@thesissou123 Lol...it's called a Surform Rasp and you should be able to get one at any hardware store or home supply store(Menards, Lowes, Home Depot...etc.)
I finally found someplace to buy XPS (Extruded PolyStyrene) Foam in Southern Cali. It took me forever and it isn't the Owen's Pink Foam. I had to get the Blue Dow 25 PSI "Styrofoam". It is QUITE expensive here. Paying almost $30 for a 4'x8' 1" thick slab. The 2" was $50. A bit pricey but if it lets me build like this, it will be worth it to me.
hey i use a wire wheel and a drill it makes quick work but more a mess then i use tools to make my rock formations but to each its own do you run dcc on your trains
Is there eayway that i can download all your tips on modle railroad lay outs dierect from you . i am a totale beginner in modle railroads and you are the only person that i have found that makes everything so clear and easy to under stand ? your hopfully raymond
thanks for posting, i just started with the foam today, made a couple experimental hills. I got a quick question, whats that yellow brush type thing you're using? im assuming you can buy one at a hardware store?
Hmmm...are you talking about not using any plywood underneath the foam? I thought there was an article in Model Railroader that talked about somebody just using the 2 inch foam without any plywood. I can't remember which issue it was though. I suppose you could do it but I prefer to have good support underneath the foam.
Hi, Please, where did you buy this rape ? the name of that rape is particular ?
Thanks

No I've never used. You'd probably need to put up om kind of barriers to keep the foam from going all over the place.

How do you lay track on foam and what kind of benchwork did you use? By the way nice vid.
olsotrav2013 3 years ago
I didn't lay any of the track on the foam. I have 3/4 inch plywood underneath it.

how much did you layout cost? (just guess)
thetreeregimovies 4 years ago
I've been working on it for the past 5 years or so. I'd guess in the neighborhood of 3,000 - 4,000 thousand.
