@barbarian131 Players have it in there contract that they must do a certain level of charity work, and as well represent the organization and protect it's reputation. That's why when teams travel 95% of them (and probably most pro leagues not just hockey) they must wear suit and tie when they arrive for the game's and practices. Because no one wants to look at a bum. And yes, there job is to primarily play hockey, but they have secondary responsibilities as well.
There is no way of knowing for sure if they were ebay traders. Im 26 and would still attempt to get Ovie's autograph as well. I am a die hard hockey fan and would cherish that possession. But if u seen me you guys would call me an "ebay" trader. So thats not fair. It's not like there was 100 people there he'd have to stay and sign for hours. Unless you know 100% for sure theyre ebay traders, pro athletes should sign 100% of fans requests, we pay there salary. He literally owes it to fans.

Bad day or not, Ovie's job is to sign shit. Don't like it?? Give back the 7 million + endorsements your making / year.
...With that being said... This wasn't that bad of a case of a player being rude to fans refusing to sign.

@barbarian131 Players have it in there contract that they must do a certain level of charity work, and as well represent the organization and protect it's reputation. That's why when teams travel 95% of them (and probably most pro leagues not just hockey) they must wear suit and tie when they arrive for the game's and practices. Because no one wants to look at a bum. And yes, there job is to primarily play hockey, but they have secondary responsibilities as well.

There is no way of knowing for sure if they were ebay traders. Im 26 and would still attempt to get Ovie's autograph as well. I am a die hard hockey fan and would cherish that possession. But if u seen me you guys would call me an "ebay" trader. So thats not fair. It's not like there was 100 people there he'd have to stay and sign for hours. Unless you know 100% for sure theyre ebay traders, pro athletes should sign 100% of fans requests, we pay there salary. He literally owes it to fans.

I don't really see the problem, more than likely they're sports collectible salesman looking to make a profit. You clearly see OV not even hesitate to sign whatever he did for the kid, who is obviously a real fan.
I'm sure you learn these things as a Super-Star athlete in big cities. It's just something he has to live with, it's not like he is being blatantly rude to fans...

Those aren't "fan's" they're leaches. My brother in law invites me from time to time to go for signings after Sabres games, the way theses assholes act sometimes is pathetic and rude. They deserve to get ignored. Most likely he's on his way to eat after a morning skate, leave the guy alone you fucking leaches. He's probably seen these fuckers a hundred times before too, how disrespectful of someones personal time.
