There are 13 states now with an unemployment rate of 10% or higher. I live in one of them. No diversified economy, jobs suck, higher ratio of companies firing rather than hiring. And liberal dominated governments not doing very well. Yep, life is good. I have a useful degree that would have gotten me a job 10-15 years ago but now I am working 2 part-time jobs for income and have been looking for a professional full-time job for over a year, still no luck. It's very hard to save.

if companies lay people off, less people buy, and companies make less profit, so they have to lay more people off, and then less people buy, and profits go down.
