  • Holy..So ingnorant how can they pressing the dislike button like this? otherwise for stupid racism of some japanese? really pathetic

  • How can people dislike this!?! Classical music will be around until the end of the human race! :)

  • 148,000? really? I know, I know people have different tastes in music, but you can appreciate something without liking it! This is amazing!

  • From 8.01 to the end ,well this makes me cry, so much emotion. I never get tired of seeing and hearing Sarah Chang play.

  • omg her FAT FAT FAT VIBRATO LOVING IT

  • @andreasamati 4:35 how's that for bow distribution. eh?

  • I saw Sarah play this at the Royal Festival Hall ,Southbank Centre , London last week. Such an unbelievable performance which it would be hard to equal by anyone. She is truly the Goddess of the Violin.

  • Nobody plays this better than Sarah Chang !!

  • I fell into my emotional lake hearing the music.

  • I am such a big fan of Sarah Chang, but as I progress in my own I notice that sometimes her bowing can be a bit scratchy!? I think it comes in her approach to very tight and impassioned playing (which is the best bit of her performances) but think that often in performances by vengerov there is less of the abrasive tone that sometimes happens here... but then Sarah's performances are always soo expressive!!! she is amazing

  • Man! They really can feel the music. This is a beautiful performance. Bravo!

  • She could play Mary had a little lamb and I'd be enthralled.

  • Love it!!!

  • sarah chang sure does kno how to play lolz

  • where is the next part please? I cant read a god damn Japanese. And I want to go to bed before finish it.

  • asiane madar qahbe

  • Sarah Chang is sublime and the world's greatest violinist but this orchestra is superb and the conductor magnificent in this concerto. The way he controls the base line in the full orchestral parts is masterly, but as is so often thecase with these videos we are not told his name or the orchestra although I think it's the Japanese Symphony Orchestra. Does anyone know the name of this conductor?

  • worthless 27 haters.

  • Does Sarah hit the floor with her shoe at 2:20?

  • This orchestra has very beautiful sound

  • I like 5:45 so much when Sarah Chang joins and plays ritornello with the orchestra...

    Amazing soloist and amazing orchestra.

  • @nysound the others are not like her !!

    that good ! ! :D I love her

  • @honkeydonkeyponkey You Mr. Ponkey have lost all credibility by comparing Sarah Chang to Heifetz. He was much appreciated in his time (and still is). Don't compare this poor excuse of a violinist to Heifetz and STFU.

  • @honkeydonkeyponkey She's not a very good violinist. That's a fact. Just because you get a little tingle below the belt when you see her videos does not mean she's a great violinist. What are your qualifications?

  • it was cool to see her play the tutti.

  • lol @ her shoulder rest. noob.

    jk haha

  • What is the name of this piece, in English, please? Thanks

  • @purplemailbox it's Max Bruch - Concerto in g minor for violin and orchestra

  • Thanks for the video but please, may you write something in English too if you can?

  • Wow! I wached this here live, NHK hall.

Thanks uploading! She was stunning ever.Goddess!

  • It sends chills down the spine

  • I love this concert, it´s fantastic!!

    Sarah Chang is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

    ;D

  • what piece is this?

  • Max Bruch violin concerto

  • To quote the James Bond Film !!!

    Nobody Does It Better !!

  • @lovemetu That quote wouldn't apply to this crappy performance.

  • @andreasamati

You would appear to be in a minority with your opinion of this performance by the Virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang .Perhaps you are a Master Violinist yourself who can do better,in which case perhaps we can see some of your own performances on youtube in the near future ?

  • @lovemetu Actually my opinion is the majority amongst the *elite* string players/musicians who play in big 5 U.S. orchestras, teach at institutions, and perform with orchestras. Chang is a product of the DeLay PR machine, and really a very elementary violinist. It is not a matter of opinion, but fact, that Sarah Chang plays very out of tune and has no idea how to distribute or divide the bow.

  • @andreasamati

Yes heard that argument before, you have a clone in the US,a lover of Heifetz.

Well leaving that one ,my friend who plays the piano in concerts in uk tells me that there are many experts and critics on youtube !!

You speak as a person of such unbounded knowledge on the subject of playing the violin that you are obviously one of these so called *elite* string players/musicians from the US you speak of ,so once again Maestro, let us see you perform then, come on dont be shy !!

  • Absolutely love when she plays the tutti part.

  • What a fantastic performance by Sarah Chang and the orchestra....

    Just breathtaking...

    Is it NHK Symph Orchestra???

  • Wonderful, just wonderful!

  • to Juakprod.

Bravissima Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is this song called ?

  • Bruch Violin Concerto 1st movement

  • Her tone is so silky and luscious! Such a great musical journey she takes us on!

  • Ms. Chang is most definitely one of my most favorite violinists, if not my number one.

  • she makes it look so effortless

  • lol 2:20

poor guy at least he wasn't near her

  • @IlEtaitUneForet Near! He's 4 yards behind her

  • @Welther47 lol wtf... it was just funny because of the angle.. calm down

  • The 2nd and 3rd movements were posted on youtube before but I tink they were removed due to copyright infringement.. One of the best Bruch I've seen/heard! Especailly when she plays the tutti with the orchestra. So Autumnsnakearchive, if possible, post the 2nd and 3rd movements again! Many thanks. Kudos for posting this.

  • I want to see one of her concerts in person. :( She plays so beautifully....

  • I haved the oportunity to listen the mendelssohn violin concerto in person, and it was amazing, incredible. I hope that you will see her too very soon :)

  • Of course, opinions are just a matter of taste. I'm sure some would disagree : )

  • So wonderful!!! Sarah Chang and Haendel are truly the best woman violinist living in my humble opinion and just as good as any famous male master. This is extraordinairy and a miracle!!! I too consider her and Haendel as godess of violin! When I listen to others of about the same age and generation (except Repin of course who is a god in its own right) it confirms even more my impression about her greatness and I always come back to her sound. BRAVO TO HER!!!

  • she seems a lil annoyed with that microphone...i think i here a slight reverb. sometimes

  • amazing. thats all i can say

  • The Goddess of the violin- one and only Sarah Chang.

I hope to be as good as her someday.

  • I love u Sarah Chang!!! u are just amazing!!!!!!!!

  • The fact she plays the tutti part is very interesting to me in a good way. Perhaps other soloists should consider that as well!

  • yea.. i agree with that ;)

  • splendid.

  • This is a very impressive rendition, I saw her live performing the Mendelssohn and I found it slighhtly dissapointing however this is a much better reflection of her abllity to play the violin.

  • how did you find her performance disappointing?

  • what is the title of this song again?

  • it's the Bruch Concerto in g minor

  • thx .love it so much

  • whew is the 2nd and 3rd movement???

  • Its actually the first movement.

  • she is getting better , better . better and better abd better abd betterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

  • She is amazing! I love how powerful this piece is and i just love how she performs! Such a wonderful performance!

  • This is what I think not your thoughts, I think that this concerto is soooo beautiful and so fun to play, for me i played this before, but I think that all the three movements in this piece have nothing in comment together, it all sound soo different from each other, the first one is more of a slow and soft sounding, and the second is realllllllly soft and slow, and the third one is really fast with all of doubles stop.

  • Woah! I saw her play this with the Austin Symphony early last month! She was wearing the same dress too!

  • Unlike pop-world/ glamour world, classical music world is all about your talent and then what you wear ( too some extent).....so doesnt really matter if she wore it again and again unlike the other pop-stars where its a bblaspheme to repeat dresses....so unreal world Id say...

  • Well, yeah I know. I've seen her wear the same dresses while performing different pieces on youtube before. I just thought it was cool that she wore that same dress for that same concerto when I saw her.

  • It looks like child's play for her. What i like here is: she joined into the orchestral part on her own & i like the spirit there.

  • @meiangie in fact, she played this when she was 6!

  • I love this movement too but love the third movement better.

  • Awesome

  • Max Bruch Violin concerto :D

  • wonderful music.

i have one question regarding the name.

bruch is spelled buruffu, but shouldn't it be

ブルッハ, buruhha like in バッハ, bahha for bach?

just wondering, i'm teaching myself japanese right now.

  • This soooooo good!!

  • whats the name of this peace? i cant read it

its just great and sarah chang is one of my favorite violinists

  • ouh ok its bruchs violin concerto right? Mvt 1

  • yes

  • Comment removed

  • Why do people think they can critique these professionals? Her bow isn't straight because she moved into the zone closest to the finger board for dynamics and rotated her bow for style.

  • please, if even of you. have the movements too. please pose it up. i want to see the last movement. its my favorite one of the three. the last one have so many double strings. i like it.

  • I love 3rd MVT, too

  • wtf is your problem, i didn't say anything bad about her. all i said that, she was not suppose to play the tutti part. go watch other ppl play it. they didn't play the tutti. and the background orchestra are good enough. wtf

  • Like at 5:50 its the tutti for the orchestra, and she's playing with them, in the music sheet its not a solo part. i played this piece before, its really weird how she played the tutti too.

  • She played the tutti part because it's a very intense moment in the piece. And if she's the only one just standing there it would look even weirder.

  • Why did she play with the tutti with the orchestra thats really wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • I will never understand why the people come to youtube to criticize the best interpreters. For me Sarah Chang is the best. Brava!!!

  • did they add something to this song. its sounds weird now.

  • her violins looks wider and broader compared to other strads and del gesu's.

  • Great moment 5:01

  • even better at 4:36

  • the hall is a very echoing one..

  • there are 4 cadenzas in the bruch violin concertos if i am not mistaken. solo violin parts

  • Haha why is she playing with the orchestra during the "tutti" (?) just before the last 2 cadenzas?

  • are there any cadenzas in Bruch.????? i dont see any. Im learning it and the score doesnt tell!!

  • There aren't any, but it's still a mighty fun piece to play. Your profile says that you're 28, so I'm assuming you want to wow your significant other with a snazzy cadenza? I think Mendelssohn or Wieniawski No. 2 shouldn't be too much of a stretch if you're able to handle Bruch, and both have cadenzas.

  • im just 16. i accidently put a wrong birth year. so for youtube im 28!!!!

  • Wieniawski doesnt have any cadenzas. The first concerto does, but not the second.

  • The start of the 3rd movement is a mini-cadenza.

  • there are

  • Thanks for the video, but could someone tell me the name of the piece?

  • its Bruch violin concerto no1 Op.36 in G minor...the first movement...

  • Thanks =)

  • Wonderful video! It was taken down last week, but now it's back up! Could you upload parts 2 and 3 please?!??!!

    THANK YOU!
