

@Sodamnfoxy I have nothing against FFVII, it's a good game. However, it's way overhyped. Cloud is a whiny bitch who never develops beyond that. Tidus is a whiny bitch at the beginning and I hated him, but by the end he was a likable character because he actually /developed/.

@Lawrence4Roosters You know i played both and i have to say your going to be disappointed. When you see the graphics you will be like "WOW' but ten or twenty minutes later you will realize the graphics are the only thing going for it. The quality of the story line has really gone down they just don't suck you in like they use to. :(

I've never actually been keen on Rikki's vocals, but Nobuo's composition is so arresting and Shiro Hamaguchi's arrangement so powerful that it really doesn't matter. Listen to those rising strings behind the vocals - absolutely stunning.
For two years, me and my friend worked on FFX, not because it was hard, but because we refused to finish it without the other. After we finished it, I turned to him and solemnly asked " Isn't it wonderful?" Truly, we had shared a true epic together, and (I, at least) was sad because never again would we be able to share something so epic again, except our friendship. I was happy to have experienced FFX with him, and I am happy to be friends with him, until the very end.

So many years but the game still holds a special place in my life partly due to this song. Hope they can produces something as provocative as this sometime soon.
This song makes my blood run cold. For almost two years, my friend and I played FFX, not because it was hard but because we refused to play without the other. We felt the same feelings as every last character we came to know and love, and as they faded to dust at the end, I felt so empty, knowing we'd never be able to share an epic like FFX again. But as this song played, I said what it's title translated into english. 'Isn't it wonderful?' I asked him. I was happy to have shared FFX with him.
The sadness and longing that lace this version of the song is almost tangible while buried just beneath is hope. There is a level of emotion that can be conveyed through the Japanese language that seems almost unattainable in English.
This game is perfect in every way.

I adored all of them and felt as if I had to help them through their burden (even though I just fight for them) and I needed to see them find closure one way or another.

@justa16thnote yes you sound biased man, but who cares? It's a Final Fantasy, maybe the last REAL Final Fantasy, so enjoy it and love it. For me the best one is FFIX, but I've to admit, every FF I've played so far was wonderful (except XII & XIII)

1) tidus->feminine/insecure teenager
2) rikku/lulu/wakka/kimahri not enough development to say much
3) yuna is fine
4) but tidus is a terrible main character. outclassed by cloud+squall easy. clouds back story w/ seph/zack and squalls with laguna easily beat tidus.
5) final boss did not feel like final boss. yevon was also DULL.

1)Cloud, Cecil, Squall, and Terra were also Insecure teenagers/young adults. I'm sure one of those is a favorite of yours.
2)Lulu went from bitch to compassionate. Kimahri; reserved to involved. Wakka; dumbass to informed dumbass. Rikku never needed to develop. She was herself the whole time.

4) Cloud is the worst main character in the series. 2/3 of the game Cloud wasn't even Cloud. Squall is fine, too similar to Cloud though
5) Jecht was the final boss.

Technically Yevon WAS the final boss. And after getting my ass kicked in the monster dome i was glad Yevon was easy to beat. (Just Zombie him and sit back x3)

@Ghostgirl777 Yevon was just to end the story. Yevon was easy for a reason: it's power came from the Aeon it possessed. Without an aeon it is what it is: a worthless bug (with a lot of HP). Jecht was the true final boss. It closed Auron's story of fulfilling a promise, it closed Yuna's story of defeating (what controlled) Sin and, more importantly, it closed Tidus' story which was defeating the darkness his father put in his mind while at the same time embracing him.

@justa16thnote 'YU YEVON' Was the final boss. And if you beat him it cut to the only real ending this final fantasy needed. It was real heartwarming to see Tidus and Yuna reunite or Yuna get her closure in FFX-2, but this game was entirely the best only because of itself. Now stop your bitching, sure your understanding of the importance of Jecht as a end-game boss is good, but it was only after they all end their stories completely that the final battle can really begin. And Yu Yevon was it.

@lando0092 Sad as it is that Yu Yevon was a joke, impossible to lose on, but still, It had to be Jecht to tie the loose end stories up, then Yu Yevon to tie the main story up. That's why Yu Yevon should be seen as the final boss, and since in chronological order he is x3.

Yes, Yu Yevon is the literally the final boss. Good for you. The epic final battle is with Jecht and every epic final battle in FF has been the last one of the game. Chaos, Mateus, CoD, Zemus, ExDeath, Kefka, Sephiroth, and Vayne were the final bosses to end the character's stories along with the game but Ultimecia, Ozma, and Yu Yevon were sort of 'out of nowhere' bosses. Yu Yevon to a lesser degree.

@Sodamnfoxy I have nothing against FFVII, it's a good game. However, it's way overhyped. Cloud is a whiny bitch who never develops beyond that. Tidus is a whiny bitch at the beginning and I hated him, but by the end he was a likable character because he actually /developed/.

I'll be honest, I have not played FF12 or 13, but I have some kind of feeling that the story of them games cannot be anywhere as good as the ones before it, I don't know why I am not keen on them 2, I love FF, and I see 13s graphics and gameplay and think "Wow thats amazing!" But I still don't think it's enough to play. I know I should just try it and see.. So Confusing

When you see the graphics you will be like "WOW' but ten or twenty minutes later you will realize the graphics are the only thing going for it. The quality of the story line has really gone down they just don't suck you in like they use to. :(

@gonzaloffx2 ive only played those, 9 (unfinished), and 13...13 made me cry (and I know I will on 9 as well...), I loved it so much...i cant wait for 13-2......People just don't understand how emotional the games are....they just judge it by the gameplay...it had a beautiful plot and if people pay attention to the meanings in the final fantasy games then they'll see truly how great they ALL are...

I've never actually been keen on Rikki's vocals, but Nobuo's composition is so arresting and Shiro Hamaguchi's arrangement so powerful that it really doesn't matter. Listen to those rising strings behind the vocals - absolutely stunning.

For two years, me and my friend worked on FFX, not because it was hard, but because we refused to finish it without the other. After we finished it, I turned to him and solemnly asked " Isn't it wonderful?" Truly, we had shared a true epic together, and (I, at least) was sad because never again would we be able to share something so epic again, except our friendship. I was happy to have experienced FFX with him, and I am happy to be friends with him, until the very end.

This song makes my blood run cold. For almost two years, my friend and I played FFX, not because it was hard but because we refused to play without the other. We felt the same feelings as every last character we came to know and love, and as they faded to dust at the end, I felt so empty, knowing we'd never be able to share an epic like FFX again. But as this song played, I said what it's title translated into english. 'Isn't it wonderful?' I asked him. I was happy to have shared FFX with him.

The sadness and longing that lace this version of the song is almost tangible while buried just beneath is hope. There is a level of emotion that can be conveyed through the Japanese language that seems almost unattainable in English.
