  • usually trafica's get people busted on purpose, as a cover up. Thats wat happens to most of the people in locked up abroad.

  • Its sad how his friends were basically just party friends, the three friends did not have the slight word of input here, showing how close they are even.. Sad way of living life and not making those true friend bonds that will last a life time.. referring to the party life!!

  • Can Locked Up Abroads be considered Autobiographies?

  • His best bet would of been to escape with the Nigerians, from there he could of gotten directions to an American embassy (officially U.S soil) from there the Embassy would just use the Embassies private jet to get them out legally because its an American private jet and not permitting it to take off is like holding the The ambassador prisoner (a serious crime against any government).

  • & all these dudes still do drugs & are 40 yr old DEAD BEAT DADs still Smoking Dope & Ruining Peoples Lives. Especially Guy Provenzano. He's The BIGGEST Con-Artist Of ALL TIME. What a Bunch Of Loser SCUMBAGS.

  • the only reason, why they got caught was because they were acting paranoid too much, alot of sweating, a weird look on their face. if only they had been more calm, and relax and also play around make jokes on each other etc, they wouldve got away with it. the guards would no idea, that they were carrying drugs on them ! Tbh, i wouldnt get caught on things like this, because im not fcking stupid, sort out how the security works, i wouldnt even partied, freedom is not a thing to play with !

  • im not gunna lie, the part where he saw and spoke to his dad got me really emotional as if i was in his position right now. i even went straight to my dad after this video and gave him a big hug

  • This scared to crap outta me

  • Thumbs-up if you would have followed the nigerians

  • I LOVE THIS SERIES

  • If I were him, I would escape from prison with the Nigerians and find the US embassy or a place similar.

  • Brasil!!

  • Any Video w/ adverts at the start, give it a thumbs down. the youtube community has GOT to stand up against this shit and get em taken down. We dont watch vids for adverts, we watch them cause we wanna see the shows. THUMBS DOWN THIS VIDEO and eventually, uploaders wont allow the adverts. Take care

  • LOL.. Some spoiled, rich, white boys get busted for trafficking and the theme gets so sappy and poignant with so much melodramatics. If it was anyone else, people wouldn't give two shits.

  • @krnpowr I agree some of these episodes can be a bit sappy and they all are always so bright after that fact of being caught, not before it.... the only thing I disagree with is that they are always white. This show has featured people from all different walks of life... but in theory I agree with you, a bunch of whiney babies who didn't think of the consequences of there actions...I call it the poor me syndrome..lol

  • after i saw this i sat there with my mouth open for a few minutes wondering how/why he didn't escape when he had the chance.. i'm sorry but that was just unintelligent.. definitely one of THE MOST mystifying choices i've ever seen in my entire life.. and to think.. his friends actually followed suit.. i am dumbfounded.. its like someone giving u a million dollars and u saying "no thanks"

  • @videoshirt Dude, they would have been caught. Look what happened to those Africans.

  • @BigStick3456 what do u mean look at what happened to the africans? they escaped.. the remaining prisoners got beat lol

  • i think the thing that messed them up was trying to play it TOO cool at the airport.. as soon as he said "we got in line separately" i knew it was over.. no group of friends would ever do that unless they were trying to get away with something.. if the cameras see a group come in then later that same group is all in the same line in diff places, they are going to look extremely suspicious

  • I love how he describes every feeling and emotion, it makes you put yourself in that situation, and makes the story a whole lot more interesting.

  • escaping thru da wall shawshank style

  • the best episode ever

  • I HAVE 2 SAY THAT THIS WAS A VERY INTENSE AND GREAT EPISODE

  • something's off about the traffickers making him package it up n tape it up himself. I think its weird that he was just sitting there in silence. then the next thing you know they get busted at the airport out the blue. usually in these episodes airport security is given a reason to bring you aside and search you n your belongings. how did security know the drugs were taped under their arms, etc? were they tipped off? i mean, unless it was noticeable... oh, well.

  • @setuppunchie the security knew because they made it highly suspicious, specially when they were eating at the table and one of them got up to leave and brendan got up to tell him to sit down, that gave them away. and plus splitting up in different lines and constantly looking at each other gave it away too -__- .

  • Love this excellent program. This guy is a closet case. Trusss. I can imagine him being a pompous prick in the nightclub scene in LA just by looking in his face and how feminine he cries when speaking about daddy. I'm glad he did the whole 4 1/2. Lol!

  • Fucking stupid guy. I knew better than that when I was 5.

  • man this is scary but very sad at the same time

  • Dumbass should have stayed home. or atleast gotten a tan. If they are calling you gringo then they already know your a sketch ass, believe me, when I go to visit my family in brazil they call me that. get a tan

  • I think 4 years and 6 months were unfair They didn't kill no one ITs just Insane how they can serve that much time

  • @XManiiAkX Its cuz its a different country.

  • @XManiiAkX he was suppose to get 25 hahaha, same shit would happen here in the usa. except we pay mad tax money so ppl like that can live nice and eat better food then what they serve in public schools

  • I don't know about anyone else, but if I were offered the chance to escape a dirty prison I'd do it with no questions asked or hesitation. Reminds me strongly of the Ecuador episode, except that woman was already out of the prison and was too scared to go.

  • Touching story. Damn, Brazil is wild and fun but the drug lords are crazy. lol.

  • I can't believe they didn't touch that coke while they were locked in the elevator.

  • This was Interesting.

  • @YigsHorror I read elsewhere that they all got out but at different times, but around the same time, and he really didn't see them afterwards much.

  • Oh sure, When an American smuggles drugs for fun its sad and ok but when a Mexican smuggles drugs to survive and support his family hes a monster.

    Funny how that works lol..

  • @nintwiggy6491 Smuggling drugs is bad; it is neither here nor there if you are from America, Mexico, Brazil, Canadia (XD), Russia, it doesn't matter. What other people think about whether that person is "a monster" or that "it's sad and okay" is irrelevant; they are merely personal opinion and fallacy.

  • @Marth8880 Yea i believe you but im just saiyng if these guys were foreigners , Everyone would react totally different to this story and the media would make this a huge deal

  • @nintwiggy6491 Oh yeah, no, of course, that's purely human nature. :D

  • @Marth8880 I guess "human natutre" is really unfair

  • @nintwiggy6491 Yup.

  • @nintwiggy6491 Lol look up the word hypocrite idiots like you make me laugh loudly. Try not to compare so much your part of the reasons why we care more about these people, because they actually learn there lesson and have no priors, fuck tard.

  • Why would drug traffickers ask this guy to package cocaine?

This pussy said hes never done drugs and hes actually feeling high just being around the coke.

    What a bad choice.

  • lol this show sure loves the symbolic imagery of the upturned cockroach, don't they. every episode has a shot.

  • Wow!

Memo to myself: do not traffic drugs

  • @super8sean lol.

What if they offered you 25,000 dollars and a practically full proof plan?

  • I guess you know now you are not INVINCIBLE HUH.

  • am i a criminal?? No!! Am i a punk?? Yeah

  • how da hell did they get caught? they should have worn suits to look like businessmen

  • amazing story.

  • did all of his friends make it out alive?

  • couldn't give you $100 million to give up one day of freedom? congratulations! you just realized how america was born! freedom from the brits. and you, freedom from inmates and prison. i would rather be a homeless bum and have my freedom than a rich millionaire being told what to do by someone.

  • oh those nigerians. always got a trick up their sleeve.

  • sad

  • best way to learn a foreign language is to go to a prison abroad and stay there for four years XD

this video made me cry it literally reminded me of my father my dad would do something like this to me as well

  • need money get the hard way and you alwais be free

  • One minute you're listening to hipster music...the next you're attempting to smuggle cocaine out of Brazil.

    It happens THAT fast!

  • So an American rich Jew boy goes to Brazil to deal some drugies. He gets caught and rich bagel daddy comes to the rescue. Typical Kosher garbage.

  • This dude is a straight bitch.

  • unbelievable... the kind of insight you never wish to experience firsthand. I love Nat Geo!

  • @rija02 -Me too, Love Nat Geo! This was another great episode..You should watch the "Cuba" one as well if you have not already..That one was just as good!..

  • looks like the guy from Tosh.O

  • OMFG!!!

  • today a new episode!

  • GREAT! series! Love ya'! Nat Geo!.

  • If the Nigerians had so much money they would have been able to buy their way out of prison. His story is so full of BS! Also, he assumed that the white skinned and Asians were not brazilian and the brown skinned were. Typical druggy, stupid. Also intersting that the wife didn't want her face on tv, lol.

  • so what became of his homies.

  • wow!!! crazy! lol

  • can't they just like apologize, promise not to do it again and give the dope up and go

home! You know those pigs were slapping high fives like they just won the World Cup1

  • he's right about 100,000,000.00 dollars for freedom 100% right anyone who has done time will tell you that, i just wonder what there parole is like? because in the us u get 1/3 off for good behavior and the rest is done on parole

  • guys in underwear :) oh and nice story

  • This is the best show on television easliy.

  • @rossell30 I like it. But can you tell me why some of these are called banged up abroad and some called locked up abroad?

  • @scumgod13 Just a slang terminology for getting caught.

  • thank you nat geo!!!!!!!!

  • How in the hell do you speak Portuguese so good? Dumb...

  • Why would you walk around in a huge group of 4 gringos, you separate yourselves man.

  • @nazbites gringo logic

  • Nice, watched the whole vid

  • THANK YOU NAT GEO FOR THE FULL LENGTH EPISODES!

  • @diorknob This is awesome

  • This guy kinda reminds me of the judge on tyras americas top model. This guy and his friends were idios. God bless his father for being there.

  • Im sure he learned his lesson

  • LOL, he just put his friend Julio on blast..and Brazil got them big booty chicks

  • Love the show Hope there are more

  • This was excellent. I only wish the story also followed up on his friends and their whereabouts.

  • This is in 1080p?

    :D

  • Beautiful Ending

  • So... who has 'taken care of' John, the original and obvious perp in this story? He was the true criminal, and the one who victimized not only those incarcerated, but contributed to the epidemic of overdose and addiction worldwide. It seems that no justice has been taken care of in this story.

  • @deathrib Unfortunately if you were to somehow lock up all the "Johns" in the world others would take their place. Why? Because of the high price the drug users are willing to pay for it. I wouldn't do it but some are desperate or dumb enough to do it. I am not sure how wide spread this is but in some cities in Arizona there a program called D.A.R.E which is basically a course for kids in elementary to avoid drugs. If there are no consumers then there won't be no sellers. Kids are the future.

  • you tube watches you late at night and blocks your comments

  • This reminds me of the classic movie "Midnight Express" by Oliver Stone

  • @madmaxonliner Was a good movie....

  • touching story

  • That was amazing. At least he acknowledged that what he did was wrong.

  • Every one of those 3rd world cops was probably on the take. These dumb white boys were probably part of a deal with the gangsters that allowed the police to meet their drug bust quota so they could keep receiving US aid.

  • what happened to his friends?

  • I wonder what the attorney did to force the mean judge to take a vacation.

  • SO GNARLY Thumbs up if you've seen the slums of sao paulo before

  • That was a good episode.

  • Nevermind

  • First

  • First

  • so this will be a normal thing during the world cup 2014?

  • we all make mistakes, i see that he deeply regrets his decision and has moved on to be a better person. God bless

  • can anyone help with me with this firefox bullshit because the shit always fucking lagg!!!!!!

& while watching the locked up abroad, the fucking video stopped @ 21:18...

it plays back, but stops as soon after they get caught...

    sheezz.

  • @13l4CK try it in internet explorer

  • @13l4CK Download google chrome.

  • I'm glad they fucked up that child molester. I wish all prisons did that.

  • He looks and sounds so much like Daniel Tosh

  • uploaded on fathers day eh?

I see what you did there.

  • wait so wut happen to his friends?

  • @bitchboyplayer They got out at different times for working in prison (: , they havent spoken in a while though

  • I would have escaped.

  • And wow these guys are fucking dumb. Should have just escaped through the hole

  • @MrMaryJanes And what would they have done afterwards? They have no money and no connections within Brazil . How would they ever leave the country without getting caught again? Plus, his dad was coming down to see him. What would've he thought when he learned that his son escaped prison?

  • @wontonsoup771 Better than 4.5 years in one of the worst prisons in the world . Take your pick

    1. Country you don't know where no cops are gona be after your ass

    2. The worst prison in the world as a foreigner.

  • @MrMaryJanes It's better than becoming an international criminal for the rest of your life. Plus, they deserved it for being overly confident dumbasses. Would you go into a $50k deal without knowing what you were transporting? They did their time and learned some good life lessons.

  • Brazilian prisons are much better than American prisons..None of that gay shit..and the prisoners actually have quite a bit of freedom, not to mention the guards dont give a fuck.

  • NO ADVERTISEMENTS FTW!!

  • wow.... lucky everything can be bribe in brazil. cant imagine until he comes to america and get caught... the sentenced cant be changed..

  • MORDE ES #1 JAJAJ HUEHUEHUE

  • Nice story, i saw the Q&A with Brendan and its good to know hes living a normal life again

  • "this is grown man business" - ATL(2006)

  • @Tripp393 great movie

  • wow

  • this is awsome story

  • In Brazil you get all types of Buritos up your ass !

  • Snitch, that guy probably made a deal with the police to safe his ass.

  • it took me 7 minutes in to realize the guy in the video was being represented as someone else. epic fail -.-

  • @pink2ply hahahhaha lol.

  • "Julio was the ugly duckling of the crowd" *zoom in on unattractive pose* haha

  • 3:29 : "he just.. may have seen something in us; that we were wild & crazy enough"...

yeah right.. try he KNEW you were desperate & stupid enough to do his dirty work & take the fall you tool...

  • @sarahjf2007

    lol

  • @sarahjf2007 true, thats what i thought too. those people know exactly who they pick and why

  • Comment removed

  • 44:42 A man who tries to smuggle bags of cocaine doesn't think he's a criminal? *He* just made a bad decision? How ignorant & deluded. After 4 years in prison, he still thinks he's "not like those people"? He *is* just like them. He is them... minus the bribe.

...and this unemployed & unemployable ex-con w/ no work history for 4 years, met this 'beautiful Brazilian girl' & they live happily ever after? I guess that's the 'American happy ending' they had to add to make this palatable for USA.

  • @proteanview It's probably true. Alot of Brazilian women love American men simply because they provide the opportunity to come to America

  • @MrMaryJanes She was already in The States.

  • These are the best documentaries EVER! Please, Nat Geo, never stop uploading these AMAZING EPISODES!

  • i love watching these

  • Yo man this was good.

  • I locked up abroad before, so what?

  • @et720 so go to the National Geographic website and submit your story

  • Wouldn't her mom like to know that story

  • Recalls A Night at the Roxbury and the song "What is Love".. Bobbing my head.

  • idiots for accepting it

  • woah, so suspensful
