@Baberbabes Unfortunately Social services police themselves and this leads to corruption as they have to answer to no-one. In my case I was a foster carer and witnessed a social worker assualt a child in my care no less than three times.

To cut a long story short, I was warned to stop complaining or social services would make sure it would effect me financilly, in other words no more placements. I refused and was sacked. reported to police, child protection, SSSC, my MSP, but no action taken

Just because the SSCC did not withold your appeal does not prove they police themselves, it proves they did not believe you had a case worth investigating. If you feel there is a problem with this decision request an ombudsman or a judicial review!

@twinksgem I totaly agree with you that legaly they cant police themselves but its fact and I have the proof they did in my case. the only reason no one can do anything is the fact the child refuses to talk about what happened. I have now moved on as it's nearly 4 years and wouldnt be fair to drag the child involved into it all again. I will wait till he is older and if he wants my help to sue SS/SW I will give him all the help I can. And I cant afford solicitors rates. but thanks.

@twinksgem As for SSCC they sent their reply by return post giving them no time even read my very detailed report I sent, let alone any investigation. they did say that they had had no complaints made to them regarding the SW invloved.

I would have expected it to take more than 1 day to do a detailed investigation.

My report was delivered and signed for on the 23rd the date on their letter head stating there was no need for them to investigate was dated the 23rd.

MP's have higher rights than the judiciary - so can reveal the evidence. Prehaps your question should be how come the public cannot be told the facts? There are 2 departs that work in total secrecy... MI5 and social workers.

Many of these comments are ridiculous. I have direct experience of ss, and I have yet to come across anything that suggests that social workers are 'selective' about the children they try and get adopted. From my observations, adopted children have usually been put at risk of appalling harm by incompetent parents. While sws may, of course, sometimes be at fault, everyone here is behaving as if they are always at fault. If parents didn't abuse and neglect children, ss wouldn't exist.

Children were being taken for adoption purposes. Some boroughs made millions in adoption targets payments.

Children are taken for "emotional abuse" a term without legal meaning. Children are taken at birth because mum was raped, or has dyslexia, or low IQ.

Damn even the weddings are being cancelled 2 days ahead of time because of a mum's IQ.

I have no respect for social workers. I KNOW how they work . I swear they have brains made of scrambled eggs. My brother's foster son(who is now his adopted son) was removed from his loving foster home and placed back with his drug addict mother. Thankfully someone caught on and put him back where he belonged, but the poor child was traumatized for a long time!!!!

Many good social workers have left due to the system. They too had great intentions at the start - and found management overuled them with dire consequences.

Bear in mind that your best intentions are irrelevant.

If the system and your managers are corrupted, with institutionalised malpractice being rampant then it will stipulate what happens to the child.

Many "good" social workers resign for this reason.

Just be honest with yourself, and don't promise anything to your clients. Work with the client, and try to find possible solutions to solved their identified problems, and be sensitive to their needs.

If anyone went into one of these court proceedings not knowing anyone or anything about the case they could still easily see they are corrupt. First off just look where everyone sits. On one side of the court you have parents sitting next to their attorney who is ussually court appointed and does very little to defend them. Then you see the caseworker who is supose to be helping the parents sitting next to the prosecutor and the Gal is sitting there also you tell me if its fair

CAMHS feed directly into CAFCASS & SS.

CAMHS aren't specialists, often they're badly trained SS.

The children never get better, and end up going to CAMHS indefinitely.

We have several concerns about CAMHS.

Get a tape recorder.

You need all of this recorded, as at the moment she'll deny it.

Worse they will "label" you as uncooperative.

In their reports, and you'll have no evidence against them. You can't use the actual tape in court.... but the work around is to transcribe whats on the tape for the judge.

There are several stages to this.

1. Don't tell anything bad to the shrink, or you won't get the children back.

2. Be seen to co-operate - or you won't get your kids back.

3. If this is a doctor (not a psychotherapist - then use the doctor to overrule them.

It's a bit complex - but often then can get you stuck in therapy - as a means of shutting you up. So watch out for that ruse.
