@blueberrymuffin36 I once, along time ago, saw this music video, and it was from a different account on Youtube. On it was the best explanation to this song I have ever heard, and if I ever see it again I will tell you, so message me so it will be easier to contact you or just not, it doesn't matter to me.
The song starts out with two friends who both have good intentions, wanting to aid mankind. They choose different paths to do so. The song is told through the Corporate man's view. He chooses to help the world by attaining the power to change the world globally. "My cause is noble. My power is pure". He thinks that by imposing his ideal of a perfect world on others that he's helping. It isn't until the end, when his friend lies dead by his hands, that he realizes his mistake. Power corrupts.
@OriginalChaosLord i like your interpretation of it :) i suppose you could be right. but then no one really knows what a song is about other than the artist. i actually think your idea is probably closer than mine. i suppose i can try to look at it the way you are, saying that his intentions were good. although i have an extremely high sense of justice so it's kind of hard.
I personally feel it's about the society and atmosphere you grow up in, and how one minor decision, such as choosing a path, can either lead you away from who you are and corrupt your morals, or make you stronger and give you the power to rise up against corruption. Almost how your words can lead you to where you are, but you actions make you who you are, and how society shapes people more than you'd think.
i think it's more so showing two people. one who chooses to rule the world and kill others while the other chooses to be a good person and to help mankind. both can do anything and everything however just because you can do said thing doesn't mean you should. life is cruel and those who strive for power loose much while those who sit back and do nothing watch as the world around them dies. just thought i'd share this
Childhood is innocent, though you are restricted to very few options; and as we grow up, we become adults.
Adulthood is guilty, because there, we become free to do whatever we want, let it be to guide the people incorrectly or to guide the people correctly.
this song shows how anyone can do anything they want, even if its simply riding a bike with no hands but just because you can do something doesnt mean that you should. this song shows two very different paths of people following their beliefs and the results show their choices reflecting on themselves.
@MinecraftiaCreationz lol is it relay a bad path or is just the way he used it. besides in the end he has supreem rule. vilunt protest guard aginst vilunt protest?
it shows how just because you can do something doesn't mean to but you shouldn't just stand back and watch so its help not watch and dont get to greedy with power.
i just had a terrible day at work because people have a hard time not taking their stress out on other people and i felt like i took too much shit without firing back. i immediately got home and started listening to jedi mind tricks to blow off some steam. I'm glad that i ended on flobots, it's great to know there's still great and caring people in the world. thank you guys so much

@blueberrymuffin36 I completely agree with this but I would also like to point out when the friend in the suit took a left, the Street Sign had a C, Resembling Control. While the more casually dressed friend took a right on the street with a dove, resembling peace.
@blueberrymuffin36 I think what the Flobots are trying to convey (besides corrupt governmt / greed, obviously) is how such a simple, carefree and innocent action (riding your bike with no handlebars) can lead to the end of your life or the world. Which is possible through our society.
@blueberrymuffin36 I agree! Partially. The "be a good person" bit I don't.
I mean, they're both striving for good, just in different ways.
One is trying to do it by controlling the world completely, and enforcing all out order. His method is to keep an eye on everyone and kill anyone that threatens that order. His INTENTIONS are good still.
The other guy is fighting for the same cause but in a different way. He tries to enforce freedom, however complete freedom leads to anarchy (no law...).
@OriginalChaosLord Point is: They both want good, but they're going to two extremes to obtain it. The moral being that you can't just go down one route... you have to create a perfect mixture of the two... control + freedom. Which is why politics often fails in the world because getting a mix that EVERYONE is happy with is HARD.
@OriginalChaosLord In what way does anarchy necessitate lawlessness? Anarchy really only implies the lack of a centralized government, and law existed before the concept of centralized government...

I always took the song as they were going through life without guidance (aka riding your bike with no handle bars) and how two different approaches to trying to change your world can BOTH end badly without help and guidance of the other side.. Trying to gain power in order to make a difference can make you power-hungry, while trying to go things by a more idealistic way can lead to you becoming impoverished and disillusioned.
@jonathan4178 Yeah this is pretty much what I was saying and my dad thinks just a shortened version! It's about famous people thinking they can do everything and that they're on top of the world. he's making fun of famous people because they think they can do anything like end world hunger if people would participate in their groups or whatever and they think they can do anything but really they're just famous they're just a rapper they're just a rockstar.
The meaning of the song is very simple-everyone or most people can ride a bike with no handlebars but that doesnt mean you should, he keeps repeating stuff he can do and thats why a lot of his lines start with 'I CAN' . the message hes trying to get across is people can do a lot of things but that doesnt mean you have to and an example of this is the holocaust, anyone can start a holocaust but just because you can doesnt mean you should. so dont do things because you can do it.

Well as being a Vietnam vet, I think that his song is what the world is all albout these days, those who do good or those who do evil. It is our choice , soldiers have nothing to do with this video.... every person who breaths air on this planet is responsible for their actions not any one else's..... @pepperhr lol. you are right....... to an extent. we do have all those things, but so does every other country in the world. and most countries are alot worse in these aspects than america is. by todays standards, we are one of the most civilized countries in the world
you all realize this video and bands that make similar videos are on the same side of the corporate coin they preach against right? Videos like this pull at your heartstrings and get you to feel a tremendous amount of emotion, be it sadness or indignation or anger... just so you'll go out and buy their music... but have little desire to actually DO anything to change the system they profit from preaching against.
@rasonage Do you think Che Guevara would reject his books being sold at book stores? I don't think so. My theory on what your saying is that if you don't get your word out there to everybody then you aren't helping. Iv been around these guys before, They are legit. They want to help. They put a good part of their profits into their projects and the community. While there may be bands just trying to make money on "Boxed revolutionary" That isn't these guys.
Wow, even 3 years later, this video is still depressing. :c Its sad how they go from being best friends riding bikes, to going their separate ways, to one being average and the other being mad with power, to the mad one having others killed to killing his best friend to remembering the good 'ol times. this video nearly makes me cry.
Its amazing how they disagree with the goverment but they dont use anarchy in there music they dont say "Fuck the goverment" or "fight the power" there music does something similiar for them.
Two friends who have grown up together split up and go seperate ways in the world. One lives to help people, the other friend goes into the business/corporate/government life and becomes a powerful leader who is ruthless and obsessed with power. He becomes a bad leader, and a his friend, deciding he doesn't like his new friends leadership decides to start a protest. The leader accidently allows his friend to be killed and when he lets the riot get violent.
There are two major diffrences between soliders and warriors, One, a soilder follows orders, where as a warrior follows thier heart. Two, A soilder digs in and prepares, where as a warrior will just charge the enemy. America will need more warriors. WE THE PEOPLE!!!
The WORLD needs more warriors."There is nothing to fear, but fear its self". In history when a system no longer works for us All WE,the people, changed it,Not the current leaderships. A challenge to you,THE PEOPLE.By the end of 2012 WE the people will make steps towards changing what we perseve the world as we know it & create a new society that benifits us All,we Now have the technoiigy & the education to do so.2012"THE END OF THE WORLD",as we know it.(Spread this to the world)Faithfull & True
@RomanMathias313 That's a definite stereotype. Warriors are generally thought of as courageous. If there were ever a definiton of a warrior, it would be that.
@RomanMathias313 yo kid, you serouisly need to shut the fuck up, because really you have no idea what your talking about, u say a soilder follows orders and a warrior will follow his heart, for one, your not a warrior or a soldier so you dont know how they feel or what they do and you sure as fuck dont know what amarica needs
@RomanMathias313 no we need more soldiers because soldiers are trained and prepared with proper tools. if we had warriors fighting our war that we fighting now, they would be slaughtered! because they dont have the proper training or knowledge, or tools to fight in a war! and with out knowledge and tools to fight with its like going in to battle blind folded and de-armed. but i do see why u may say what u said!
@BlakePaws1 yes, like i said, "i see what youre saying as far as meaning goes." I just think it's a shitty metaphor, because we DONT need warriors; we need peacemakers. and also because warrior is a synonym of soldier >_< not sure why i have to spell this out..
when wants are replaced with greed then greed leads to envy and separation of classes where do we draw the lines between brothers looking for a cure to cancer and foes competing to release there cure first and what about those with cancer would we kill others to keep the cure to our self and those we love or would we release it into the world why must one person suffer so another can live in peace if we are truly brothers then we should take our brothers with us as far as we both can reach
@nintendodayz1985 alright "bro", you need to stick to your nintendo because you sure as hell dont know what ur talking about, theres nothing wrong with asking a price for something u made?, shit kid, i hope you dont expect the cure to be free
haha I remember when I was young I would ride my bike with out my hands on the bars, and now that I'm older i liked FUN more than knowledge. I hate the feeling of starting to become a adult. I HATE anything to do with politics. I want to be a kid forever.
@phenix00000 ok the "relationship" is the two boys here. theyre friends. one chooses cooperation, the other chooses free will in life. the relationship is ruined cuz the one that chose cooperation gets his buddy killed. you were right - corruption. the relationship part is important because when one gets killed it shows what is lost and terminated because it "had to happen".
@Xirokami ok that makes sense. i like to go by the lyrics though- -the only line that hints at a relationship is "just called to say that its..." so i would say it could apply to a different relationship, but i see the concept there.
@lcbcanfeet i think the songs main theme is that power corrupts, even if it starts out as only a little. the writer refers to political power and events in history more than once. he doesnt say it in an obvios way, but i think he does in fact say that. what is your interpretation?
(and to be completely clear, i dont think he's talking about himself or anything)
It is so true. We do spend all of our effort and creativeness on destructive things rather than creative things.
The two kids represent those who use their creativeness to help others and those who use it to make money, exploit and gain power.
It also shows that absolute power corrupts and that bad things will happen because of it. But also that it is sometimes unintended. The evil friend cries when he sees his friend shot, he didn't want that to happen
@jonorancid unfortunately no1 =\\ all the presidents etc etc from every country in the wolrd cares only about the money and dont give a f@@k about the other people who are hungry and to work for their money.
@Antopekk really does it look what capitalism is Turing into, financial crisis, iraq and gulf wars, vietnam war, korean war. all created because of capitalism thirst for power and money.
I never liked this song before I watched this video. I didnt understand the meaning of it before. After I watched this video I fell in love with the song
@Barlecilla Agreed. This song is so freaking amazing :) I really enjoy this different way of music. And the lyrics are just so damn true and deep. One of the greastest songs ever, really ! 5*

you all realize this video and bands that make similar videos are on the same side of the corporate coin they preach against right?

For anyone whos confuzed:

A challenge to you,THE PEOPLE.By the end of 2012 WE the people will make steps towards changing what we perseve the world as we know it & create a new society that benifits us All,we Now have the technoiigy & the education to do so.2012"THE END OF THE WORLD",as we know it.(Spread this to the world)Faithfull & True
faithfullntrue1 11 months ago 2
@RomanMathias313 That's a definite stereotype. Warriors are generally thought of as courageous. If there were ever a definiton of a warrior, it would be that.
beast4life55 8 months ago
@RomanMathias313 yo kid, you serouisly need to shut the fuck up, because really you have no idea what your talking about, u say a soilder follows orders and a warrior will follow his heart, for one, your not a warrior or a soldier so you dont know how they feel or what they do and you sure as fuck dont know what amarica needs
gcheck56 7 months ago 3
@RomanMathias313 no we need more soldiers because soldiers are trained and prepared with proper tools. if we had warriors fighting our war that we fighting now, they would be slaughtered! because they dont have the proper training or knowledge, or tools to fight in a war! and with out knowledge and tools to fight with its like going in to battle blind folded and de-armed. but i do see why u may say what u said!
TheBombboy123 6 months ago
@RomanMathias313 i see what youre saying as far as meaning goes, but warrior is synonymous with soldier :P america needs more peacemakers

@lcbcanfeet i think i get it. thats cool, i like my little twist as well, but yours fits the video better.
phenix00000 1 year ago
@lcbcanfeet i wasnt quoting the song word for word! what would be the point in that?
i was showing what i was thinking about the meaning of the song- -part of it, anyway- -that political power currupts.
there wasnt much of a point to that but i kind of felt like typing it.
i like your idea- -where does the "relationship" part come in though?
phenix00000 1 year ago
@phenix00000 ok the "relationship" is the two boys here. theyre friends. one chooses cooperation, the other chooses free will in life. the relationship is ruined cuz the one that chose cooperation gets his buddy killed. you were right - corruption. the relationship part is important because when one gets killed it shows what is lost and terminated because it "had to happen".
Xirokami 1 year ago
@Xirokami ok that makes sense. i like to go by the lyrics though- -the only line that hints at a relationship is "just called to say that its..." so i would say it could apply to a different relationship, but i see the concept there.
phenix00000 1 year ago
wow the song grear it teaches you something
pokemonmaster51 1 year ago
@lcbcanfeet i think the songs main theme is that power corrupts, even if it starts out as only a little. the writer refers to political power and events in history more than once. he doesnt say it in an obvios way, but i think he does in fact say that. what is your interpretation?
(and to be completely clear, i dont think he's talking about himself or anything)

WahreWahrheit 1 year ago
The meaning of the song is powerful
It is so true. We do spend all of our effort and creativeness on destructive things rather than creative things.
The two kids represent those who use their creativeness to help others and those who use it to make money, exploit and gain power.
It also shows that absolute power corrupts and that bad things will happen because of it. But also that it is sometimes unintended. The evil friend cries when he sees his friend shot, he didn't want that to happen

In the end this song wants to say :"We are all just people, normal humans"
could be that they want to say that the human instinct and normal behaviour always leads us to war and killing.
thumbs up if ya agree?
