  • @oggy.....you say not much of a cyclone. the uploader never claimed this was a cyclone...he says 'some rough seas', and ' running from a cyclone'

  • I have also spent time in the southern ocean aswell as the grounds of New Plymouth New Zealand.....yes 70 kt winds can be frequent but the speed that a cyclone changes the conditions, the unpredictable nature of them and the intensity you must make to get away from them make them very stressfull.

  • The southern Ocean can be equally as bad as anywhere else. I spent four years down there and it can get nasty. I wouldn't say that this clip is super extreme but believe me, it's a hell of lot nastier than it looks. I tried to take some video when down south and it didn't look very impressive even though we were rolling up to 45 degrees. It only looked impressive when a wave broke the bow and flooded the deck but this didn't always happen depending on how 'beam on' we were to the swell.

  • this isnt normall seas in any body of water besides the north sea and bearing strait

  • this wasnt bad, in norway thats normal ;)

  • not much of a cyclone

  • One, ah it isnt cyclone FFS. Normal storm
