  • Anything on TV is poison...hence "programming" you into a battery dehumanizing us spiritually emotionally mentally and physically...pay attention to the signs of end times prophesied by Yeshua as well as his disciples peace be with you all one love...Solomon

  • reason and faith must embrace each other and that`s theology .

  • Although Dr. James Cone is dropping some serious science on this subject, DON'T BE FOOLED.

Dr. Cone is the CHIEF EXPOSITOR of so-called "BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY", which is a perversion of historic Christian teaching regarding the Gospel and the nature of Christ.

Smart and insightful man. But he is as much a false teacher as Paul Morton.

I know some Black folk here won't like this, but I gotta tell the truth...

  • @NYTNinAmerica So, in your opinion, is the "science" in this vid a perversion?

  • @godisanegro, I am not clear on what you're asking. Please ask your question in a more direct fashion.

  • @NYTNinAmerica you believe Cone is a false teacher and "chief expositor" of perversion. I want to be clear on your opinion of the message he gives here. In your opinion, does Cone bring "truth" in this message?

  • @godisanegro, I said at the outset that he was "dropping some serious science on this subject". I don't know how to be more clear.

  • @NYTNinAmerica If Cone gives truth in this message, then one must wonder how he arrives at that truth. The theology he teaches leads him there. If that's the case, then one must at the very least consider that there is at least some truth to so-called "Black Liberation Theology."

  • @NYTNinAmerica - Interesting comment but James Cone is a great theologian. If you read the gospels throughly, you will see that even Jesus preached liberation as well.

  • Dr. Cone is a bad brothajamma!!! FOr the over 20 years that I have heard him on and off I have NEVER been disappointed!!!

  • I have two key problems with the description of this video: (1) Where in the BIble did Christ establish a black church? Christ established a universal Church encompassing all nations (Matt 28:19). Furthermore, in Gal 3:28 we read: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (2) One cannot invent a church and call oneself a bishop. The term bishop signifies an objective reality outside of the title.

  • @wbowersox87 I totally agree.

  • @wbowersox87 1) Nowhere. But where did Christ establish an Armenian Church, Corinthian Church, Baptist Church or "non-denominational" church? It's a cultural descriptor, not a doctrinal imperative. 2) Paul did the equivalent he called himself apostle, though he wasn't one of the twelve. The original disciples (especially Peter) had serious problems with this. He claimed Jesus gave him the title. Morton does the same.

  • Morton is an entertainer. He also spoke nothing of Christ. Neither could he because the natural man does not understand spiritual things.

  • This guy is just so clueless...he says we become soo spiritual, its just Jesus Jesus, Jesus. There's is absolutely nothing spiritual about that. Thats the pure human mind madenning obsession. When you are spiritual you are peacefull you are overcome with a peace that knows not to even define itself, It just IS, pure!!!

  • Paul Morton has NO CLUE as to what he's talking about...

  • I like James Cone. A lot of what's being taught today defeats the whole purpose of having a brain. Having faith doesn't mean believe everything you hear coming from behind the pulpit.

  • I see the debate. The mind versus the Spirit is not an old argument. It is the traditional faith versus pragmatism debate. The two gentelmen make some valid points. But, the Word of God says that whatever is not faith is sin. In other words, without faith, we miss the mark.

  • Amen! Amen! Amen! Man this is so true until my PC is about to get off the desk!

    Midiman

  • excuse the misprint please

  • james Cone made some very valid points. Even the late great doctor MLK spoke against the emotionalism of pastors and preachers who never get around to teaching the bible. the bible says, 'For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desire, because they have itching ears, they will heap up teachers for themselves teachers". 2nd Tim 4,3... the bible also says " study to show yourself aproved to God" 2nd Tim 2,15.. and you study with your mind friends

  • the 'bottomline' is what do you mean by 'religion not solving anything in our communities". What basis is there for UR assumption that the black church (in particular) has to solve ALL the problems as you see them? If people CHOOSE not to follow or act on the orders & advice of the black church how can you blame the church anymore than one would blame a doctor whose patient refuses to take the medication prescribed? The prescription is JESUS- peace, love & forgiveness is the solution & healing

  • Idiots focus on everything but the message!!!!

American Black people need understand the message yet based on this particular person name just another fool who found them self a tribe in the bible to delude themselves.

James Cones sent a good message.

  • I really like what James Cone said! Never heard of him before, but I'm loving what he said!!!

  • I said it on another video, thank God for CONE! Morton is a religious dummy trying to be deep and don't know how. Great singer though but a religious illiterate. This was the first time I saw Noel Jones sitting on the platform. THE MIND IS EVERYTHING! And what's up with the dumb music in the back; why do we need the music, really?

  • @mysticgatherings

I have to disagree with you. The mind is not everything. There is always a balance for a christian . That is why the word says to love God with your heart, soul and mind. If you believe the Bible, God is a spirit. So why would a believer devalue the importance of the spirit? Your mind is finite(limited). If your relationship with Christ is based on your mind only, it will not last long because FAITH is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things NOT seen.

  • @dmoore76

Faith is not contigent on tangibility.

  • @dmoore76 wow....

  • @selfexplanitory

    wow what my brother?

  • @dmoore76 i don't think Cone was devaluing the spirit. as you noted, God is spirit. he noted that there's 'a spirit but not sure whose spirit it is'. that's the key. most black folk can think they are in the spirit when in reality it's just fleshly emotionalism. many are expert at making people move without God's spirit (ex. Paul Morton). the mind must be engaged to understand and discern spiritual things while the spirit restores and empowers the believer to greater works.

  • @victorious592

I think we must be careful when we start generalizing a group of people. No one can say "most people" do this or that because we do not know the majority of any group of people. Black folks are not monolithic. It is true that emotinalism takes over at times but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The Bible says that we do not serve a high priest that cannot be touched by the FEELINGS of our infirmities. Our relationship with Christ is emotional. The mind does need to be

  • @dmoore76

engaged and I encourage all believers to research the scriptures for themselves and pray for wisdom but as the mind is fed, the spirit needs to be fed. There has to be a balance. As far as Cone is concerned....He is definitely an intelligent man but I do not know if he is necessarily saved. When you feel that you are superior to any other group of ppl, that spirit is not of God.

  • @dmoore76 you are correct black. people are not monolithic. i was reaching a little. and emotionalism is not a bad thing. what i tend to see in today's church is a group of people who tend have been conditioned. where the choir and the preacher entertain the people. entertainment has been substituted for joy. i don't see cone as a better than type person. as he spoke i could sense a deep loneliness and frustration with some of those on the stage...

  • @victorious592 did you notice the quietness of those to his immediate right. they are your pharisees. however, many further down enjoyed what he had to say. i see people like cone as a type of john the baptist...a 'voice' crying in the wilderness. i don't know how the mind and spirit works really. i just know that we are called to love Him with all we have and to keep our focus on Him only. He alone is God.

  • I was listenin 2 this preacher, but i did not SEE him (i was preoccupied visually with other things)...but just listening 2 this voice, I thought I was listening to an old blk woman preacher. Doesn't this guy sound rather feminine? ... WOW...LAUWD HAM MERCY!!!

  • @Yashaabakadawbra an ol black woman hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

  • stuffblackchurcheslike.tumblr.com/

  • Correction:

Are we beginning to wake up?

  • Are beginning to walk up?

  • This is the Truth!

  • Spirituality is highly related to the mind

  • @sandroeleven, explain yourself

  • Any black that thinks christianity is the reason for their freedom is as dumb as I thought.

  • what's the music playing in the beginning?

  • Comment removed

  • @matthew11and25

    liberation--outkast

  • "Since our intellect is an image of God, it is true to itself when it remains among the things that are properly its own and does not divagate from its own dignity and nature. Hence it loves to dwell among things proximate to God, and seeks to unite itself with Him, from whom it had its origin..." Nikitas Stathatos from "The Philokalia" Blessings to you all.

  • "It's hard to get us together, UNLESS we are on stage" Dr. Cone......wow

  • James Cone....Thank You!

  • LOGICAL FALLACY:

there is no thinking in the black church...

  • Thank God for Brother Cone. I hope this message can reach every person in ministry today and convict those who are trying to sell Jesus like a product.

  • Love it!

  • mind in the trash can you dumb shits

    - ray waller

  • I know the stupid music really takes away form it. Why in the hell do we need it? They didn't have it when the man was speaking? And its on all the videos.

  • Great video! Annoying and wack music!

  • yes!!!

  • Liberation...nice!!

  • Cone is a great mind, no matter the race, gender, faith. One of the great thinkers with us today.

  • Eze.22:25 There IS a CONSPIRACY of her prophets in the midst thereof like a roaring lion ravening the prey they HAVE DEVOURED souls they have taken the treasure & precious things they HAVE made MANY widows in the midst thereof. this is describing Blasphamy which is teaching errors (on purpose) of the Holy Ghost/Spirit/WORD read verses 21-31 this is what all those on that panel do evry SUNDAY and sadly so sadly if you would just STUDY the BIBLE according to Isa28 line upon line ect. You would see

  • My pastor basically called our congregation bigots because our church was predominantly black in a predominantly white neighborhood. I emailed him to ask him why the surrounding churches were predominantly white with such a large number of hispanics and a good number of blacks. He has yet to reply. I think he's good at keeping it real in the pulpit and preaching the word.....entertaining..but when i asked him a real question he chose not to answer it...

  • I think Cone is on to something. Our people dont know a damned thing about how to survive in this world instead they're just told that they'll get theirs in heaven while their ministers stay fat and happy from love offerings and different dollar lines.

  • nice post*****

  • Dr. James Cone spoke so spiritual to the point to where you can see everything obviously....Go ahead doc...so did Bishop Paul S. Morton.

  • A powerful motivation for the Black Church. Challenge the complex sanctified mind of the Saint. We are in stride to make the church wholistic once again.

  • That is my presiding Bishop speaking!! (Go Full Gospel Baptist Church)

  • mine to Reppin GA

  • I love this video!!!!! The black church has drop the ball. I'm glad this video is posted. That's why I'm leaving the black church to go to a multiracial church. The black church is not like it used to be.

  • godsholywoman,

when you attend that multiracial church, you will encounter some of the same problems. No church is perfect. The church is not like it used to be because we are living in the last days. Revelations outlines the times we are living in.

  • dmoore: please answer this question, you said we are living in the last days, what are you talking about.

  • read Revelations

  • dmoore: i want you to tell me, because you might see revelations in one way and i might see it in a another .

  • Man, this video clip is clean!

I'm glad you put this up, it really got me into Black Liberation Theology.

    Much Love

  • Good video. BLK59
