Magneto is a revolutionary and fight against the government. Darth Vader is a soldier and fight for the government. Other that their anger management issue, there is not much similarity because their goal are very different.

@anAntagonist [ if he could he would kill every human ] this is wrong, he has never attack human when he had the chance, the only time he kills is when other are trying to kill them. as for vader, don't forgot who he was, he submit himself to the jedi and then emperor and except other to submit to the order he serves, that is very much what soldier does. of course vader would like to rule, but his entire life is about following orders whether he like it or not, he almost kill his own son for it.

@akinkhoo Anakin was a child who dreamed about being a hero, save all the slaves, but the Jedi Order, just like Xavier, has a short-sighted, biased view of the world. Anakin got tangled up in that confusion, and that's why he went to the Dark Side. Magneto is not confused. He's entirely aware of the world and people around him, and he refused to follow Xavier's philosophy blindly. Magneto would be a Dark Messiah, while Anakin was forced to carry a responsibility and forfeit his dream.
