at 3:30 for example it sounds like he is using a slide but looking at his hand makes me think that he is grabbing something with his hand and moving it
ritchie is one of the greatest hard rock players ever before him no one not hendrix or clapton played live with an orchestra and match them note for note and players like malmsteen vai and gilnour 26 years later are only now catching up and lets not forget that with deep purple ritchie played with an orchestra way back 1969 it was the first time hard rock and classical music were brought together not the most succesfull attempt but after it the music world changed forever sir blackmore =legend
Like people listen to classical and say that its rubbish. Yes it may not sound to good. But to be honest, from my opinion, they are the greatest musicians of all time. Beethovens work is outstanding. Its these guys that shall have there name passed on for yet more generations.
Many people these days, especially the younger generation that listen to rock, will listen to something such as gun n roses and say that Slash is the greatest guitarist of all time. They dont seem to listen broaden there tastes and listen to stuff like Deep Purple and Zepplein. They dont seem cappable of istne to guitarsts and knowing what it is that makes a particular one special.
Best guitarist ever, he's genius, monumental, melodic, sound and perfection in Ritchie phenomenal!I'm a huge fan of Ritchie, many thanks for posting this valuable clip!
What the hell do you mean UNDERRATED lmao, deep purple, rainbow ! you know how well they did? plus all there other stuff, not to mention the still excellent, if very different, Blackmore nights, underrated my arse lol.
i just meant you'll always hear about jimmy page jimi hendrix vanhalen or even immitators like malmsteen (unfortunatley) before you hear about blackmore at least ive noticed that
hi. I am an old fan of Ritchie (consequently of deep purple, rainbow). I agree with kingoftheswing00 about rating of this guitarist. Some months ago I was the rating on best 100 guitarist of all time and he was at 54th !!!! Thats pretty shame for those who claim to know music and guitar. However the truth in my opinion is that he stand at least at first 5 on top least. Regards
Maybe one of the best moment of all the career of Ritchie Blackmore! What a fantastic improvisation before playing his Beethoven ninth. This is Ritchie, capable bad but not the best! Here is the best of the best!
more than good, more than epic, he's the god! whenever i watch ritchie performs, i get the goosebumps! he isn't 'one of the best'...he is THE BEST!!

¿someones knows what's that?
DoctorRobert66 1 year ago
@DoctorRobert66 It is a slide/bottle neck. That's the way he uses it - he holds like that instead of putting it on one of his fingers.
