  • @Blacuchops your localhost ip is 127.0.0.1

  • This video is 2 years old... Wait 5 more days...

  • ironic he was talking about buffering then at 0:29 my vid froze...

  • netsh winsock reset

  • This is Awesome!

  • do u have a twitter acc?

  • this is the best video and i wnt some more

  • if your browser says bad certificates or close to that make sure your windows time it set right

  • Mine says you need elevation

  • @MEDLI123 If your question regards the part with the netstat command: When, under Windows Vista or 7, creating a file on the C:\ drive directly, you need Administrator privileges. You can try out placing the file on your desktop instead.

  • how do you run as an administrator??

  • @yoshi12340 Right Click>Run as administrator

  • worked fine

  • yo guys just a thing what is the Best OS for GAMING performance

  • @adiga1234567890 win 7 and xp

  • @adiga1234567890 id say windows 7 ultimate

  • @adiga1234567890 i think windows xp cause its not overboard with the visuals

  • Would resetting the network sockets close the Internet for everybody connected to the same as me for a little, like my family using a modem? Just wanna make sure before I do it... wouldn't wanna make my dad restart taxes. :P

  • Holy cow dude you are so smart how do you do all this?

  • @StickyKarateLover Not to call him stupid, but he most likely finds things that others made themselves. He just has enough computer save to use them, which isn't too much, though he is very smart

  • @StickyKarateLover its called the internet.

  • Wow. HUGE improvement. Speakeasy gave me 14 Mbps DL and 3 Mbps UL before I did all this. After I did it all - not more than five minutes later - I was getting 105 Mbps DL and 2 Mbps UL. My upload speed is worse.

  • Why would web page temp files slow the browser down? Isnt the point of these files to make loading faster?

  • On the speakeasy test I have cox so during the upload test it spiked, that is the power of Power Boost!

  • @gudenaurock FUCK YOU FOR TEASING ME!!!

  • Before

    Download: 0.42Mb/s

    Upload: 0.18Mb/s

    After

    Download: 3.28Mb/s

    Upload: 0.48Mb/s

    Thats a big difference!

  • Thanks man!! Before I follow your steps my speed was download 2.00 Mbps and upload 0.45 Mbps and after following the steps the down speed became 4.00 Mbps and the up 0.61!!! Thank you!!

  • I have an Old Computer with P4 CPU @2.8MGH with 512 Meg of PC3200 Ram running windows XP Pro. Machine is a dog and Internet speeds WERE a dog. Was running Internet Explorer Now running Firefox" 'this switch alone improved loading web pages greatly but I did not do another speed test. Before doing everything on gigifide's list of improvements here are the speed numbers. Before: Download 2.95Mbps / Upload 1.06 Mbps After: download 22.5Mbps / upload 1.07 Mbps. TCP optimizer & router reboot.

  • @mikethemoneymaker After downloading TCP optimizer and adjusting the scale the Ping latency dropped from 100ms then to 81ms then to a low average of 35ms. I must be honest and say I don't know exactly what Ping millisecond latency/lag numbers are but it sounds like it takes less time for the Internet mechanisms to talk to each other...so it must be a good thing.

Payed VIPRE did not pick up 18 virus and Trojans FREE antivirus did. Plus stopped Java Quick start Process from running at start up.

  • BEFORE; download/16.96, upload/3.46, now its download/ 20.48, upload/ 3.49. THANKS!!! but any other tip on getting my upload speed up?

  • @TheTarrMan I resetting my router and got; download/20.07, upload/3.53. Uploading is the only thing I really car about and it's still faster than it was.

  • halp!

  • what is ping?

Does it make ur internet faster

  • @ranabahawal pretty much how fast your computer can send packets to the host to make it in simple terms, and yes it determines a lot of your internet

  • Does this method work for poor schmucks who still use dial-up since they are so poor?

  • I love watching your videos but there are just 2 problems:

1: Can you post something to do with Macs internet other than PC's

2: You speak too fast, i cant keep up with you!

  • you can also try unplugging your router for 10 seconds and plugging it back in sometimes mine goes nuts and slows my internet down to around 2 mb after a reset its back up to 20 mb

  • why does everyone say he is hacked its not him being hacked its his profile being compromised not necessarily hacked

  • GIGAFIDE IS HACKEDD!!!!!!!! AGAIN???

  • I think gigfide is hacked!

  • whats with all his videos titles?

  • @pugsown13 yeah i noticed it too i think giga fide is hacked

  • @TheKhlover and @pugsown,u r rite

  • "Halp!" Lol.

  • I'm confused. How come 4.2.2.2 is fastest? i can see that 10.0.0.1 is fastest, acording to that green and blue bar, they are the longest :S.....

  • @DearsRenRen yea but itll take too long for cache pages, which isnt good

  • @DearsRenRen 10.0.0.1 is the one he was using.

  • @DearsRenRen The Shorter the Better.

  • @Achokiador thanks

  • @DearsRenRen Shorter the better

  • @DearsRenRen The bar indicates the time it takes to load the page. So the short the bar the faster the time the longer the bar the slower the time.

  • @DearsRenRen The longer the bar the longer it took to load the page

  • @DearsRenRen I think he means that the longer the bar is the longer it will take to load.

  • @DearsRenRen The red bar is for cache, you don't care about how fast cached pages can load.

  • @ryandward Even then, the blue and green bars were longer, Im pretty sure he ran the test, wrote the script, then the program that made this video ran it again with a different result

  • @DearsRenRen if you listen the length of the bar equals the time it took to load, so the longer length the longer time .........

he wants blue and green are regular websites and he wants to load regular websites faster so he selects 4.2.2.2 because those bars are shortest meaning they take the least amount of time.

    worst comprehension of grammar ever.

  • @DearsRenRen cuz the ones that the 4.#.#.#.# are the sucure us conections and if it has the tan dot next to is same thing not a secure useful server

  • @DearsRenRen 10.0.0.1 Is your localhost IP Meaning you would cause an infinite loop if you do that.

  • i cnt do dis i live in the uk

  • i love this vids

  • underground browsers are the fastest

  • NERD Xd

  • "The Requested Operation Requires Elevation"

What Does That Mean I Need Help

    PLZ

  • @LOPSIDEDAHL elevation is height, try lifting your computer alittle higher.

  • AccesS DENIED! I need help

  • Right click it and select "Run as administrator"

  • @mikael971117 Thank You !!!!!!!

  • @LOPSIDEDAHL No problem! :-)

  • before: 0.93 mb

    after: 1.01 mb

    thx

  • @legofan1111 LOL mine runs over 5 times faster than yours lol#

  • @Mariorampage56 -.- ok lol

  • oh and also if this doesn't work at all try to see whats your cpu usage and if it is high go to your task manager and go to processes and delete things that are working around the back round and kill the processe

  • Improved speed by dns software .. thumbs up.. 1 mbs faster

  • No difference on my Desktop Except for a .001 difference on my upload speed...

But I am gonna try this on my laptop

  • @dani121121 stfu made 8 computers for myself and I've just finished my programming course in oxford, you think I dno how to use a computer? And don't cry about it hahaa dick

  • @Jamiepoop123 hey i dont know if u know sooo very good using computers :P

but iv better dont do that , like u say ! "Idont whant to stey without my internet : / "

And recomend to no one do that .... lolz

  • @Jamiepoop123 if you did a programming course and make computers you should know how to use the internet and how to fix the internet if it fucks up. Faggot.

  • @Jamiepoop123

    Go suck a dick, dick.

  • Ur a dick!! Don't try this!! He screwed my internet! I've had no internet for 4 days now! Been trying to fix it and being forced to reinstall windows! Thanks fucktard!! >:(

  • @Jamiepoop123 that means your a retard who dosnt know how to use a computer

  • thanx man i got 0.10 mbps more with this one tyvm, at this point ive used so many tricks that its like doing a time trial and setting the track record; im shaving off little by little slowness to my pc with each new trick lol

  • gigafide i done the dns one and ever since every time i restart my internet i always get a meesage saying proxy server does not respond every time i have to go to tools and manual how can i fix this?

  • Hmm didn't seem to work for me ;) when i changed the dns, actually browsing was a little slower, and buffering was a little slower, but thanks! I think i feel the socket, and antivirus software kicking in!

  • fantastic thanks!

  • is 10.90 mbps down and 1.37mbs up good?

  • @DomTheRulerOfUndead Are you kidding that is 20x faster than mine!

  • @jonathan22711 its now at 11.17 down and 1.47 up

  • thx alot gigafide :3 helps alot thx for halping!

     :P

  • I'm using OpenDNS at the moment and it's just working fine. I found your video about the DNS Benchmark, and I find out that OpenDNS isn't the fastest in my case! So I got a question, what are the differences between the green sport and the kinda brown spot in the DNS Benchmark?

  • i dont like downloading shit because theres alot of a##holes that give viruses

  • @Halomaster1006 gigafide isnt like that.

  • mine is 7.98 mbps is that good?

  • @mrsubscribe11 no :)

  • Thanks gigafide!

  • u can use ccleaner i use it it makes my hole comp fast :D

  • #LOL cool vid

  • Linux tip: #LOL

    in terminal, type "/etc/init.d/networking start"

  • @jojojme7 it's called crayon physics

  • isnt ine frst one the sastest?

  • WINDOWS 7 INSTRUCTIONS TO USE C PROMPT/CMD AS ADMIN OR ELEVATE.

Go to: 1) START (2) ALL PROGRAMS (3) PUT MOUSE OVER C PROMPT/CMD ICON (4) RIGHT CLICK MOUSE (5) CLICK "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" FROM MENU (6) DIALOGUE BOX POPS UP & CLICK YES. AND YOUR GOOD TO GO. Any program that asks you to run as admin in order to change or modify something, just go back to program icon and right click for menu and click on "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR".

  • when i do comand prompt; click run type "cmd" it comes up i type in netsh winsock reset as you did and what comes up is "The request operation requires elevation" and just in case theres only one account on my laptop and obviously i am the administrator but anyways i right click run to see if i can run as administrator and the option doesnt come up so i run it and do what i just told you. I hope you free time and could help me out.

  • i alreedy hv 9.34 mbs i dont need any more

  • I got .25 mb faster, and no more buffering on youtube. Great video and thanks man.

  • that dns benchmark thingi.. how can we run that if im connected through a router.. for me the best it shows is 192.168.1.1 which is my local network.. how can i by pass that..

  • holyshit!...over 3more mb gained dl speed. subscribing now

  • doesnt work on xp. by the way, what screen recorder are you using.

  • Thx dude 500KB faster with this tips !

  • when i try to reset the winsock it says this operation requires elevation, what does that mean and how can i get past it

  • @tgavin11

You need to run it as an administrator.

Just right click it and select "run as administrator" and it should work fine.

  • @tgavin11 rune cmd.exe as admin

    if you have vista/7:

go to your startmenu, search cmd.exe, right click it,

    select "run as administrator"

    --

    xp:

log into an administrator account, then go to command prompt (cmd.exe)

  • It also speeds up the whole PC

  • That Reset really speeds it up.

  • after doing all that stuff would the speed difference be noticable?

  • Do you have a 64-bit software alternative please one can use Windows 7 with?

  • u r amazing dude !!!

  • oh shit his videos are still up

  • You havent close your counputer for 8 hours lol 4:33

  • hey that speed test, what do i do because i don't live in america, i'm in australia.

  • just type speed test in search, there are many that will work down under ;)

  • the speed depends on your internet provider and ping latency than your internet browser

  • wow!!!

  • My download speed was doubled after using DNS Benchmark. Upload was reduced by 2kps, but it's not like I'm a youtube host or something.

  • how come in the mornin my internet is fast

but in the aftenoon is slugish ?

    HELP !?

  • hi, during everyday the internet has a peak peroid of which it is the fastest. the morning is usually the peak period, but the afternoon sometimes isn't.

  • Someone's probably using your wifi during their lunch break...

  • The bandwidth of your cable/dsl depends partially on how many people are using it at that particular time in your area. More people/teens use the internet in the afternoon hours so you have to share with more people. Also, I have heard that ISP's will limit your bandwidth to accommodate more people in peak hours. (Noob response with some validity)

  • probably because more people are using the phone line that you are connected to in the afternoon, and so more information from the houses down your street is having to be sent down it. So it is slower.

  • Pretty good! I got a 2013 kbps download increase (from: 7894 kbps -> to: 9907 kbps) and a cute 109 kbps upload increase (from: 877 kbps -> to: 986 kbps).......... Nice job man. Helped alot.

  • my Speed increased 1Kb/s LOL, thanks anyway

  • Thank you, my download speed "increased" from 5485 kbps to 4262 kbps

Oh and youtube videos don't load anymore.

    Thank you very much.

  • Well my speed increased, so I guss you made a mistake.

  • I did everything on the video, and my DVD drive started opening and closing while spitting out Kit Kat bars from the tray.

I think I need to run another virus scan or something...

  • thanks works perfect i have such good speed!

  • wow this is great!

  • which bar do we want again? red blue or green?

  • green and blue

  • PC tools internet security has one of the biggest virus databases therefor i choosed it as my number one av

    ALSO

pc tools is has a really good behavior (threatfire) detection and a rally good removal

    MY FAVORITE ANTIVIRUS FOR SURE..

  • A-squared and MalwareBytes are my preference for virus scanners.

  • I don't have Internet Protocol Version 4, just "Client for Microsoft Networks", "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks", "QoS Packet Scheduler", and "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)".

Is there something wrong? If so, how do I fix it?

  • @dragonboyjgh

click the install button in your connection properties. chose to install only

IPv4 and IPv6 if avalible, IPv6 not critical

  • @dragonboyjgh

disregard that last comment, your "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" it what has the IPvX integrated into it.

  • i am an AT&T tech from California... and my question is..

If I am using a DHCP connection, can the change of DNS work? and I mean every time that my internet connection drops I use this DNS servers:

    68.97.156.1 or the alternate

    68.97.157.1

but that's for a PPPoE connection.. can it work while using DHCP???

  • i just realised after doing the test i am getting 22mbps

  • wow i knew it would work but i didnt expect it to be so drastic it started out at 2.25 mbp/s and it went as fast as what the provider clames 3 mbp/s

  • trendsecure isnt free

  • i cant even load this youtube video and i have a 7mbps internet speed!!!

  • how i can make a " \ " on my keyboard?

  • @napolihuhn you press the / button by the right shift key

  • i stopped helping people with there computer awhile ago.

I realised its a undefeatable cause.

Disabling QoS (Quality of Serivce) in your network connections panel can boost Throughput pretty well. (upto 10%)

Windows at least, used to use QoS to reserve bandwidth for windows updates or other windows related tasks. Disabling it can boost speeds in XP.

  • You sound like a hardened criminal.

  • so how much faster did this make your internet?

  • when i asked the cmd to reset the sockets

    it said

    higher elevation required ?

    help ?!

  • @thecubanmann try running cmd in administrator mode

  • @thecubanmann run cmd with administrator ^^

  • You know of all the Firefox about:config hacks right?

  • Doug where do you live?

  • helped my speed a bit. speed test showed it jump a little. ill test it out and see how it works. also another way to speed up the computer is to run a disk defragment and simply go through old files and programs that you dont need or use on a regular basis.

  • Helped a lot thanks!!!

  • i seen this video last night, didn't think i needed to speed my shite up but holy shit, when i downloaded fallen earth.... THE LAG WAS SO unbelieveably bad that i rage quit, came back to this page and started watching t he video again.

idk why but that is the first game iv experianced lag in.... its probly all the game but ill speed up my comp just to make sure

  • for the speakeasy speed test there is no vancouver so if i do washington its going to be slower

  • 0:43 top middle square is Magic Pen!

  • thats funny i noticed that also LOL

    LUV THAT GAME!

  • the requested operation requires elevation.

  • First, thankyou for taking the time to produce FREE, quality-made PC DIY videos. Second, followed all steps, seems to have sped up the browsing experience a tad however the "speakeasy" speed test seems to have a glitch. i live in OH so Chicago is closer however when i did the test after the tweaks the dwnload was slighlty slower and upload was slighty faster. I then chose washington dc which showed a higher download and upload than the first test.

  • So I just went through all the steps verbatim.

Except the DNS IP change at the end didnt register for some reason, it let me make the change but when I went back in to the network connection later the change didnt exist, it was back to default.

But, my internet speed is being clocked as SLOWER than before. Whats up with that?
