The science has been established: 1 degree Celsius total warming. If you burn the rest of it you get another degree. There is argument over the feedback and feedforward mechanisms. Most reasonable scientists are agnostic about this (but over the last million years you can see that the warm periods are mild as far as temperature change).

Also, there are corporations on both sides that stand to benefit from cap and trade.

There has been no global warming. Period, the end. It hasn't been warming. Look at a graph of global temperature over 5 thousand years. The numbers don't lie. The earth warms and cools without us, and right now we are trending colder than normal. We are more likely to enter an ice age due to a decrease in solar activity than we are to impact the future of the earth's climate with CO2 emissions. We account for 5-10% of global CO2 emissions. I say we need more CO2, plants will grow faster.

CO2 is very water soluble so whatever is not absorbed by plants as food for photosynthesis, is quickly absorbed by rainwater and the vast water bodies that cover the planet. When it gets into the water, it is also absorbed by algae or the other plants growing there. More is absorbed by plants through their root systems. In other words we don't need to waste our billions of tax dollars trying to interfere with a natural cycle that we cannot possibly alter.
