I had a part in this show, it was the first paid acting job I ever had. Not a huge role, but enough to keep me working for several weeks including a few weeks in Tutukaka. It was such a great time for me, as a kid I was a fan of Arthur of the Britons, so it was a true thrill for me to get to know Oliver Tobias on set, also to see how well Temuera Morrison did with his career. Happy times, thanks for posting!
i was in this movie with my family i was 4 at the time an the beach it was filmed on was matapouri beach out of tutukaka in new zealand. didnt have any lines we were mearly playing the rolls of the natives as kids running around, how ever i did make it in to a magazine we still have the photo albums with all the memories.
omg, i remember watching this when i was about 11. I know why i liked it so much as i was studying alot of english literature during this time...stories pretty much set in the same period as this show...
I loved this series when it was out. I've waited 20+ years for it to be released onto dvd/video. Quite wierd watching it again, maybe slighty dated and the ending is a little disappointing, but thats how it is in the book. Still very happy that I have got it at long last.
Oh how I love that character of Jack Vincent how Oliver Tobias interpreted him. Honesty has impressed me as well. Both together form a perfect couple.
Have seen Smuggler recently and have to buy this one also, that's for sure.
I reckon I've seen the series in my childhood, because I know that song...
I was also very fascinated by Jack. I still remember some scenes of the show. And also the theme music sounds familiar to me. I ordered the DVD and I love it.
I don't remember this sequel very well, and after viewing it is not without its charm. Smuggler however is just more accessible and Vincent was just more mysterious and likeable a character. Additionally the supporting cast were more dynamic and interesting. The end of Adventurer is a massive disappointment. I felt like saying "so what?"

The series wouldn't be what it was were it not for the fabulous supporting acting by Temuera Morrison. May his tribe flourish and prosper.

Would you believe it that I have been searching for the soundtrack of this tv series since 1988, when I first watched it?
