  • dear santa....

  • what model is that g31 board?

  • Haha, I have the same motherboard. Didn't notice until now :)

  • I got Intel core 2 duo E8500 3,8ghz new revision

    Nvidia gtx260 896mb 216sp 55nm

    4GB A data ddr2 rams 800mhz

    500GB HDD

    650W corsair

  • thank you very much.... i just had a confution as one of my friends confused me about it....

  • G31 is DDR2 motherboard...

is it compiatble with 9600GT which is a DDR3...

please relpy... im in serious need........

  • @swank502 the DDR2 refers to the type of ram. This does not dictate what type of memory needs to be used on the graphics card. This board has a pci-e 1.1 slot and is compatible with all pci-e 2.0 graphics cards. So you can use any graphics card on the g31 motherboard.

  • Is this build great? on budget:

    E 3200 or 3300

    Motherboard Asrock

    2GB 800MHZ DDR2

    320GB Sata HD

Graphics card can you sugggest any?

  • @LownerVid HD5670

  • that heatsink on 9600gt sucks. i would prefer the original nvidia stock cooler for 9600gt. my stock board seems run really cool at idle 41c in winter and 43c in summer, full load between 56~58c. but now i downclocked it to 550/1210/900 and idle temp stay at 38c in winter/40c in summer, full load in 54~56c. fan spin is 40% in idle. which is better board :)

  • Holy shit! thanks man

  • Im planning on a build using similar ahrdware except an e5300 processor.

However the gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L iG31 seems to only have 1 system fan header, when the case i want has 3 or 4 fans. Did you use a splitter or link them to the power supply. I would prefer not to link to the psu as i would like to control them using something like speed fan etc. How would you do it?

  • As I just need to sell my Mac (which shouldn't be that hard) I'm getting a similar spec PC:

    Intel E1500 / E3300

    2GB RAM

    ATI Radeon HD4650 512MB DDR2

    160GB HDD

    After overclocking is it ok?

I know that the HD4650 is terrible. When I'll get more money I'll swap it with a 9600GT

  • ati 4650 isn't too bad, You will just need to play at like 720P instead of 1080P or 1920 x 1200.

  • i suggest go with the 4670 it has awesome performance for it price i mean crysis high 768p is pretty awesome for that price

  • @PS2Gameplays The 4650 is a 9600GT equivalent. Upgrading wouldn't do anything for you, I'd recommend a Radeon 5750.

  • @PrecociousPanda

    HD4650 is 512MB 64-Bit DDR2 Memory

    9600GT is 512MB 256-Bit DDR3 Memory.

Figure which one is faster yourself

I don't even have that crappy CPU anymore. Quad rules.

  • @PS2Gameplays if u still haven't bought the card id suggest getting a 1gb card :P some new games are going to be quite intense.

  • @ThatMmosGuy I have a 9600GT and not planning to upgrade it for the next 6 months.

  • yea by the way i'm having e1500 what kind of cpu cooler you're using? when i attemp to overclock higher than 2.2 it's getting 65+ :D

  • You should check your case's air flow and that you cpu coltage is set to stock in the motherboard bios. I used AS5 thermal paste and just the stock heatsink / fan. Also what proram are you using to check the temperature?

  • The deal is:

I pre setted my whole CPU and heatsink applied new thermal paste. My whole system is STOCK but no use bro, i'm checking the temp in bios, also i just putted my finger on heatsink now it's 25 also i applied CPU Coll n Quit but STILL i'm not able to overclock my PC over 2.6 it's not detecting sata then and fucking up my ram frequency -.- i tried to enable Ram Flexibilty but still i cant seem to make it higher and detect my sata again

  • Change your cpu to ram ratio to 5:6 when you overclock your cpu your ram goes up too... so make your ratio 5:6

and increase your vcore to 1,4v you should be able to get 3ghz+

    cheers mate

  • What type of case is it?

    i like that tempreture meter.

    Sorry for my bad english

  • I think its best for you to google for an overclocking guide so you can get a better grasp on fsb, memory timings and motherboard bios settings. Without seeing your system I would not be able to tell you what the issues are. However read up about what all your bios settings do before just changing things and hoping it works.

sorry I couldnt be more help

  • what case type do you have?

    that's my question

  • wut did all the stuff cost total?

  • 1440x900 believe me best settings ever :)

  • what voltage did you use?

  • E1500 How did u overclock it??

  • bios

  • lol i could play cod on 1650x1050 maxxed out on 30-50fps :D

  • would it run great if the GFX was an HD4550??

  • 4550 is quite low end for gaming, I am sure it would be able to play Call of Duty and other games on lower settings but would not be very good for more intensive games like crysis. You wil be much more satisfied by spending a little bit extra to get an ati 4670.

  • I like your case! where did you get it?

  • Ha! Just bought a used PC with:

iCute ATX case with side window and 4 fans 14cm 12cm and two 8cm.

An Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.6 GHZ processer with 4MB cache & Intel cooler.

An abit FATAL1TY FP-IN9 Nvidia 650SLI Socket 775 Intel motherboard.

    A Zotac NvidiaGeForce 9800GTX 512mb DDR3 Physics GFX Card.

    2 GB of 'A-Data' low latency 4-4-4-12 DDR2 6400 800mhz Ram.

A Hitachi Deskstar 250GB Hard Drive with XP installed.

LG 52* DVD/CD Writer with Nero.

    Labtec wirless Mouse.

  • did you use a generic psu to overclock?

  • Acbel 470w, its a rebaged cooler master 460w

  • Trying to get a similar PC for christmas.

    Budget - 300eur...

    Need: everything except monitor.

  • Hey i really like your video i have watched it many times ^_^ when is your new video gonna come out?

  • When my university exams are done :)

I built a new system yesterday. Intel E5300 overclocked to 3.5 GHZ with a passively cooled 8800gt. I did some filming of it and I will try to edit it soon. Thanks

  • Hey what do you think of:

    Celeron Dual Core E3200

    Asus P5NSLI

IceQ 4670 or Palit Green 9800GT?

  • The 8600gt is better then both of those.

You wont get any decent gaming performance unless you get a 4650 or better. the 4650 can be had for $55 here in Australia. If you are in the US you must be able to get it for less. I would suggest you spend just a little extra time saving up.

  • Two questions:

Would it be a good Idea to crossfire 2 ATI 4890s on this CPU

if yes, which mobo should I go with ?

  • ATI has just released its ATI 5870 graphics card. A single on of those performs close to 4890's in crossfire, while only consuming slightly more then a single 4890. Its also cheaper then two 4890's.

If you want a good crossfire motherboard it depends on the CPU you are using. Any i5/i7 motherboard would be fine. Fore Core2Duo's and Core2Quads

    get the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4 S775 P45,

  • what case do you have

  • Frontier SH09A-BK/SV

  • Also -

What GPU you looking at using because I am thinking that the PSU in your case probably wont have enough power to run anything higher then a 9600GT.

Watts arent important when considering the PSU, its the number of amps on the 12+ Volt rails. You can determine this by looking at the specs of the PSU. It should say how many Watts are dedicated to the 12+ V rail. You then divide this amount by 12.

26amps is a pretty good figure on the 12V rail. Enough for ATI 4850 or Nvidia GTS 250

  • Nah, not GTS 250 although I would love it :) I'm going to get 9600GT 512MB

  • Hi, I want to build my own budget gaming rig that would play Crysis on High. Do I need any more coolers if I want to overclock the E1500 over 2.8GHz?

    MOBO: Foxconn G31 39EUR

    CPU: E1500 41EUR

    RAM: 2GB - 23.50

    GPU: tba

    HDD: 32EUR - 160GB

    DVD: 19EUR

    PSU: INCLUDED in Case

    CASE: Best Value 24pin SATA 450W 23EUR

    TOTAL: 177.50

  • No need to have extra cooling on the CPU. The Intel E1500 will get to 2.9 Ghz (266Mhz FSB) on stock voltage. At 3.4 I think the Voltage was 1.45 and it did not exceed the thermal spec from Intel.

  • Unfortunately I cannot get the 9600GT.

Is the 8600GT good? Better than 9400GT?

  • The 8600gt is better then the nvidia 9400gt. However I wouldnt recommend the 8600gt...Get an ATI 4650 or 4670 if your budget is tight.

  • Hmmm. What about HD3650? My budget is really tight. Maybe HD4350 1GB DDR2?

  • hei man did had try to play prototype with E1500? i need to know if it run it

  • HOW MUCH WAS IT?

  • wow nice for a low end gaming setup really worth a try
