It looks very promesing. I think touchless devices will not have succes in the area of smartphones or tablet computers. But Teles? Yea of cause. Nobody wants to have a billion remotes on the couch table if you could just do it my swiping your hand to change channel.
humans are fucking lazy. I dont see how waving your arms around like an idiot is easier than just pointing a remote and clicking a button. This is such a waste of time and money
But then again, so is stroking your cell phone instead of using a stylus. So why are so many people buying iPhones and HTC's? Cuz they're cool.
We've had RF remote control TV's for decades now. It's cool to be able to interact with your TV without needing to aim a remote. Keep in mind that this is a baby step to being able to control your TV with your mind--I'm guessing we'll have that technology out in under 50 years.
I kinda agree with you, except for one thing: it's not a waste of time and money. Multitouch screens will most likely be the new trend soon. What will happen then? All the world will have greasy screens from all the dirty bastards touching them. :))
I don't want that. I want a way that is both easy to understand (gestures on multitouch screens) and still have a non-greasy device.
Getting it dirty by touching it is the only big thing that makes me think twice about using a touch screen.

we need a interface that's controlled just by thinking. Hence keyboard, mouse and touchscreen should be eliminated.

Err. Your stylus-example is completely rubbish. There is no logical reason for us to use a stylus INSTEAD of using a finger or our hands.

Nice. Continue with your research. Your on to something but it needs a lot of work.

In the future, every device will be controllable by touch, wave, or speech - whichever the user prefers to use at the time.
