Fox is not the problem, it is that people watch it and believe it as fact. It is the people of this country that watch Fox News as actual news. Fox News is like watching the "news" in a communist country because it is propaganda that continues to lie to the country to serve purpose. Fox News then becomes nothing more then an incestuous, in-bred mess of government, media, religion, politics, business, racism and classism... I doubt you're old enough to have been "owned" by anyone. Don't dwell on a past that's not yours and talk as if you knew what it was like. I'm a successful black man too and struggled to get where I am. You can complain all you want about being born at the wrong time and place, or you can deal. One thing for sure is that, statistically, you have 75-85 years on this journey. You should make the best of them. It's not easy, but it's getting easier. True Black men are doing it everyday.

Their causes weren't lost. Yours is. It's one thing to fight for freedom, equality and equity, it's another to decide that you want to make it easier on yourself by claiming a "cut" on the fruits of your ancestors' labor. Indeed there are still battles to be won for black people in America, but they have to be picked carefully. Otherwise we stay prisoners of the past. Bring the battle to a different front and we might fall in agreement, education, information, health, security, etc.

I know a number of progressives completely turned off by Wright's comments who now will not vote for Obama. And if liberals are pissed, certainly independents are. And independents will determine the election in November. Rather than make excuses for racist Rev. Wright, if you'd forcefully condemn him (and all racists, not just those on the right), much of this racial intolerance (the kind Wright preaches) would fade away. Blaming AIDS on the U.S. gov't and claiming the black community was specifically injected with AIDS was Wright's way of furthering racial hatred. By implication, and discussed in other Wright sermons, the gov't is in effect the "white power structure." Giving official recognition to Farakhan is another example. Then he advised his followers to avoid "middleclassness" as it was a tool by whites to control blacks, yet Wright is currently building a $10 million home. He's a complete hypocrite.
