What's with all the antisemitic opinions being expressed here? This is a video about Bobby Fischer, not Hitler. Are we forgetting, that Bobby himself was of Jewish descent? Bobby Fischer was much more of a "Mike Tyson" of chess than a "Muhammad Ali" as described in the intro of the documentary.

Completely unstoppable during his few years of prime, but dropped off a cliff due to outside reasons. And ended up with a two-sided legacy of invincibility vs. tragedy of the individual.

I can't answer the question of whether Fischer was a better chess player than Kasparov. I do know that if Fischer was the Tyson of chess, Kasparov was the Ali.

Fischer was certainly an interesting character, but a rather tragic figure. I can see why so many admire his phenomenal chess talent, but outside of chess Fischer was hardly one to admire. He had no other abilities aside from chess, and appeared to be a mentally disturbed fellow.

I am a massive Bobby fan and have been since he burst onto the world in general in 1972. Without a doubt though poor Bobby suffered from Asbergers Sydrome.

He has almost every trait that the problem causes. Photographic memory, hobby obsession, outspokeness, he even walks like a typical AS person. The man is my all time hero though and would have destroyed Kasparov if both in their prime.

If he'd had adults in his life who had made sure he had a more well-rounded, well-adjusted life, he might not have become so eccentric in his behavior and may not have gone off on tangents later.
