Thank you so much.... my dad used to play this on the piano for me, i cant listen to it enough. he passed away 12 years ago, but this makes him alive again, i cant thank you enough
one of the best performance ever heard of this piece, on Robert Crumbs documentary this piece is played several times on slower versions but this one is great. congrats
good job.. but this isn't saloon music my friend. look up "ole miss blues, james. p. johnson" and watch the piano roll.. this is more along the lines of what you would have heard in them saloons back then.
Totally excellent!! Was looking for the version by Beaver & Krause from the "All Good Men" album, which I have on vinyl, and found your video. Their version includes singing and additional instruments. Your performance is superb!! I will add it to my favorites!!
excellent rendition! thank you - we're doing two lots of Treemonisha music in our tonight's concert - this really puts me in the mood! great playing....
I am living in France therefore this concert (as well as the first one of those) were offered here... :) I've always been in choirs wherever I lived at the time and it's always very enriching and absolutely fabulous. But normally we sing sacred music and this made a welcome and highly amusing change!
I'm very happy to hear this wonderful tune on YouTube, where someone plays it on real piano, additionaly saying, he is in Brasil where I had lived ever... ;-) Of courese, 5-stars!

Ach. Did you happen to notice the title of the song? A real slow drag... So, um, you're playing it kind of fast, see? Otherwise, fine.

Thank you. At last someone who actually knows how to play A Real Slow Drag!!! That is probably Joplin's most difficult rag to to play on piano.

Very nice. There are three ragtime pieces in Treemonisa, and this is one of them.
Joplin is supposed to have written another opera, but it seems to be lost.
