I can relate to that, though I would never find the words to describe it as well as you did. It's a shame that you usually forget about all the "revelations" from the trip, they just slip away, further and further as you become more sober. @decimuscarrerus take part in some meditation and you will change your mind about the reliability of the mind. The main problem is our ego, if we slowly dissolve it through meditation and certain substances (Salvia Divinorum gives you a good idea what it is like to have no ego.) You will reveal the true inner essense, what some people call a "soul", the ego is a false reflection of your emotions based on sensory perception, if you remove it you get a taste of Omniscience.

All this did was make me drop to my knees and thank god, that it was not real, and that I was alive. This is a drug, and all it offers are hallucinations... not the truth.

I think this is because we are retracting from the physical layer and seeing this layer as a flat surface. This is how it is for me at least. Physical reality on Salvinorin-A seems like a wall that we merge with. We thought that we could glorify this wall of God, but alas we are only sinners.
