My first (and if Oblivion n Morrowind are precendent, only) run is going to be pacifist. If any modders want to make pascifist weapons and post them on the Skyrim nexus, I would be very much abliged. nunchuks, bokkens, bowstaves, unbarbed tranq blowgun/smoke bombs, sand gloves, shield bash, kicking, advanced hand to hand, akiedo/acupuncture, you know, anything that is intended as a non leathal defence. I don't want to use magic but alchemy and magic for mind tricks are cool.

Too bad some quest become unplayable because of this, especially the Daedric quests (which all involves killing inocent people as far as I know). What about causing spells that make enemies kill each other, does that also count as a kill for you? If not, more quests are available for you.
Dual-Casting should let you cast on 2.2 times as high level npcs (though for 2.8 times the magicka cost, but otherwise you're casting two 1x strength spells). Also, level up enchanting to 100 and with Grand soul gems you can make a set of clothes that will take the casting cost of the chosen school to 0. (4 items with 25% each.) The perk at 100 Illusion should let you calm undead as well, right? If you wanted to be a true pacifist you could Calm Alduin and just hang out

Couple ideas from my evening as Gandhius Maximus the Imperial:
Leveling up a nice handful if levels isn't hard, especially with Illusion; Farengar in Whiterun has Courage, pick that up and run around town casting it on guards or anyone you see - that got me close to 50 Illusion before it got dark ingame. I was able to get 4-5 perks in Illusion, should make for a nicely buffed Calm. (Farengar has that too.) Illusion's Dual-Casting perk should
@Guggerbunk Perhaps you can slap it out of him with a shield when you are above level 50?
Don't know if that will work though.
I think the only thing to do is having a companion with you, until you are in the room where this guy is. Than remove the companion from your list right before the undead will attack you. If the previous companion likes you, he will protect you. Than you can cast healing spells on him over and over again. Make sure you can provide silent casting.
For the MQ I can think of Mirmulnir, Sahloknir, Nahkriin, and Alduin that would need to be killed to complete it. Depends on how the companion or 'wildlife assist' kills are flagged on if they count in the log. Nahkriin seems the hardest since you can't bring helpers to Skuldafn IIRC.

@husy151 Wrong. It's entirely possible to escape the tutorial without killing anyone, and the followers adding to your kill count is erratic, as said early in the video.
It does take considerable skill to play this way though, much like playing through Halo as a pacifist.
So I'm not the only one that makes a little "HUP!" noise when I try a tricky jump in a videogame. This is impressive. I don't think I'd have the patience for this though.

This is also a way how I play Skyrim. I have many characters... one of which is a Speech only character with Restoration. Though, I hire mercenaries with my money that I gain from being a merchant to protect me.

Too much complicated, rather get some bad ass weapons and armor+destruction spells and beat the living crap in them :))) but i kill most of the time 'bad' guys and dragons :) but if we look carefully, entire city of skyrim is in war :)))

@WestSideLuigi I'm trying this, and i was wondering, would it be OK to dispatch the occasional Drougr? Y'know, to put them out of their 1000 Year misery? Also, if you use a frenzy spell on someone, and they kill someone, does it count as YOU killing them?
youve inspired me, i might give this a shot myself, you could fear people into traps, or use fury to make them fight amoungst themselves, or even use telekinesis to activate traps that they might be standing under, like those oil casks. :)

I may have to give it a go - I'm currently playing through as the most evil character I can possibly be - I always run multiple characters just because it's fun - and it would be good for my karma to try the peaceful route. Did you ever get trapped in a room with an enemy who wants to kill you, and the key only shows up when that enemy is dead?
well he won't be able to finish 70% of the major quest line, can't kill alduin, can't kill mercer frey, can't kill morokei for staff of magnus, can't kill, well should I even bother mentioning the dark brotherhood quest line? oh and he also can't kill the wolf spirit in the companion quests
I am the exact opposite in this game. I run around with a Heavy Armor maxed out and a Daedric Shield, and either a crazy soul stealing death mase or Dragonsbane and killing everything in my sight. Only the children are alive after I've gone though a town

Nahkiir's staff can't be filched because pickpocket doesn't work on the undead. Disarming wouldn't work either because Nahkiir is level 50.

youve inspired me, i might give this a shot myself, you could fear people into traps, or use fury to make them fight amoungst themselves, or even use telekinesis to activate traps that they might be standing under, like those oil casks. :)

thanks for this - I love how you've really challenged yourself with this. I may have to give it a go - I'm currently playing through as the most evil character I can possibly be - I always run multiple characters just because it's fun - and it would be good for my karma to try the peaceful route. Although - how on earth will you get dragon souls to unlock your shouts?

Also, I'm awed - my character doesn't like to kill people either, but there were several places where I just wasn't able to summon the patience to not kill anyone...
Did you ever get trapped in a room with an enemy who wants to kill you, and the key only shows up when that enemy is dead?

well he won't be able to finish 70% of the major quest line, can't kill alduin, can't kill mercer frey, can't kill morokei for staff of magnus, can't kill, well should I even bother mentioning the dark brotherhood quest line? oh and he also can't kill the wolf spirit in the companion quests

I am the exact opposite in this game. I run around with a Heavy Armor maxed out and a Daedric Shield, and either a crazy soul stealing death mase or Dragonsbane and killing everything in my sight. Only the children are alive after I've gone though a town
