Here's a tip for you to cut domn the pain associated with glueguns:
Keep a bowl with cold water next to your work area (the closer the better). When you burn yourself, just dip your fingers in the water for instant relief. It cools the glue right away and prevents a light burn from turning into a 'skin ripping' gluegun accident; some hightemp glueguns are real killers...
Im a Fashion designer and I have a small room. I would like to make some kind of a board to put up designs and pictures that inspire me butI have no idea were to start.
@DuckyQueen350 cork board is fine but not very inspiring on its own and a bit predictable. Since the room is small I'd utilize your verticle space. String multiple rows of tension wires from about an inch from the ceiling to about an inch from the top of your desk or drafting table with eyelet screws. Thread the cable or stranded tension wire through eyelet and secure with a crimp bead. I'm a bit industrial with my styling so I'd use small bullnose or binder clips to attach your insiration.
@DuckyQueen350 If you want something more visually appealing than just a plain cork board, you can put some neat fabric over the cork and staple that down, or, If you could find some metal trays you can hang that, and stick papers and things up with some funky magnets!
I really like her style, its very eclectic but i don't think my boyfriend would ever let me do that to our home...he thinks that box shaped furniture is 'dynamic'.
omg i love lanterns! ^___^ I also have a bunch of small paper lanterns hanging in my room, but i also have real chinese ones made from fabric <3 i LOVE them!!
Here's my suggestion on doing an easy lamp (a friend of mine made this): Buy a tube of not-so-hard material and a cable with little lamps like you see them at xmas. Paint the tube if you like, cut little holes into it in no specific order all over it or make an ornament. Put the small lamps from inside the tube through the holes and fix with a hardening material. Put next to your bed - enjoy!
Hey y'all. I'm the dude with the viewer submission. Thanks for all the compliments. I'm glad you liked it and I'm glad Meg and Threadbanger saw fit to include my video. It's very flattering. We may just have to make some more.
The video was slightly edited for time for the Decor it Yourself show. If you want to see it in its entirety, click on my name.
I thought she already had a permanent spot! She doesn't?! PLEASE DON'T TEL ME THAT! This is my favorite. Give her a permanent spot if she doesn't have one already! PLEASE!
i like this new house stuff! i just got a new room and i have a branch to use as a curtain rod, but i don't have the other stuff i need yet. and: can't wait to get one of those paper lamps!
Hi! Thanks for responding. I forgot that threadheads was just for clothing. I thought you guys had ::gulps:: done away with Rob and Corinne. This show is good too :)
I love these decorating ideas, I find them inspirational and motivating to do up a room, which I have.
But, please! Megan, you address your audience as if we are inferiors, like babies that need things dumbed-down with mushy-gushy speech. Although it's harder, please speak to us like you would in a conversation, like Rob and Corrine do, for an easy reference.
It bothers me. The information is wonderful, but the ways its expressed feels demeaning, at least to myself.
What are you talking about, Ginofthewind, you're kind of just an asshole. Why don't you try making a weekly webisode and then judge her fucking tone of voice. Get a life.
You've got to be kidding me. Have you ever had a conversation with a camera? It's not easy. Meg does a fine job of it. Rob and Corinne's narration may seem more conversational to you because, well, there's two of them.
my friend made a clay lightswitch cover by putting clay over a metal cover, decorating it (putting screw holes too) and baked it. It turned out so pretty!
This is truly the best show. Great ideas, cool green theme while being totally stylish and hip. I love the addition to Threadbanger. Keep these comin'!
i saw some in mexico that were AWSOME they were made out of gords! I took pics. I think I'm going to try to make some this year they were selling for 80 bucks or more in MEXICO!
I hung Christmas lights in my room(:

Do away with vintage lamps? Are you kidding?
Nothing could be more green then salvaging old items. Including lamps. Not to mention that they were constructed much better then today's models.
Vintage lamps can easily be rewired to be more energy efficient. And the rarity of the old lamps is the perfect way to personalize one's space.
