@psmoak1326 Umm..that is a lie...the average cost of a death penalty case is $1.6Million compared to $3.-$4Million LWOP cases. The death penalty case costs more at FIRST, because the cost of appeals and prison is combined, but it is LESS than the cost over a lifetime. Most death penalty cases and appeals are finished within 3 years. The state of Ohio alone, executes 5-7 prisoners a week.

@Elenkhos Money should not be a factor at all. Take away the good things in prison. No TV, no gyms, no smokes, nothing. Boring bland food, 23 hours in the cell, and make jail what it's supposed to be. A punishment. The death penalty isn't much of a punishment to the criminal. He won't feel anything after. But his family will. The death penalty is a poor deterrent to crime. Not to mention, if you kill one, just one innocent person, then what's to stop a second, then a third. DP is wrong.
