Headin' down to The Sky and the Ground in Wexford Town for a pint of the Black Stuff now.........Pierce is a pure genius..............amazing live performer............Pierce if ya ever get to read this, Thanks for inspiring me, you're a true gent..............X
Pierce Turner is truly one of a kind. In early 80's I've heard his record on the polish radio. Not only that. I managed to record it on my tape recorder. I used to record also artist name and titles of lp and all songs. I did it but the quality was so poor that I was unable to spell the name correctly. I was looking for this man. Keith Turner, Chris Turner. In 1998 I found out his proper name
Not all of his songs speak to me like but he is realy an example of unrecognized talent.

My last week as Music Director at WTCS in Fairmont, WV I added two songs. One went on to sell a million copies. The other was "Wicklow Hills" by Pierce Turner. Been a fan of his ever since...
heard a song of his, was blown away. got his best of. would listen to the song i got it for and maybe one more, occasionaly. found myself being constantly drawn back to it. because he's not hyped, or even acknowledged, by the media, i guess i didn't expect much. when i actually bothered to listen to the whole thing through, i realised that ireland has produced a pop genius; one it does not deserve. this is the only man i have come across that can make the mundane seem glorious. a rare talent.
I met him many years ago, writing an article for my college newspaper. Excellent poet, I wish he made more music, but the stuff that he did make will have people listening for a thousand years.
Thanks for posting! Only found Pierce's music after he stopped making videos, so hadn't seen this one before. I remember reading in some sleeve notes that the breakfast special crowd are drug addicts, but these are the respectable ones ....
Disturbingly relevant

I saw him at Toad's Place in New Haven.
His lead guitarist was one Ted Horowitz.
More well known as Popa Chubby.

I don't think I would want to be part of the breakfast special crowd. Are they drug addicts???

This is one of my favorite Pierce Turner songs! It's so cool to see this video. I'm definitely part of the 'breakfast special crowd', too.
