At last Sony stream music wireless over Bluetooth Stereo A2DP from your cell phone and voice conversation , all others Alpine and Kenwood suck with only MONO Bluetooth 1 channel for voice conversation not permit you to stream music it retarded 2 years before adopt new technology like Bluetooth Stereo (Dual Channel Music stream A2DP) .
Alpine and Kenwood do same stupid mentality with 2 years retarded before out head unit with Mp3 capability , and now it repeat the same with Bluetoth Stereo
I bought this about 2 weeks back from a person who was using it.every thing works fine But when i try to connect it to a phone nothing happens.is there some kind of device needed for the phone to connect to the headunit. which he might have forgotten to give me when selling it to me.Plz can anybody help?

Yeah the headunit has a built in mic which is used whenever you make or recieve a call.
The main reason I purchased this headunit was that it combined the best of everything with handsfree calling / MP3 playback support & bluetooth music streaming from any compatible device. It is so much easier being able to put new tunes on to my phone & then stream them direct to the headunit in full quality sound & the ability to play / pause / skip tracks.

as for me... i reaaly dont need a BT head unit... just like in this clip, i have a sony ericsson K800i... i just wire it to my car radio... saves hundreds of dollars...lol
hi!!!... all you really need is a head phone jack for sony ericsson phones w/out the little speakers on the tip and instead it is an open port for a standard headphone jack....
and then i bought a tape that has a minijack at the end(just like the standard jacks on the earphones) and then i put the tape in the stereo and then connect the jack and the port... then activate your phone and there you go... music from the cellphone

hi mate, im from argentia and i buy this sony bt audio car... but i cant conect my k610 whit this.... i turn on the bt signal in both, but my phone cant find the bt signal of the bt2500....

hi, i have the same stereo but, i can´t see any radio station info. like you when it displays heart fm or something like that , im from mexico and i know that RDS is available here because my SE w710i catch RDS signal perfectly so please help . thanks for your relply and sorry for my bas english.

Do you think its needed to have a sony ericsson mobile phone to be able to use all functions of BT2500. Cause I have one and sometimes I have some problems about the connection between phone and the bt2500. And I cant use the bluetooth audio function now. I only can use the bluetoothphone. And as I said sometimes I have problems about connection.
Do you think its because of not having a sonyericsson mobile phone?

I don't think you have to have a Sony Ericsson phone for the audio part to work but I believe that Sony phones will have been fully tested & confirmed working compared to other brands of phones.
I'm thinking about getting one of these units, mainly for the aux input so I can hookup my Zen Vision:M, and the bluetooth so I can use the hands-free feature with my phone. Is the player worth getting for these 2 features? How well does the hands-free feature work for you?

It was installed by a garage as I was having the car serviced at the same time but from what I'm told it's very easy.

nope... just put the phone near the gear shift... my floor is carpeted so i dont need to worry about scratches... :D

As far as I know the RDS is already active when you first switch on the stereo.
If not i'd say to check the instruction manual to see if there's a setting to switch it on & off.

I've not used the aux input as of yet coz i've been using the bluetooth streaming so can't really say much about that.
As for the bluetooth phone calling, it works excellent & everyone i've called on it says the sound quality is excellent.
