  • Hey! AMD Duron and Intel Core i5-2500(k)!

  • Anyone knows the song name is cool

  • @DominusGhost pl.blaswede remix

  • pause at 1:05 i know the error says ' This program has performed an illegal operation and will be terminated ' because it has a classic error window so its windows 98

  • you can't even download this exact same video when i download it, it just downloads the one with moving pixels!!!!!!!

  • Now do this with a 990x

  • dinner is served XDXDXD

  • @BlenderFreak2000 Good try on gaining thumbs up..

  • DID YOU SEE THE COOLER ON THE AMD ATHLON 1400 IT LOOKS LIKE A JET ENGINE

  • @legobaxter Hey it does look like a jet engine!!!!! i think it looks quite cooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!

  • Hmm maybe i should de-assemble my pc and fill it with fireworks, then take it on a plane and remove the cpu cooler and run like fk!!!!!!!!

  • i didnt think they would reach such a high temperature so fast!

  • 1:03 LOL!

    Windows 98 "illegal operation" screen

  • 1:08 Windows 98 LOL!

  • what's the music that plays

  • @dickcheney6

The Music is the title tune from the Amiga version on the computer game Project-X

  • I think this just proves that AMD CPU's work very hard to make you happy then an intel CPU.

  • @1112Hades No it just proves Intel don't have to work as hard to make us happy

  • What is the music name?

  • 1:10 no wonder this circuit failed it says made in japan

Doctor Emmet Brown Back to the future part 3

  • @addictedtogaming What's the song???? ;)

  • amd is better than anything but intel is good fpr hackintoshes. :D

  • put yo penis on it LOL

  • >Implying this is a "thread".

  • Comment removed

  • Video from 2001. How relevant. Could a mod please close this thread? Oh wait...

  • To you all who hate AMD, without AMD intel would rule the market, you wouldn't want that happening. Beside look at the new AMD CPU's. My Athlon II X2 250 idles at 19C and 34C on load compared to my E5400 idles at 36C and 52C on load.

  • AMD fixed this starting from K8 (Athlon 64 and up).

  • Guys how stupid can you get. When they put the P4 cooler back on, the fan wasn't even running... Besides they left the Athlon to heat up for like 20 seconds compared to 5 seconds on the P4.

  • @anthonyla45

So what it still leads away the heat from the cpu.

its the fan that leads the heat away from the heatsink

  • @pioneerz450 Meh, the CPU was in smoke cos the thermal compound was drying up. Besides, if a heatsink is enough, why is there a fan...

Instantly when they put the fan back on, the game went back to full speed? Bull shit, when you take out a CPU cooler and let the CPU warm up, putting the cooler back on require a couple of minutes for the CPU to cool down, it don't just instantly drop by like 20C.

  • @anthonyla45

It wouldn't take a few minutes for the exact same reason that a metal fence outside in the winter "feels" a lot colder than the concrete floor - even though they are the same temperature. Metals conducts heat really well.

  • @anthonyla45 ik but intel is better cuz amd just burned out lol!

  • @refatmonjur Keep in mind, this video is from 2001. Modern AMD processors have thermal safeguards to prevent them from melting themselves into little puddles of slag nowadays. Besides, how can you say that a company that will sell you a quad core processor as a dual core, and then sell you an upgrade card to unlock those other cores, is better than AMD? If you don't know what I'm talking about, google 'intel cpu unlock', and click images.

  • @lx45803 That was a legit business strategy, though; considering the high cost of the dies used to manufacture the CPU's. Lowering overhead by utilizing the same die for several price points attributes to lower prices for all. They actually had the consumers best interest in mind, but too many consumers didn't realize this so they stopped doing it.

  • @SiressW Yeah, but it's still annoying as hell. If I only want 2 cores, I'll buy 2 cores. If I want 4, I'll buy 4. Having the CPU pretend that it isn't as powerful as it really is until you fork over some cash just feels like crap, especially when you realize that using the same die means that both the 2 core and 4 core processors cost the same to make!

But what about those lower price points? If the defectives aren't enough to meet demand, THEN SELL THE DAMN QUAD CORES CHEAPER.

    (lol 2mo. reply)

  • @anthonyla45

YOU JUST DONT KNOW THE LAWS OF PHYSICS!!!!

Aluminium is a light weight metal that hs a good heat transferring ability, as soon as you put it back on a hot cpu with heated up heatpaste, it instantly starts to transfer the heat. an as soon as the cpu drops a few degrees it starts clocking itself up again returning to full clock in a couple of seconds, and the game may not have used all of the cpu power but its still enough to start running the game, you havent installed a cooler.

  • @pioneerz450 If you can run a CPU with just the heatsink, then why is there a fan? Come on this is just too obvious... The FAN on the Intel CPU isn't even running and the game is back on full speed. If a fan wasn't needed to cool the CPU, it wouldn't be there. Just use your brain and think. I don't hate Intel personally, I use their products too. But this video just doesn't seem real. okay?

  • @anthonyla45 The fan provides additional cooling for when the processor is working at maximum frequency and keeps the overall temperature reasonable. Components have higher life expectancy when they are properly cooled (it goes for all electrical components). It HELPS power dissipation but isnt necessarily required for the processor to work.

The test didnt compare the performance when the fan was running and when it wasnt (and that wasnt really the point of the test).

  • @anthonyla45 Furthermore, the performance of the game in the video was no indication of the actual performance the processor could attain. For all we know, the processor mightve already been slowed down significantly without the fan running (for example from 300fps to 60fps).

Plus, you shouldnt underestimate the power dissipation capability of the heatsink.

Its also worth noting that the AMD CPUs had a much smaller area for power dissipation.

  • that's why I 'v never bought AMD cpus They are just pure shit.

  • You should put the heatsink back on the camera's processor, too.

  • 0:47

    I see your work, Malaysia.

    I see it

  • Oh damm now I see why my computer acting wired lately

  • 0:47

This is what happens when i removed a cpu cooler of an athlon xp 2200+ 1.8ghz

PS : Sorry 4 my bad english, i'm french

  • quake 3 ftw. =D

  • lol instantly

  • INTEL RULEZZ

  • oh i tot when the temps get too high they will auto shut down?

and idk why but its sad for me to see those chips burn

  • only with the new bios systems

  • It only shows how a CPU gets hot, not if it's better or no in performance. And you know, these CPUs are old...

  • What will be with AMD Athlon XP 3000+

    when cooler is removeD!!!

    2.16Ghz

  • Hah, so stupid people are sometimes... They think Intel is much much better (I didn't say anything about comparison) then the AMD CPU's 'cause the AMD cpu's crashes and get really, really hot. -.-

  • ok i dont think so, but its your opinion. I dont even know why do we have coolers today :). And i have Athlon 1900 XP which is working like 2800 XP and my Big Typhoon doesnt have problems with its temp...

  • Are you retarded? These tests are not fake at all. The old socket A chips really were brutal for cooling. They didn't have the safety switch that most AMD chips come with now to prevent frying. These are old cpu's atleast 5-6 years ago.

  • omg call it cpu, chip make it sound different and weird

  • They ARE chips though. You can call it whatever you want.

  • @Alientank haha now like 9 years ago

  • @kompa9 lol yea they're old now. REALLY old. I miss the old days though because it was a mhz race. Starting around the 1ghz chips it just kept going up. Now we're at the top and it's gone to cores now. Just doesn't seem as exciting.

  • @Alientank yea

  • Comment removed

  • @Alientank Now i think amd runs a lot cooler

  • Not a fake... keep in mind these are P3s and AthlonXPs and not current generation.. yes, some of the intel line (specifically p2 (600MHz)) can run around 45C without any cooling, but not the generation shown in the video and definitely not in any generation of chip out today.

Either way, it is probly a good idea to not remove that cooler/heatsink/fan while it's running.

  • @addictedtogaming wat... there never was a p2 600... i think you mean 400?

  • @addictedtogaming my phones dual 1gz does not use cooling liar

  • @Iplayrs8D You cpu ARM lol

  • @Iplayrs8D Are you crazy?! This video was made in 2001 and at that time there werent any smartphones. It's only now we have fast and not burning without coooler CPUs

  • @RIKULA0

The cpu is throttling, thats why the program freezes/crashes and thats why it dosent burn like the amd cpu:s... Old pentium days...

  • Comment removed

  • lol @ CPU manufacturer's fanboys. Interesting video; dangerous though how they didn't have sensors on the motherboards to shut the computers down. Unless of course they had turned the sensors off...

  • Comment removed

  • at that time back in 2001. amd cpu,es ran much hotter than intel. its without a doubt not fake

  • not fake, I ran my share of amd's from my slot-a through the top of the xp line... if you didn't have that shit cooled, you could def fry

  • lol this video is totally shit... when he place again the cooler on the intel the video turn again smooth... but the fan isn't even turning....

  • So? Apparently you don't know how a heatsink, or Intel processors work.

  • I can't believe Halaster01 is 29yr :D

  • AMD SUCKS ...

Anyone know name song ? Please....

  • Yes music is from a Amiga game called Project X

  • @skiepiediepie - Thanks, I've been wanting to know about that music for years now.

  • INTEL INTEL!!! XD

    Amd Smoke!

  • That happened to me with AMD and even with a heatsink on!

  • what is the name of the song?

  • AMD= FAIL

  • INTEL = SHIT

  • TRUE YES IM A 2 SIDED COIN

  • YOU = SHIT

  • like you know, you pussy. i have a intel and SUCK's.. i have an AMD too, and AMD kick's ass Intel

  • you must own some really old cpu's.

AMD has been behind the ball for several years now. CPU tests have proven this.

and you should know better than to say this without backing it up with anything.

  • I think your ASS got kicked when AMD try to "beat" Intel. That's why you're so stupid.

  • Du bist ein perverses Schwein!

  • hahah you watched blentec to i was just saying that phrase in my head lol love that phrase

  • CPU smoke... don't breathe this!

  • will it blend fan???

  • what is the name of this song?

  • AMD Athlon 1400

Damn this is old video, must be 6-8 years old

  • it says the date at the end

  • you're right on the money; 7 years ole

  • intel is better for everything

    but AMD is just cheaper

    however for quad core

    everyone needs to get intel

  • That's true now, but not when this video was made. In the Pentium 4 days, Intel couldn't touch AMD's performance. Intel finally realized upping the clock speed on a terrible CPU wasn't good enough, and started from scratch to get an extremely efficient design for the Core series.

  • yea and isnt that how AMD started naming theyre cpus at the time, as in AMD Sempron 2200+ (really 1.6 Ghz) is supposed to perform the same as an Intel Pentium at 2.2 Ghz. but Intel has clearly taken the lead now

  • Ehrm, from scratch? Technically core is a gradual step from Pentium III/ Pentium M designs.

Besides, Pentium IV has some weird... pretty much unusable optimization possibilities. Intel dominates high-performance compiler market so they probably were going to make their compiler optimize better for P4/Netburst. Didn't work, bad luck, good design by AMD.

  • I hope my cooler won´t stop working on my AMD Processor xD

  • Don't worry too much really. They've had thermal protection for, like, 4 or 5 years now. Sometimes it won't work, but same for Intel.

Chipsets were garbage back then though (VIA!!!), but since NVidia took care of that they have been improving rapidly too.

  • AMD is faster than intel

  • Take a look at any tom's hardware cpu charts.

Mid-range intel chips beat AMD's high-end in almost everything.

  • Omg

  • oh crap, i have amd rofl

  • LOL What did the error say on the AMD Athlon computer when the heatsink was removed?

  • The magic smoke escapes!

  • pentium survive more but AMD is better for the games

  • Maybe a year or two ago, that is no longer the case today. Plus Intel chips are better at overclocking now a days.

  • burning of AMD athlon 64 fx has happened to me before with fan. AMD may need water cooling

  • They don't, and 64fx should shut off gracefully when overheating. More likely it had an electrical problem of some sort. Did you use silvery thermal paste? If so, may some of it have come upon the ceramic surface mount capacitors on the CPU?

And BTW, watercooling is generally not better than good air cooling, it just helps manage noise and airflow.

  • The pentium 4/2000 was interesting. The cpu just kept throttling but never actually overheated.

  • thats w00t on toast

  • awesome

  • wow nvr gonna reove that
