To Lauxesa and Tealeh2. I agree with it as long as they start with you two dumb motherfuckers. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? Obviously I have come to the same conclusion as the rest of the civilized world. Forced sterilization is wrong in all of its forms. If you want to lower the population, start with education concerning birth control.
sterilization in America applied to black girls and women to keep "undesirables " from procreating - U.S. and Nazi Germany had alot in common when it came to racial idealogues- I also dont get this video
@allenwood100 actually NSDAP did not plan on sterilizing foreign people only people who had conditions which would pass through to there Kids. “There is only one shame: despite one’s own sickness and deficiencies to nonetheless put children into the world.” – Adolf Hitler
I was forced into being sterilized just because I had Asperger's Syndrome and seizures (my dad and the doctor said it would be for another reason, to get treatment for acne but I think my dad just didn't want me to reproduce because in his eyes, I'll just never be perfect enough for him) He said when I get married, I could adopt but who is he to plan my life for me? He's the one who scared me into getting sterilized in the first place. Now I'm lonely and childless and it's all b/c of him
@RunninQHsRock I'm 21 now. I was 19 at the time. It took two tries to do the procedure but i fought my way out of the first (I was 18 during the first time) I wasn't given much of a reason just that i needed another form of birth control besides abstinence to get a certain medicine for my acne (this medicine of course didn't work so the procedure was pretty much for the sake of fixing me just to fix me) I wasn't given a say in the matter though legally i did but my dad was breathing down my neck
@Stephie2007Seems that u were indeed tricked and that was wrong though I kinda think your fathers and doctors concern was your ability to raise a child, not genetics and maybe told you to adopt knowing you wouldn't be abel to.Not to pass judgement on u or ur father but as a person with an asp. parent I have a different take on this.My moms extreme emotional distance has scarred me for life and I'm childless by choice cuz I'm afraid I would parent like her and lonely cuz I push people away.Irony:(
@RunninQHsRock But I work in the child care field and the kids love me! I love being around kids. I even have two little cousins on both sides of the family! I wouldn't dream of being emotionally distant because that's not who I am! When I'm at work, I get more hands on learning about kids than what some book or video can teach me, I get to interact and play with them. I nearly cried out of joy today at work b/c it felt good that the kids wanted to be around me and I wanted to be around them.
@Stephie2007 I think its great that u work in child care and theres more ways than being a parent to have a huge impact on a childs life(which it sounds like ur doing).I'm sure theres countless variables between ur situation and mine but I'm still confused about the amount of control your father had over your medical rights and why a doctor would perform such a procedure on a patient under such duress. And where was ur mom?As best as u can describe, where are u on the autism spectrum?
@RunninQHsRock I asked myself the same question over and over every day for the past three years. But the truth is I don't know what possessed them to do it. A nurse (who worked at a low budget clinic i was referred to by my health insurance provider (the state) suggested it. Dad's original plan was to have me get a hysterectomy but we were told I was too young plus I was also against it. My mom lives in Arkansas and I couldn't tell her b/c dad didn't want me to. recently I told my grandparents
@Stephie2007 I'm gettin concerned for u Stephie cuz it sounds like maybe at the least ur being manipulated, maybe even controlled.Have u ever contacted an advocacy group?I googled 'autism advocacy and found 2 u might be interested in:The Autistic Self Advocacy Network(ASAN) and ADAPT-Disability Advocacy Orgaization. In my opinion urging u to use a reversable birth control method with ur consent would have been acceptable but what u've been through seems unethical and reckless.I'm worried 4 u :/
@Stephie2007 OMG!I just found ur vid: Operation:Forgotton Children:Does CPS discriminate against disabled moms? and couldn't belive my ears from 5:20 till the end,U are an AMAZING person and unfotunately one of the faces of whats wrong with Child Protective Services today.I think that u don't even realize the full extent of the mistreatment u've experienced. You don't seem to be unable to make medical decisions and could have a legal claim in this situation and other issues to.Stand up 4 urself!!
@TheAtheistVisionary Yes, but in the majority of cases people who you deem 'weak' will not reproduce anyway. It's how nature works, and as you said 'It's all about the survival of the fittest', which is exactly what happens in nature, including the human race. 'Weaker' ones are unable to reproduce and the fittest do, so it's best to leave nature take it's course, lest the human race lose it's humanity, the very thing that sets it apart from all other species. Forced sterilization is inhumane.
@CoN0R115 But the thing is, the mentally retarded ARE able to reproduce. So do you want the mentally retarded getting into politics controlling everything you do? It's bad enough the U.S had a person like George Bush being president. We don't need anymore people like that on the planet.
@TheAtheistVisionary You shouldn't say 'we' because I don't share your opinion at all. Just because someone has a mental illness doesn't mean you can violate their basic human rights. If someone with a mental or physical illness wants to have kids, they can. If anyone needs to be forcibly sterilized it's you. We need less ignorant people in this world more than any other 'type' of person.
The Family Planning Act of 1970 PL 91-572 was used to forcibly sterilized Native American women and other women of poor and minority communities, thank George Bush senior! This program is funded through tax payer dollars. The women would go in for any medical condition and then they would not be told they are getting sterilized, just treated.
There is so much going on today. Eugenics has been transformed into Genetics. Much more scietific and respectable. Insurance companies doing DNA testing for coverage qualification. Again read Edwin Black's War Against the Weak and be amazed at who all supported Eugenics. As the economy continues to falter we can expect there to be guidlines on who is genetically qualified for care. Abortion first, next comes forced euthenasia. Can society afford octuplets at a million dollars plus per child?
Thanks for the book recommendation ranger, I just put it on my Amazon wish list. A New World Order is fast approaching and in order for a one world government to succeed, mass genocide will undoubtedly need to occur. We ALL need to be aware of eugenics and not be so naïve to believe its restricted to a dark German legacy. Its happened here in the U.S. and will happen again worldwide on a massive scale. The truth is out there for us in books and on the web, we need simply to embrace truth.
There is no shortage on money, just shortage on people with a fucking soul. "Genetically qualified for care"? You'd be an imbecile to think anyone is incorrectable.
No shortage of money?.....yeah as long as the gov't. has ink and paper there will be no shortage of money. It's when the bills finally come due, and they will come due, that genetic qualifications for care will be instituted. Maybe nasem89 could try to comment w/o resorting to namecalling and actually add something intelligent to the conversation.
For a comprehensive history of the subject of Eugenics read Edwin Black's War Against The Weak. The Nazis merely carried the principles of Eugenics farther than other countries were willing to. As health care becomes prohibitively expensive society will be forced to again deal with the questions of who is worthy of medical care and does society have the right and resposobility to limit population.
I'm sure you've heard of M.Sanger? "Planned Parenthood" ring any bells? Forced sterilization still goes on,in fact, more so now. They just don't tell the girl/woman about it. Bill and Malinda Gates gave MILLIONS to Planned Parenthood..they believe in Eugenics wholeheartedly.

Alexamder Graham Bell used his money earned from his famous invention, telephone, to lobby and succeeded in passing a Bill to steriize Deaf Women in some states. He set a poor example by not having his Deaf wife sterilized. He purposefully destroyed millions of well educated Deaf People's livlihoods in the United States of America and around the world, too. ADA Laws is no good as long as Audism is not policed and eliminated from Legal Systems and from all walks of life today.
pc-actually, Oliver Wendall Holmes is usually remembered an example of liberal thought, yet his argument was precisely that eugenics benefited society, not the individual. So, I disagree with your characterization of the right vs. left. I think it's a combination of the two motivations you mentioned on both sides.
Wow, you mean our county had it's own "Action T4" plan just like the Nazi's? Wow, never expected the us and the Nazi's to have things in common. Other than maybe, the Eagle, racial hate, economic inequity, CIA/SS/KGB-like secret police actions, the current presidents family relations to the Nazi party, ok pretty much everything is just like the Nazi's. But we're #1 and that automatically makes us right, holy, and true!
frankly, the left's ideology tends to be deeply committed to eugenics in comparison to the right, when that particular topic comes up today as a matter of social policy. But, of course, the right hasn't earned stars either, particularly as the states with futile care laws tend to be "red states." On the other hand, MA, a blue state, has tried to force people's surrogates to pull the plug on them when they are sick, so both sides stink.
The primary difference is the 'why' each side uses to explain it. The Right wants eugenics for the benefit of all(nobody else has to deal with others disabilities), and the Left want eugenics for the well being of the individual (sometimes dying or sterility is better than the alternative)
