when crocheting a brim hat I tried to put a stripe of another color in the middle, although the finished stripe doesnt look even, i can tell where i've stopped and started my new color.. how can i make the change unnoticable?! ..HELP!
Ahh! Thank you! This is the only video that understood what I meant when I searched for "change colors before ending a round". Here I am again, learning something new from you when it comes to crocheting. :] Thank you for always being my virtual teacher!
P.S. Random fact: I am a left-handed person, learned to crochet from you (by force) with my right hand, now I am ambidextrous when it comes to crocheting! :P
Hi Theresa. I am having a bit of trouble. I did a multi colored hat, and now, even though I wove the yarn back into the hat, there are little tufts of color sticking out all over the hat! I wove them all back in as best I could...Any advice? Thanks!!
This is the first time I have seen anyone change colors this way-It was extremely helpful while making a puff stitch project where I needed for the color change not to show. Thank You!
Oh, and P.S., crocheting is THE BEST way to keep my mind off my husband and where he is and what he's doing. I'm 25 and my friends kinda make fun of me for doing "such an old lady craft" but it is SO addicting and is truly what is going to get me through my first (and unfortunately any future) deployment!
I had people making fun of me when I would crochet. I learned when I was about 20. I can't figure out why it still has a stigma attached to old people. Most of my video's reflect that 25% are men crocheting too. I had to ignore the comments.
You are truly amazing! My husband just deployed today and my mother-in-law taught me some basics of crocheting and I made my first scarf and I'm now onto a baby blanket for my daughter who's due in December, but I can't understand those books when she's not here explaining it to me and showing me over and over and over each different stitch, so watching your videos has been so easy to understand and has helped me through the confusing directions on my patterns. Thank you so much!
Congratulations on the new baby. Thank you, I appreciate the comment. I remember deployments and all the training. Crochet kept me occupied through 16 years as a military spouse.
what if you want to change color with first color that you made and you just want to make 1 double crochet r u going to do the same thing that you did the first time? shaina

Thank you so much for this video, I have been struggling with this and you have just solved all my problems. Well, the crochet-how-to-change-colour one anyway... ;)
Thank you so much for this video. I am just learning to crochet and the class is only held once per month. You really need to see how the stiches are done, the book instructions, even with pictures, are difficult for a beginner to follow.
Just want you to know I'll be starting a hat with a change of color today and it's because I now can watch how to do the slipstitch.

Changing the colors is the same if you are doing one stitch with another color and then changing color again.

Okay...that's pretty straight-forward. But how would you change colors in the middle of a row?? Like for an afghan??
laceyhall1204 3 years ago
If you click on timecode 5:34, that part shows how to change color in the middle of a row.

Never mind...I didn't watch long enough :-)
