First of all: thanks for your comprehensive video's. Because of your good reviews on the Macbook Air, I finally decided to get one. I travel about 40m a day to college, and i'm tired of carrying a bulky bag with a 7lbs plastic laptop in it. At college, we don't use books anymore, only laptops, so the 2 hour battery life, shutdown/startup is quite a pain. I just want to charge it @ home and carry it around all day without having to charge it. Is the fresh air a good choice then? Thx in advance!

@inferno511 no probs mate, appreciated. Deffo wait for the next refresh (which is round the corner). It will be more powerful and will last you that extra wee bit. If you don't like the upcoming refresh, you can always buy the older one for a cheaper price or a refurb ;)

@Gunsteruzi yeah, apple headphones are rip offs man! if u want cheap headphones with decent sound quality u can go for sennheisers - huge and uncomfortable but the sound is great. the best headphones i've ever owned are the AKG by harman Q460 - endorsed by Quincy Jones - shit man these are half the price of the beats by dr dre but the quality is AMAZING- like apple, u get what u pay for, never ever consider beats by dr dre headphones as an option.. sound quality is REALLY shit for the price.

@Gunsteruzi oh I agree - best headphones ive used so far are the Sennheiser HD202 (which I picked up for less than $30)... on par with the Beats by Dre Solo HD's IMHO.

@nomalwarecocc wise decision. No point in getting the current one, you'll kick yourself once the refresh occurs. Its a bit of a catch 22 with the exchange rates and no VAT in the US. Hope it gets refreshed soon

Just so you know, asking Apple Store staff for insider information on stock of anything to do with their job can get them fired. They're even banned from commenting on rumour websites and so on. They can read them, but they can't comment. So... you'll need to be REALLY "mum" to report anything you get from an Apple retail employee, don't even mention where it came from even without a name! lol.

Why is everyone whining about the Back to School thing? Jesus christ people, grow up! The sense of entitlement is astounding! They don't have to do anything, and this offer gives you credit to buy any App, song or movie you want from the iTunes store and Mac/iOS App Stores. Use it to buy software that keeps you organised or helps you learn. You're already getting a damn student discount on the Mac itself, spend THAT on the iPod touch if you want it so badly.

I've just bought a iMac a few days ago. It's my first Mac, i made the switch from Windows after being a Windows user all my life. I got the 2011 27" high end model, i love it! Just getting used to Snow Leopard, i think i have pretty much got the hang of it now, so i shouldn't have any problems when upgrading to lion when it comes out!

@mattyjoyce1 doubt there will be any updates to the MBP till next year at the earliest. Apple will most probably get the macs refreshed by August - focus on the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 perhaps for a September/Oct launch... in time for the holiday season.

I got the coffee/tea mug from Apple HQ - well I didn't get it personally (I wish I did) - someone who I knew took a trip to Cupertino and picked it up for me alongside other Apple merchandise from the campus store. Wish they would sell it in maybe not all stores but bigger stores or 'iconic stores' i.e. covent garden etc.

@claudiastrauss I would return it, Apple will take it back (thats if you bought it from them). The new ones will be priced equally (or they have in the past). Who knows, they might even bring the prices down slightly. Prices aside, there will be other greater benefits i.e. performance, thunderbolt etc.

@theunit3 hey i think the reason that they made it so they give itunes cards away is with the release of lion. They want to push the Mac App Store for when the OS comes out. That's the only reason i can really think of.

@salesian101 go to the price list page for any mac, and somewhere under the buttons that show the price there will be a link that says "education discount" or something like that. Click on that and you will get 100 USD off most macs, 50 off the mac mini, macbook air, and starting imac, and 200 USD off any prebuilt computer over 2000 (and upgrades are cheaper as well)

@abby4u You have the right to use it, you DO NOT have the right however to record the performance, as it's not your performance. As sucky as that may be, that's the long and short of it. Most places have signs up saying you can't use cameras and so on, this is a technical solution to that problem.
