If I see a beautiful man walking the street, I will feel attracted to him, but I won't indulge in sexual release with him no matter how much I want it; because as any other should, I hold back. @CandyFloss162010 First, thank you for the dialog. I think there is a happy medium. Women excessively covering up lowers our expectations of men being responsible for their own behavior. A morally strong married man, for example, would never even want to pursue a beautiful woman he happened to see. We should encourage that kind of strength in men. I do think both sexes should keep modesty in mind in their dress.

A morally strong married man, for example, would never even want to pursue a beautiful woman he happened to see. We should encourage that kind of strength in men. I do think both sexes should keep modesty in mind in their dress.

We have a choice as to whether or not we cover but those that are obedient do. Not all the men in the world are morally strong(married) men though are they ? Probably the most important reason why females should dress modestly is because all throughout history women have been routinely objectified and sexualized. Women are often valued for their beauty and their appearance and not for who they really are inside. If a woman covers her outer beauty, her true character and inner beauty can shine through. Modesty is truly the ultimate form of feminism.

It's interesting, it's very clear in the Bible New Testament that women should wear a headcovering, but in Christianity in this time, only some of the Mennonites and most of the Amish do, and Hutterites, and sometimes a few other Christian women but not many.
I think it's very honorable the way many Islam women dress being more covered, but I can understand how some people would think it unnecessary or ridiculous. I'm glad they are courageous to do what they believe in.

Surah 24:18 says; "women have to wear modesty",

As muslims we should follow the Quran & the methodology of the Prophet (PBUH). So the quran tells women to cover modestly, how is this implemented? @lundgrund Islam requires both MEN and WOMEN to dress modestly and dignified; and it mentions in Qur'an about a woman covering so she would be recognized as a muslim woman and not annoyed. Plus, Hadith(ha-de-th)which is a reliably transmitted report of what the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, did, or approved instructs us, in more specific terms, how to perform our prayers, fast, give charity,etc., and also what parts of the body men and women must cover.

I told U the Quran tells us to pray, that is why we pray, also from the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) we are supposed to pray. The Quran & the Prophet's teachings NEVER contradict each other.

@lundgrund You're CLEARLY wasting your time if you are trying to prove muslims should not pray or cover up, because the Quran does not specifically say how to, without taking into consideration the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Because not even a basic knowledged Muslim would listen to you.
If the Bible makes it compulsory on women to cover their faces, how come Christian women today don't? Plus, if the Bible calls to it, why is it so strange to Christians that Muslim women do it?

Seriously dude, I agree with him, your not addressing the argument here. You're twisting it to fit the answer you're trying to put forward. The Qu'ran is the words of Muhammad, he had the book edited, and re-written to correspond with what he said was correct. He's asking you, if the Qu'ran is true, and the Qu'ran is the word of Muhammad, and as such the word of Allah, then find a quote from the Qu'ran that says that women must wear Hijab, Jijab, Burqa ect.ect. Nothing else.

veil- a thing that conceals, disguises, or obscures something
ornament- thing used to adorn something but usually having no practical purpose, esp. a small object such as a figurine.
It's saying for women to conceal their chests, and jewelry, last time I checked the head has never been referred to as a bosom.
