(But 'years ago' would generally be 'nen mae' rather than 'nen me'... oh well).
I was just about to see if the filename 'nen me' was a typo and was meant to be 'nen mae' on the Wiki, but now it says 'Service Temporarily Unavailable' due to bandwidth problems. =/
can this be done with mp3s like i just set it up and then play an mp3 in winamp and this thing beeps out the tones to my mp3s or do i have to time it all to the music
No, sorry, I'm nowhere near advanced enough to get it to detect the notes automatically and play along with that. So you do need to add them yourself, I'm afraid. =/
Hey. Can you link me the program (If your sharing it) I followed your places to the "Unlocked Girl Bleeper version" and couldnt find it. Thanks in advanced?
Hi. You can find it on my blog (which you can see the link to in my profile - it's too much of a bother to try to go against YouTube's URL-blocking in comments here).
Perfect timing, actually, because I just released a new version a few minutes ago which completely fixes all timing (going out of sync) problems. =)
hahah I love these things, always create something new with some grampy old things. Never thought pc sounds that I hear when my computer freezes can make a fun music like that. Great Job, looking forward to see some more.
The music I was playing on the media player in the video is a FLAC file (lossless) but I can convert it to MP3 for you but it will lose a little quality. If you mean an MP3 of the actual 'bleeper', I haven't recorded that directly yet, although I guess I could try (I'm a little worried about messing my soundcard up though - connecting it to the bleeper).
I have a second soundcard in any case if things get messy (I doubt they will). The PC speaker is sometimes just an ordinary speaker after all, so it must just be at line level. So line-in should be fine.
By the way, I think MP3 doesn't compress square waveforms very well (lots of noise gets added).
I tried it, but the cable connecting it to the soundcard got very hot. =/ Most of all it heard was interference too. Very odd. Guess I'll have to try to get a recording with just a microphone (tomorrow though... since it's half 3 AM now and there are people trying to sleep)
If you have ideas for other songs like this (with definite tunes) you'd like me to do this with, just let me know and I'll give it a shot, if I can get hold of the original songs. ^^;
this track is not from iosys its from touhou. its not an arrange at all.

@akirosette : No. It's track 10 from IOSYS's album 東方乙女囃子 (Touhou Otome Bayashi) (Touhou Maidens' Orchestra).

@thesoybyr: Looks like you need to fix your automated spam-posting program. YouTube won't accept HTML in comments, so try characters 13 and 10.

Yeah, I'm a chiptune fan, I think the purity of the sound adds a lot of character to the song. (I already have the IOSYS cd's and stuff)
Well, no need to push yourself. I could always dl the flv here and rip audio from that...with adjustments.

Nah, don't worry, I'm gonna give it a shot. :D

Done - check the description.
I made the pulses faster, I think it suits the pace of the song better. Noise-removed and blah blah blah. Enjoy. :D
