well done. I saw the Bloke on Today channel nine this morning too. seemed like an amazing person and is now using this to raise money for Princess Margret Hospital. Good on you, a true Aussie
there r tons of houses all over the world that do this so no one copied anyone its just something people do if they hav the time money and equipment 4 it
I'm a complete programmed Christmas Light junkie, and in my opinion, few to none of the videos ever measured up to the origonal (Martin Lindsay, I believe?) design to Wizards In Winter. Either they were lame, or copycats. Yours, however, is quite good, and rather original! I'm not a fan of the color scheme, the orange cones are creative, but I don't like them...the blue and white icicles look so similar it's hard to tell them apart...I'd have liked to see more color, but job well done!!!
Carson Williams was the original. However I have to agree the Lindsay Lights take is awesome. I also think this one is great too, especially with 'plug pack adapters' that come with most Australian lights. These little things make synchronising more complicated (some don't like rapid on/off switching, some don't work well with fading/dimming). Would say its the best display from Perth I've seen. I run a display in Adelaide.
Oh that is awesome! I live in Sacramento, California, United States. Last Christmas was the first time I ever saw Christmas lights in sync with music like that, when my sister took me and her girls to see Christmas lights (Just moved back from Arkansas last August), and I was so fascinated. I think that was the same music I heard too. Oh, I hope I make it out there next year!
Yes "tis truly amazing!Glad I dont live next door,my dog carries on when I just turn the back porch light on..this would just send him over thedge, lol!
I think carbon offsetting something like this would be a really good idea. The charity thing would still work and it sends out an important message about energy use as well. If it really only costs $95 extra then the cost will be minimal, but the message will be strong.
wow. imagine hving totkae down THESE christmas lights? lol not only would it take time. but if i was the owner of thishouse. id be so sad lol. because they probably put so much effort into it. i mean they didnt just do this in an afternoon, right?!
Pretty much tries to duplicate the original, which is good for a first try and something to improve on. I definitely like the traffic cones. I saw the newscast about it. He must live in a ritzy area if he expects everyone else on the street to do it too.
Near the end is the part where EMT comes and picks up the small children laid out on the lawn from the light induced seisures with a huge smile on their faces. Like me. I was like. @_@!!!! Near the end.
Yes. In Australia, when people go away for holidays the surrounding neighbours dress the vacant house in lights and remove them before they get back ... just 4 a laugh.
we're from brisbane and we were just at a xmas get together and sum1 told us about it and so i raced home and searched it up and this is AMAZING! never seen anything like it.
Give the gift of too much spare time and massive power bills this Christmas! Your neighbours will love your fun light displays...especially the ones with epileptic children!
fukn mint man, i remember when our house was light up like that b4 my parents split.. we had atleast 5 full days of work, atleast $1000 in lights close to 3000 light bulbs. Just makes kids so happy which is worth it all good luck with getting the 10k. Amazing lights \o/
I live in perth, and have been to see these! Just want to say they are F***ing Awsome!!! They have it in a repeat, with the song playing out softly into the street so people standing infront of house can hear. It seams to be a joint effort with the neighbours houses lit up brightly with there lights and decos
people build a bridge and get over it,who really cares about Carson Williams of OHIO, or carbon footprints, and green house issues, this is Xmas time, and this bloke has done a bloody brilliant job of putting this spectacular show together, Ive watch the American version and this one rocks harder and is much better, you-tube isnt the forum for expressing heavy world issues.
The world was warmer, greener and healthier when it was hotter and had more C02. I might be wrong but animals and plants grew to incredible proportions because of the higher co2 levels. Still if you want to keep your small minds happy then best keep co2 levels low.
A single sting of tree lights left on 8 hours for 12 days generates enough CO2 gas to fill 12 party balloons...this is Christmas madness! The best present this guy should give his kids are carbon credits.
WOW! this is soo cool.Whoever thought of it was really a G-E-N-I-U-S!!! If i hada million dollars id give it to you for ur charity. but im just a teenager ahah. This is seriuosly INTENSE!! i love it!
It's great, but its almost an exact copy of Carson Williams' house in Ohio, USA which was done a few years ago (see the vid here on you tube by typing 'christmas lights gone wild' into search bar) even the music is the same. Glad some charities are benefitting tho...

great work.
everyone that is complaining about it using electricity.... take this into account.
The majority of those lights would be LED's, not incandescent globes.
The average computer runs between 500-1000watts, including screen.
LED's use something like 0.1W per bulb.
10,000 lights = 1 computer.
plus, he doesnt have them all on at once.
(let's take out of account the computer he is using to run the setup, haha).
