  • how is it six? Ump called dead ball before the run was completed

  • Yes, but the 5 runs don't get put onto the batsman's score, its penalty runs. (Which isn't byes, Leg byes, No Balls, or Wides, but a seperate category)

  • Awesome

  • lol pak sick

  • I would aim for helmet all the time!

  • @msvisio that's why it was "banished" lol

  • I wonder if captains have ever thought of having 4-5 helmets out on the ground with fielders next to each one, kinda like a mousetrap for the batsman

  • So hitting the helmet means it's a six ?

  • @minhaj18 for hitting the helmet he gave 5 scores. 4 for the supposed boundary and 1 as the punishment penalty. 6th run is taken of-course by running between the wickets.

  • @minhaj18 no, hitting a helmet, a hat, or a mound of sawdust means five runs are awarded to the batting side. This was six, because it hit the helmet AND they ran a single.

  • lollll

  • Wait for it... Jackpot!! chinchin...

  • so if u put the helmet on the rope. it hits the helmet on the full. 11 runs? lol.

  • @CallOfDutyAustralia when you put helmet on the rope, its not in the field, so when ball hits helmet,no additional runs would be given

  • @CallOfDutyAustralia no u retard

  • when i was growing up we had our pitch up against a fence so if u hit a legside shot over the fence was 6. about 4-5m :p meanwhile on offisde it was like 45m *grass grew better where we had pitch :D

  • is that rule still valid because it seems gay!!

  • @sou021: What's gay here?? That's a very simple rule

  • @sou021 yeah the rule is still there.. there is nothing gay in the rule, just in your mind

  • "he's been banished for giving away runs", lol

  • Assume this happens when you need 6 runs of the last ball !!!

  • @cakes181286 then nobody would go for that kind of sweep either....lol

  • A point of interest: if the fielding time has a helmet on the field, it has to be behind the wicket keeper. Sides used to put one in specific locations to try to get the batsmen to hit it to increase the chance of taking a wicket, so the rule was changed.

  • @TommyHayter That's interesting, i didn't know that. Thanks for the comment.

  • haha, i once hit a six back in park cricket by blocking it straight to mid off. the ball went straight between his legs and we took 2 runs. then he was annoyed at his misfield so he threw at the stumps, missed, and gave 4 overthrows.

  • HAHAHHA! AND SHIT! YOU CANT CHALLENGE THE TITLE! SO I'L LIKE THE VIDEO!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. love cricket

  • how does hitting the helmet get u 5 runs??

  • @diz24e It's just one of those rules. By keeping the helmet in the field, the fielding team are creating an "obstruction" so to speak. And it's at their own risk such that if the ball hits the helmet, you get 5.

  • Wait why is a six

  • @MrTurfed If ball hits the halmet(if there any) behind the wickets, 5 runs are given to the batting team. In this case, they also took a single by running. That means 6 runs on single ball.

  • what the fuck happened,,, any body tell me , how is this a six

  • @gsinghbjatt77 if a ball touches a helmet, or I'm I'm not mistaken any other object the fielding side puts on the ground it is 5 runs, plus the 1 run = 6

  • @tFGaming tanx

  • @gsinghbjatt77 5 runs because the ball hits helment(obstruction) 1 run as he runs...

  • @satyvirjasra tanx

  • I like the way Ramiz thinks it was a flick of the wrist xD

  • I understand that the ball striking the helmet gives the batsman five runs and he was given an extra one for his running between the wickets. But surely the ball becomes dead as soon as it hits the helmet and, since the batsmen were nowhere near crossing when this happened (check the vid at 0.29), the extra run shouldn't have been allowed.

So this should have been five runs and not six right?

  • @sprouty11 Yes but you fail to realize its the piece of shit Steve Bucknor who is the umpire. He was schizophrenic and often did whatever he felt like.

  • @madarchot Ha ha. Fair enough :)

  • by laws there should be no object in the field other than fielders to stop runs. This helmet is used by silly fielder or the keeper during the innings to stand close to the batsman. so if a ball after being hit by a batsmen strikes that helmet the batsman will be awarded 5 runs.

  • NVM NOW I GET IT

  • IM CONFUSED HOW IS IT A SIX

  • @The51239 a single plus the 5 penalty runs for hitting the helmet.

  • i also got that kind of six in one friendly match

  • funny!

  • imagine if they needed 5 off the last ball and that happened

  • @feathertopDT who would go for a sweep shot when you need six to win though?

  • @CoDMan1337 imagine a bottom edge or a spinner bowling the last over and no cover out there

  • I've known about that rule for ever but have never seen it happen, thanks for the upload.

  • how is that a six!

  • @karan1234533

if the ball hits the helmet or any not-worn gear of fielding team, 5 runs are given to batting team as penalty .... since they scored one by running, so they got 6 in total

  • Fuck balls!!

  • The commentator is making out like he meant to do it...hah

  • title of d video . awesome hahaha

  • anyone else thought when he goes for the sweep, maybe just maybe it was gonna carry to the boundary.

  • Thats the first six of the innings..loll.

  • i came here expecting to see some ridiculously small, possibly illegal sized boundary lol

  • I remember that moment..

I watched that match live on TV...

  • brilliant find!! hahahahaha

  • five runs even if ball hits to any stuff laying on the ground like cap, shoe, guard etc

  • sangakkara is like- ''shit, i could've caught that bitch....''

  • hahahahaha, grt one :D

  • but... why?

  • @adamthecg it's a rule in cricket if the ball hits the helmet (the one which is behind the wicket keeper), the batsman gets 5 runs :)

  • @gamzun so then why do they bother putting the helmet there?!?!

  • @adamthecg A helmet is a possession of the fielding team and it obstructs the ball . So for stopping the ball w/ that gives away 5 runs penalty . They keep helmet there for the wicket keeper if he needs it . Now all cool ??

  • can u please upload the highlights of this match.......

  • yes you're correct, it was 2002.

  • hey this was in 2002.........not 2003

  • Wooooooow Haaaaaaahaaaaaaaa
