I remember the Space Genie, that tried crushing Superman. Looking at more classic cartoons since then, it obvious the genie was based on Shazaan. Maybe that's what became of him. He left his young masters back in time and turned evil (LOL).

Ok, so apparently from what I understand is that some of if not all these episodes were released on DVD but not faithfully adapted ala' Galactic Guardians and All-New Superfriends hour with cover art and etc. These were part of the earlier DVD sets that didn't list the episodes and accordingly got bad reviews and sales as a result? Are you serious? That sounds like a fix to me. If World's Greatest Superfriends is so good, how could ait was packaged w/same generic label Challenge and SF s1+2 got?

I think they should re-release those seasons faithfully adapted, give people their money back for the craptacular releases and give them all a coupon to buy a copy of Ruby/Spears' spinoff Plastic Man comedy hour. Then release that season followed by the next one featuring Baby Plas. All of these should come with great interviews by guys who worked on those shows and seasons of Superfriends. If ppl put best eps together in case DVD don't sell. We donno its there! Fix!

thank you for posting this! I've been looking for this for ages. I remember the animation in this intro being a little more interesting and arguably more dramatic(as 1970's saturday morning animation went)...the "dropping shadow character" and Superman struggling to break out....nice! Thanks.

BTW...it it just me who always wanted as a kid one of those model sheets in lower corner of the frame that you always see at the end of HannaBarbera cartoons (in this case like we see at 1:51)???
