  • @ KellysGrrl Ouch !! lol

  • Or rather, Jennifer Kimball?

  • Call me crazy, but is that Alain Mallet w/her?

  • Did the first chord of this song remind anyone else of "Uninvited" by Alanis Morissette?

  • i almost fell asleep

  • suicide survivors unite in this song. i miss my Claudia desperately.

  • Wow! Someone really broke this lady's heart and you can hear it in the words (You were the 1 sure thing but now I see what you've become) and the guitar is painfully haunting, weeping in the melody. There are remnants of Delores O'riordan and Sheryl Crow in her voice, Wendy Melvoin in her guitar and Jill Sobule in her mastery songwriting skills as this is a piece that gets stuck in your head and you can't deny how it hits you. It's the voices that you DON"T hear that matter most in music. Epic.

  • @FozzieBeth Ingrid Graudins

  • Awful audio. Why post stuff that repels?

  • She was a trained dancer (ballet) before her singing career. I believe it was Milos Forman who discovered her, but I'm not sure.

  • damn.. first time hearing of her, so so looking girl but shes got a nice voice ill have to check more..

  • agree,,,the audience is not even asleep,,,they are dead!!! Love this song for years...

  • Utterly stunning talent.

  • this song is painfully beautiful

  • wow!

  • Had the biggest crush on her for years.

  • she's amazing

  • Judging by the applause at the end I think that audience had NO CLUE what just hit them!...

    Greatness!!!

  • I always come back to this...Jonatha, you are wonderful and you touch my soul. When the darkness washes over me, I find solace in your gift.

  • I wish i could have this version on my ipod, this is just amazing, originally heard this on buffy as a kid, carried this song around for ages loving it,one day look it up on youtube to find this, and now what i never thought possible, i like it that much more.

  • Jonatha just played at Squam (where she was teaching a songwriting workshop). She is so so talented. As for the tunings, she said she uses things like 1/2 capos and special tunings because she was self taught.

  • I first heard of Jonatha when she was in The Story and I found it so hard to reproduce her guitar chords when playing along. Then someone told me she has her own tunings, and not the usual drop-d, or open G, either. Has she ever talked about her guitar tunings?

  • She shares a lot of her tunings on her website. Go to her website and click on Music and then click on odds and ends.

  • this song is in CGDGBD capo 2.

  • She's so incredibly talented... plays the piano, the guitar and sings so beautifully. The lady singing with her has a wonderful voice also.

  • Jonatha has always been known for her unique guitar tunings. Its one of the reasons its so hard to reproduce her 'sound.' Has she ever talked about her guitar tunings? Her work with The Story is desert island stuff- straight up!

    yeah, I'm a fan

  • who is that big person dancing?

  • I think it's Ingrid Grouden? She's singing the backing vocal (or whatever you call it) as well :)

  • This song just rips my heart out every time I hear it. Like no other song can. Beautiful and heartfelt, those chords, that melody, the lyrics... all pointed right at your heart. What a true artist! Love you, Jonatha!

  • gives me goosebumps. beautiful.

  • This song has always been one of my favorites of hers from Plumb. Hearing this version captures the same spirit and emotion but even more pure because this is how she wrote it with just guitar. Jonatha is something else - wonderful harmonies too. I've also had the joy of speaking with her as some of the others here and she is the real deal. Right on Jonatha.

    Peace, Teddy

  • Buffy Nostalgia

  • ps prozak....have u had ur eyes checked lately? or ur ears either? haha ;)

  • ñ entendi nada

  • I can't stop listening to this, she's marvellous. Love it !

  • lmao

i met her b4 she was famous, we talked, i adore her

  • gosh this song is soooooooo awesome!!!! this version is way better than the one with the piano!

  • oops....Jonatha!

  • I Love Johnatha and have met her twice!

    She is AWESOME!

  • God I love this woman's voice....

  • Wow, wow, wow... In this stripped-down cable access gig, she just shines. They both do.

What she's doing technically--dynamics, coloration, and more--along with the emotional content is so difficult. She makes it look effortless. She's one of the greatest ever. Plus she writes and beautifully plays these amazing songs...

    *sigh*

TJMatty-- Is there a DVD release of the Sonic Sessions available anywhere? I'd love to have all the songs she did, but this one... definitely.

    Thanks for posting!

  • woah. this is spectacular.

  • Ah, I love this song.

It reminds me so much of buffy.

    Prophecy Girl was the best!!!

    Gotta love season one. =)

  • can anyone tab this song please?

  • its okay, kida hard to hear

  • This is one of my favorites from her -- nice.

  • awesome...i liked a ot of her story stuff

  • Ah, with the AMAZING Ingrid Graudins on accompanying vocals. Ingrid and Jonatha sang the most gorgeous harmonies I have EVER heard. Ann-Marie Milazzo was amazing too. Jonatha's crew is the cream of the crop. Goffrey Moore is a guitar GAWD.

  • Jonatha, you are descended from the heavens and we are all grateful for your visit!!!!

  • She's incredible. Do you have any live footage of her song West point?

  • beautiful song, beautilful voice. love it. always reminds me of buffy:)

  • That's right, it was featured on the episode, "Prophecy Girl" from Buffy's first season.

  • @TJMatty haha, funny :P I never thought someone els would recognize this song from buffy

  • It was my pleasure.

  • Thank you for posting! I love this album, she has such a wonderful clarity to her voice...beautiful song. I've never seen her live, so I appreciate this.
